My New Bubber Sher L.E. Real or Fake?

Hi Folks!

I recently purchased a Malik Buber Sher Limited Edition bat. I just received it in the mail, and am absolutely over the moon. Looks like an absolute BEAST!

My only concern is that it might be a fake? What i have heard is that the Malik L.E. Bats have NO STICKERS! and the logos are printed on the bat.

However my bat has sticker.. :S And the sticker solours are also darker shade of green!

Have a look at the pics and lemme know what you guys think. I only have 7 days to claim a REFUND. So please lemme know ASAP!!

Also some tips regarding preparing the bat would be helpful... I am planning to oil it once lightly and then knock it in real good. And hopefully start playing in nets by next week.

Is this a laminate? If so, it may be fake as MB LE only comes in one piece of willow.

^^ What do you mean by laminate? If you look at the edge it does seem like 2 pieces of wood joined together!

Its probably real going by the shape - it seems like a typical MB Sher shape with big edges. It still looks like a nice bat regardless.

Yes knock in it well, especially the edges and toe of the bat.

think its original but MB should really start with some holograms and stick to burnt edges.....

In my opinion its a Laminate, from the side shot you can see the join,
10 grains on the front, 5 on the back. Not the same piece of wood.

I couldn't say it was a fake or not, but if it plays really well keep it. Try emailing Malik factory to find out if they ever make Laminate bats.

It is 100% genuine bat and is a laminate.

It ended up costing me around $260 CAD w/ shipping. Anyways, i checked, and it is an original. Heres the explanation i received from the dealer:

"Hi,

It was my mistake that I put the wrong pictures up. MB Malik stopped doing the painted bats because too many complaints started coming through about them. They look good when new but after playing where the ball hits the paint gets cracked/damaged and wears away. I spoke to MB Malik about this and the stickers where changed as they had got similar feedback as me.

MB Malik did the Babr Sher and LE in paint version but are discontinued for the above reason. Again apologies for not making this clear in the ad.

I do hope you get good play from your bat and thank you for your feedback you are welcome back anytime."

Are laminated bats any different to normal bats? Lifespan etc?

Indeed what he said is correct this MB have moved from paint to sticker because paint comes off etc etc.

However if you see the following link (scroll down to second last post) you'll see Bhasarat Bhai a while ago posted pictures of new stickers.

As far price is concerned you got a good price indeed.

For preparing I would say take one tea spoon and oil the bat face, edges and back with it. Pour it on a piece of cloth and rub it on the bat.

Then give a few days and then start knocking, if you see oil soaking in quickly then oil it again very very little though.

Performance is different as they ping more.

I think in terms of lifespan they have shorter life but I believe more knowledgeable guys would be better to answer that question.

Yes CD bro, the ping is amazing, ball feels like a "bouncy ball" when you hit it. I am also amazed at how big the middle is. Its MASSIVE, and it felt like medium/high middle. Its my first premium bat and i am loving it. The only regret is that why didn't i get it earlier.

I am planning to put the whole thing on after knocking in. Or should I put some ONLY on toe and Edges?? Would it effect performance if I put the whole thing on?

Initially top of the lines weren't but now they are also available in laminate. The thing is that in Pakistan people are obsessed with thick edges and ping they want bat which is thick and has good ping so that is a reason why manufacturers do it because of demand.

MB's logo was never burnt, the other type is paint and this is sticker thats it.

I didn't know that it was gonna be laminate. Ordered it on ebay and it turned out to be laminate. Love it tho
