MI are clearly the strongest team in the IPL. They could dominate the IPL for the next couple of years. Really hope the other franchises step up there recruitment so we get a fresh winner in 2021.

😡😡😡

Not happening bro. We are going to dominate next IPL as well. Chances are next IPL will be taking place in UAE again which suits us very well.

MMHS said if IPL is in UAE next year he would expect players to adapt better. I agree with that.

Let's see how the other teams react. Really don't wanna see Mumbai win it every year.

This IPL has been amazing. Really disappointed we are looking at a dead final.

Rohit or Boult will be the player of the match, most likely Rohit as he is captain also.

Who is gonna be player of the tournament?

That was a great catch. Why wasn't Norje brought on earlier? Iyer captaincy is really defensive.

Mumbai has got their combination absolutely perfect - it's not about 11 best players, rather it's about 11 top players making a best combination like a well oiled machine. Something Sir Alex formed at Old Traford - he had good, great players indeed but individually must not have the players that could win 13 EPL and 2 CL over 20 years. A higher level example is probably Barca of 10 years back - they formed a squad with individuals majority of whom robbed world soccer for Spain as well for best part of a decade.

Coming to Mumabi, they have everything bar may be one champion spinner. But, their leadership, batting, bowling combination is best in IPL and they might dominate a years or two in coming days. But, once this squad ages out, I am sure we'll see a massive fall from MI as well; just like CSK is going through now. It happens to every dominant team in every sports - success comes with a black hole; money can buy players but not combination, synergy once a settled team is phased/aged out. For Franchise based sports where there is a budget cap, it's even more applicable - in US sports, more billionaires are there than entire rest of the world, but US sports doesn't allow what Pep Guardiola is doing at MCity .... hence we have seen the raise and fall of Chicago Bulls, LA Lakers, GS Worriors, Dallas Cowboys, NE Patriots, Detroit Red Wings; NY Yankies......

I think, Mumbai'll be among favorites next year as well, but then it'll start to fade away.

MI recruit well. They have Sherfane Rutherford in their squad. He is probably Pollard long term replacement. They will need to replace Rohit as a captain and player after 2021. Rest of the team is young enough to be around for a while.

I hope they fade away you like said as I don't want them to dominate every year.

Congrats to Mumbai they played the most consistent cricket and deserved to win it.

Delhi have had a good tournament. They should hold their heads high. They lost momentum after Pant got injured and they didn't really recover from that.

Delhi fluked their way into the finals and was bit of a mismatch. Hyderabad would have given more fight to Mumbai.

To me DC's top bowler was Nortje, Rabada got lot of wicket in slog overs and also most of the deliveries was in the slot..

Man these Saffers!!! Even Pant was able to play but not em (Nortje was good) congratulations to MI well deserved

Delhi and Punjab two teams that can never win the final, next year they will not even reach playoffs

A bit harsh, DeCock set the tone with his assault against Rabada.

Apart from Sharma's entertaining knock it was a pretty poor game to be honest, bought it via sky sports day pass and it was so boring. Would have been ideal to see a better opponent for MI, anyone else bored at them winning all the time, the IPL is so repetetively boring the deeper you get into the tournament

I should have watched the Pak/Zimb game instead mainly to see the new blokes get a go but don't think there was a UK broadcaster

All the matches were free to stream for UK viewers via YouTube for the PAK games, Ipl wasn’t the greatest game but to be honest neither was pak vs zim

I'd have watched the Pak/Zimb game knowing it wouldn't be exciting and just to take a look at the new crop something fresh etc with the IPL final I expected much better to be honest in terms of the advertised entertainment, were it not for Sharma's knock it would have been even more painful. Didn't know the other games were free to stream

And what the stability achieved in the long run, heart breaks after heart breaks, yeah a more dignified loss, oh if there ever is such a thing, in the grand scheme of things the results speak for itself and Misbah has nothing to show for that, bar that lucky and fluke two min no 1 test ranking, he had his chances but always remain man of so near yet so far, maybe u call him unlucky but he his extra conscious and safety first approach deserved it, with a little more Ruthlessness, he could have completely different career, imagine that ball went for 6 in 2007 and that mohali innings if he started hitting in time and took Pak to Final, and after that final win, he would be bigger hero than Even Imran Khan. The guy would have gave Pak two WCs.

Misbah was never going to be a power hitter though. He just isn't built for that game. He is a stabiliser like Smith in odi.

Other players around him were supposed to do the power hitting and they failed.

Mumbai Indians all-rounder Krunal Pandya was stopped and questioned by Directorate of Revenue Intelligence (DRI) personnel at the Mumbai International Airport on Thursday on landing from the UAE following his team’s IPL win.

DRI sources said four expensive watches the cricketer had not declared on arrival were seized from his possession. At the time of going to press, DRI and customs officials were still recording testimony and assessing the value of items seized to calculate the duty evaded.

DRI officials detained the player along with his wife. Sources said DRI officials, on receiving intelligence, had reached T2 terminal of the airport.

If he is found to have violated rules, Pandya would face action under the Customs Act. According to Customs law, a passenger can carry items/goods worth up to R50,000 as free allowance and won’t have to declare at the customs. If a passenger is carrying items of a higher value, they must be declared at customs on arrival, and can attract duty of around 36%.

A passenger caught with goods worth up to R20 lakh without paying duty is fined. If the value of goods range between R20 lakh and R1 crore he is made to pay the fine and arrested, though he is eligible for spot bail against a cash deposit.

If the value of goods seized is above R1 crore, the person is arrested and produced before a magistrate to seek judicial custody.

Krunal’s mother Nalini Pandya said: “I haven’t heard anything about it. I haven’t spoken to him today.”
