Mash-Allah ... hafeez has more focus on publicity of himself rather than onfield performance lol ..

What is this nonsense of Wahab batting at #3? He is only good for smashing spinners and he came in the first over, whole powerplay wasted.

Also due to this silly move, Saif Badar and Aamer Yamin will probably bat at 7-8 now.

Great to see SP think-tank grooming youngster Wahab Riaz and elevating him upto 3 - we desperately need a powerhitter and bowling A/R for WT20 in Australia and it appears Ammad, Aamir and Fahim have all failed to impress Misbah :misbah

Criminal that amir yamin hasn't been selected for the t20's atleast.

Rubbish kashif bhatti taking a beating no wonder misbah selected him.

There goes peoples darling Ahsan Ali...absolutely great come back by Souther punjab who needs to win today to go through...credit due where credit is due...although Omair Yousuf is an opener no idea why he hasnt come yet..

I know, but Yamin has been doing well throughout and there was no reason to change the order. If anyone should have played at 3 it should have been Yamin.

bro this is Pakistan, nothing has made sense there and nothing will LOL

why hasnt Omair yusuf come to bat yet...is he coming at 11 i am sure he is an opener...

How on earth was that out...the keeper was a mile on leg side..so was the ball..just because Hafeez sahib appealed...

Well first look at omair...not sure that is an opener technique unless it is only for 20 20 which it might be..he has been scoring very well in domestic.

well that was short and sweet not impressive..its a fact we are lacking talent end off...even someone who looks to ooze class

Mohammad Hafeez is Man of the Match - But not for his batting! Takes 4/24 in 4 overs

Southern Punjab beat Sindh by 34 runs to stay alive in the ongoing National T20 Cup at Faisalabad’s Iqbal Stadium.

Southern Punjab lost both openers – Shan Masood, the captain, and Mohammad Hafeez – within the first over, thanks to Sohail Khan, after opting to bat first.

Sohail struck again in his second over which reduced the batting side to four for three in 2.1 overs.

A 30-ball 41 by Wahab Riaz, who batted at number three, weathered the storm. The 34-year-old cracked three fours and two sixes and crafted a 73-run stand for the fourth-wicket with veteran all-rounder Shoaib Malik - who scored 38 runs from 41 balls, hitting three fours and a six.

Late surges by Aamer Yamin (27 off 19) and Bilawal Bhatti (24 off 14) helped Southern Punjab post a respectable score of 148 for nine in 20 overs.

It was, however, right-arm fast-medium Sohail who was the star performer in the first innings with four for 15 in four overs.

Anwar Ali and Kashif Bhatti returned three for 21 and two for 55.

A 63-run stand for the third-wicket between Asad Shafiq, who scored run-a-ball 25, and Sarfaraz Ahmed (45 off 37) gave Sindh a hope after Khurram Manzoor and Ahsan Ali were back in the pavilion inside the first 10 balls of the run chase.

The fall of Asad’s wicket in the 10th over handed complete control of the match to Southern Punjab as Hafeez and Zahid Mahmood picked up four wickets each to skittle out Sindh for 114 in 17.4 overs.

For his four for 24 in four overs, Hafeez bagged the man-of-the-match award.

With this match, both, Southern Punjab and Sindh, have completed their all group matches.

After the 13th match of the National T20 Cup, Southern Punjab, with five points, are placed third on the points table, while Sindh are fourth with four points.

Northern and Balochistan are first and second on the points table with six points each from four matches.

Central Punjab and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa are fifth and sixth with three and two points.

Scores in brief:

Southern Punjab 148-9, 20 overs (Wahab Riaz 41, Shoaib Malik 38, Aamer Yamin 27, Bilawal Bhatti 24; Sohail Khan 4-15, Anwar Ali 3-21, Kashif Bhatti 2-55)

Sindh 114 all-out, 17.4 overs (Sarfaraz Ahmed 45, Asad Shafiq 25; Zahid Mahmood 4-21, Mohammad Hafeez 4-24)

whats with Maliks Bandana style...is this some new fasion

He’s been rocking that for a very long time now. I don’t know for how long you’ve been watching him but he even use to wear these in 2003 when he smashed Jacques Kallis for massive sixes when he scored like 87 off 30 something balls.

Technically Sindh is out of the tournament despite containing the largest city of PAK. They are on 4 points after all their games, while SP has 5, also after 5 games. Last game between North & Balooch (both on 6 points) has no impact, while between CP-KP, if CP wins, they reach 5 points as well and Sindh misses out straight. IfKP wins, they'll also reach 4 points, but they are alread at (- 0.046), NRR, compared to Sindh's (- 1.387), a win will improve their NRR further.

Balooch vs Northern might be a contest that both teams might wish to lose, because my hunch is CP will win last game, but for poorer NRR, SP will end as 3rd, means table topper will face CP in SF - I won't like to face that team in a T20 KO game :(
