We have to move on from Amir he is too self absorbed to be any use for Pakistan and has lost wicket taking ability with cut in pace. With Hasnain, Arshad, Hasan Ali, Haris Rauf, Shaheen, Faheem available Pakistan would not need his services.

Haris Rauf can’t be used as a new ball bowler, he hasn’t got the control.

Shaheen is a good new ball bowler, that’s it. He’s terrible at the death overs, I wouldn’t be surprised if his economy in the death overs was 10+.

Faheem’s role in the team is to perform with both bat and ball. He’s our 5/6th bowler, Amir is our new ball bowler. completely different roles.

People can name as many bowlers as they want for replacing Amir. But, the fact is Pakistan now only has 1 decent new ball bowler. And that’s not a good thing.

Maqsood is usually a Khushdil type of player and has always disappointed at international level. Looks like he is improving and the recent coaching by Mohd Yusuf and Co seem to be having some effect. Anyway early days he needs to perform consistently to merit a recall to internationals. He has scored well overall in recent times.

He doesnt have the temperament for those numbers and will most likely fail just like he did before in those positions in my opinion, same has been the case with Umar Akmal where I mentioned quite a few times he doesnt have the pressure handling skills or game intelligence required for those numbers. Batting position makes a huge difference and every position require certain specialized skillset especially in white ball cricket.

Also Mohammad Wasim most likely isnt going to select him for those numbers based upon his performances at the top of the order but, who knows.

Mohd Amir is a nothing bowler nowadays, each one mentioned above will take atleas couple of wickets per match on average even if they may concede 5 to 8 more runs in their alloted 4 overs,and that includes Fahim the all rounder. I would rather have Waqas Masood over current Amir, especially with his attitude and fitness levels.
