Thanks Abdullah bhai.

Class personified. Such elegance and has so much time when he plays the ball. Also, there is a certain authority in those shots- almost dismissive. Who knows, maybe spending time with the great Viv in the PSL taught him a few things about body language. :viv

One thing to note compared to last year is that he is trying to stay more upright in his stance. Foot movement needs a little work but take nothing away from him, he is going places.

Looks better than Haris who I am starting to lose patience with :(

Same. Haris has also been hard done by. Scores consistently but gets dropped because too many players in the same mold. I think he has something like 6 50s in the last 8 innings. Yet has been in and out of the team. As unfortunate as it is I think we should be looking to move on. Said hopefully makes his talent count.

Same here. His attitude is atrocious and he is not taking any responsibility. I think we should move on from Harris and invest in Saud now. He can be very useful in places like UAE with his left arm spin.

Still our best player of pace and bounce.

In LOIs he's getting tied up by spin; a problem which is accentuated on UAE pitches. The puzzle is he plays spin well in tests.

He struggles to attack spin. Defensively he is very good against spin. Against spin he ends up scoring about 4 runs every over which isn't good enough and puts him under pressure.

Thanks yar Abdullah :)

Kid is all class!

mak36 good post on Haris. Needs patience with him and will be out key player in world cup due to his ability against pace and bounce.

Saud Shakeel looks impress. Hopefully a Pakistan call is just around the corner. Capable batsman, decent bowler but not seen much for his fielding. Hopefully a chance in the PSL will get him some limelight. Maybe with Lahore Qalandars.

I like this batsmen...its sad that sarfraz has preferred his friends over him in psl. This guy should be getting the opportunity to showcase his ability.

How quickly do you think Kashif Ali (tall right arm bowler) and Mohammad Ismail (left arm bowler) are bowling in the above video?

Ismail looks quicker, but Kashif Ali has something about him. He is tall, has a smooth action and gets the ball to talk. He's inexperienced/inconsistent atm but basics look right. His wickets this season: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=83Y7NWv2LZ0

Can't say man. Video looks sped up a bit.

This is what is happening under Establishment’s stooge Selected PM Imran Khan Niazi and his selected Chairman PCB Ehsan Mani who is member of Shaukat Khanum BOG. IK’s close friend.

Selectors do not pick Shan Masood for Pakistan A squad and mysteriously Shan Masood plays for Pakistan A against Australia ahead of Saud Shakeel who is in form of his life in both F.C. and List A Cricket while performing as PTV Captain with more responsibility on his shoulders.

Shame on Tabdeeli brigade and Establishment’s stooge. U-turn and lying Maafia has got grip of Pakistan.

Just look at his current numbers and see what Imran’s cronies are doing at PCB namely Ehsan Mani and his cousin Zakir Khan.

Asad Shafique failed to stood up for Khi player Saud Shakeel who deserved to be in playing eleven. Now they might spread tabdeeli lies ie Saud is injured etc.

Baffling stuff. Hopefully he’s given a fair chance in the comingA team games. Seems as if the selectors have treated this one as a bit of a joke.

Who's the A team coach ? Crazy decision.

U19 Team Management:
i. Sadiq Muhammad U19 Team Manager
ii. Azam Khan Head Coach
iii. Mauhtashim Rasheed Assistant Coach
iv. Saqib Faqir Fielding Coach
v. M. Usman Ghani Physiotherapist
vi. Saboor Ahmed Trainer
vii. Usman Hashmi Analyst

Disappointed that Saud didn't get a chance to play against Australia. I don't get the point of Asad Shafiq playing in the ongoing match.

Even if there were A tours the best players would not get a chance. Instead TTF's would get their share to keep them satisfied.

Tauseef Ahmed, a member of the selection committee, was the manager of the A side for this game. He has shunned opportunities for Zafar Gohar in the past and now it seems as if Saud has been given the wrong end of the stick by him.

So, one of the best performers so far this season Saud Shakeel doesn't get picked for the starting XI for Pakistan A, but Shan Masood who wasn't even in the squd gets picked.

Pakistan cricket zindabad.

Its absolutely baffling how Saud Shakeel hasn't played for Pakistan A yet, Shan "connections" Masood can somehow glide into the lineup. Very poor to see.

If he plays and does well he can challenge the spots in the team of golden boys Babar and Asad. Hence he is on the bench. All politics

Scoring runs for fun again.

54 vs SSGC (list A).

On another level this season.

Match winning 104 (107) in List A match vs ZTBL.

He should be in the A team for one day and four day matches against NZ A and should also play all the matches against Eng Lions.

Impressive. His strike rate has been low a few times so it is pleasing that he scored a ton at a very good strike rate.

Any away A tours for Pakistan

We need now away tours at Pakistan under 19 and A level. Anyone with latest updates. Thank you.

.

Class personified. His innings today was like watching a highlight's reel. His dismissal was completely against the run of play. 52 (37) silences those who say he bats too slow, but he needs big scores in this tournament if he wants to make a real impression.

Re short ball, he looked under control when pulling but needs to work on his hook shot (not for the first time he didn't look too comfortable against that shorter length).

Saud Shakeel has been signed up by the Brothers Union cricket club as an overseas professional for Bangladesh's premium domestic tournament, Dhaka League 2019.

A Pakistan A tour of ENA is a necessity but when will it happen?

When will pkaistan A tour south Africa, Australia,England,Newzealand???

Is there any other A tour coming up???

Last time pakistan A toured Australia was 2009 i belive and England in 2016

Where is cricket for the 'A' team?

Even the Bangladesh and Afghanistan A teams are playing right now yet we continue to neglect this important phase of player development .
So what is the reason we organize so little cricket for our next in line?

Pakistan A played a lot of matches last season. Shan Masood got his debut and Rizwan was recalled against Aus due to their A team performances. Even Saad Ali to an extent with mixture of FC and A team performances.

We need to tour Aus,Eng,Sa and NZ for the development of the players and take them to the next level playing in UAE will not help them much

Tours are arranged reciprocally. You tour Aus, Eng, Sa and they tour your country in return. In Pakistan's case, these teams may ask to play in the UAE instead which means more expenditure for the board. These matches generate little to no money of their own and the board have to bear the burden. It should be no problem for the PCB who are fourth richest board in my opinion. But maybe the admins think otherwise.
As far as India is concerned, I think too much of A and age group cricket is happening. I remember last year two teams were playing at once. (One in Emerging cup another in a series).

Batting prodigy Saud Shakeel continues to impress

“It is certainly an honour for me to be leading Pakistan and I look forward to the tournament,” says Saud Shakeel.

Karachi, 15 November 2019: Entering the cricket fields as a 12-year-old, Saud Shakeel has made rapid progress and is presently leading Pakistan in the ongoing ACC Emerging Teams Asia Cup taking place in Bangladesh.

The 24-year-old left-handed batsman who can also bowl left-arm-spin represented Pakistan U19 in 2013 after a string of impressive performances in the national U19 circuit.

Saud started his first-class career two years after playing U19 cricket. In 35 matches in the red-ball format, the southpaw has scored 2,099 runs at 43.72. His tally already includes six centuries and 12 half-centuries with his highest score being 121.

Saud’s List ‘A’ record is even more impressive.

In 59 matches, in four of which he has scored centuries, Saud has accumulated 2,138 runs at 49.72.

His left-arm spin bowling has earned him 16 and 23 wickets in his first-class and List ‘A’ career.

Saud’s impressive returns in both formats earned him a place in the Pakistan ‘A’ team that toured England in 2016.

The star-studded side included Fakhar Zaman, Mohammad Abbas, Hasan Ali, Shadab Khan, Aamer Yamin and Mohammad Nawaz. Saud played one four-day and four one-day matches that tour.

Ahead of the ACC Emerging Teams Asia Cup, Saud Shakeel said: “It is certainly an honour for me to be leading Pakistan and I look forward to the tournament. Our side comprises quality players and strikes right balance in every department. We have all the ingredients to win the tournament. We aim to play aggressive cricket.

“I have played under the coaching of Ijaz Ahmed (Pakistan head coach for the ACC Emerging Teams Asia Cup) in the past. He backs the players and allows them freedom to express themselves.

“I have grown up idolising Kumar Sangakkara and he is my favourite player. I have learnt a lot from Sindh captain Sarfaraz Ahmed and Asad Shafiq. They have been great mentors for me this season.

“I look to build on my performances in domestic cricket and represent Pakistan in all three formats.”

Saud hasn’t been at his best in the domestic circuit this season so this tournament is huge for him. If he can give some good performances and lead the team to victory then he’ll be back up on the pecking order.
