Not sure if he has much left in him, to be honest. If I were him I'd probably look to play just T20s.

no need to play him in T20I better invest in young players especially Ammad butt or others

I don't think so . He'll just work on his fitness and come back for odis against WI..

Coz he's t new ball bowler we have atm to partner Amir

I think next series these will b t 5 bowlers

1.Amir
2.Hasan
3.Irfan
4.Gul
5.Wahab

Really sad, apart from Amir no one looks lik a wicket taking option. Irfan does take wickets, alas...

And we hav

Gul and Wahab, who offer nothing

If we find more, we have

Rahat, adil...

Even deeper

We hav

Anwar, bhatti, tanvir...

Making me cry...Pakistan who was known not just to produce back to back bowlers but was producing back to back WC bowlers

Imran, Aqib, Wasim, Kabir, Waqar, Shoaib, Gul(not t present), Asif, Amir, Junaid(not t present)...

Left wit
Hasan, yamin, junaid, gul, wahab, rahat, ANWAR, TANVIR, BHATTI..

And spinners lik qasim, alam, mushtaq, saqlain, afridi(not t present), hafeez(adding nice balance to t team)

Left wit yasir(lois),imad,nawaz,BILAL ASIF...

Hw times change...

His best bet is 20 20 . He should bowl four overs straight up .

He has capacity to get couple of wickets.

If it was that easy to work on it I'm sure he would not be so injury prone by now. It's sad really, such a good bowler but I don't see him coming back. He's just too fragile because of his size..

We say that everytime he is out injured or dropped but he still lingers on

Not sure what you are saying there. Are you saying that he somehow magically jumps on to the team bus without anyone noticing it? or maybe its the Pakistan management which makes that decision?

He should concentrate on domestic T20 leagues around the world.. Should earn some bucks at the end of his career..

Performed well for Pakistan and served the country some good entertainment. :irfan

The fact is he is not fit nough to play ODIs or Test cricket. He simply can only bowl 1 spell and then he is done.

I think he still has the ability to bowl well npw and then, but it's time to move on from him due to his fitness problems.

makes you wonder what he would had done if fitness was on his side.

Even with poor fitness, the guy could take 2-3 wickets in his first spell, destroying the oppositions from the word go

Looks like he's made a decent start to the Quaid-e-Azam Trophy - if he can sort his fitness issues out there may well be another few tours and matches left in Irfan yet.

A pathetic fielder and a horrible batter. There are many bowlers who can take 2 wickets an innings and are better in other areas.

Irfan has lost pace. He was a real handful when he used to bowl at 140-148 km/hr but him operating at 130-136 km/hr is useless.

He has been rubbish since 2014 but continues to get himself selected because he is tall.

He mighy pick up wickets and all but he has no future. He is old for a fast bowler.

Where is our swashbuckling 24 year old pedigree fast bowler with extreme fitness and pace?

Why must we have to put up with watching a 34 year old clumsy giant? Our cricket has come to this, how depressing.

Irfan is one of the best we got hence why he keeps getting selected. Our young bowlers are slow medium pacers with very little skills so they won't trouble any half decent international standard batsman. That's a fact. Irfan is a good bowler. Too bad his fitness is shocking but I blame that on our management who still haven't figured out after all of these years how to manage a 7ft giant.

Given his fitness record it seems unlikely that Irfan can carry on for another 2 and a half years and make the WC in England so this was a good opportunity to try someone new with the next WC in mind.

That said, Irfan does bowl a very good first spell but then disappears completely. If only he could maintain the intensity levels.

Time to make some hard choices. You cant keep picking players with poor fitness irrespective of how much talent they promise. SL did that way back and recently India followed suit. The game has advanced too far in this regard. Pakistan are sitting ducks playing people like Irfan.
