Babar was a flop as a captain

He let Usman Qadir bowl first two overs from where leg side boundary to left hander was the shortest.

He can’t commit such blunders at international level

Misbah will have to act as an off field captain if he wants Babar Azam to succeed.

So misbah has selected a guy who's not going to play and has taken 6 wickets at 54 and misbah said he's selected on performance. just to make up the numbers. I see.

If Misbah said Imran Khan is selected than performance than he is wrong. As I said I would have preferred Ehsan Adil or Sameen Gul as Abbas covers.

So means players without performances can be selected by misbah as long as they are old if he wants. Great.

Musa is also selected for Tests without any performance. Obviously if they dont turn up Misbah will face the heat.

And musa shouldn't have been selected way too short.

He is but than other than Hasnaian who isnt fit enough for longer format as of now we dont have a lot of tall pacers with pace. Atleast Musa has pace and rushes the batsmen.

Talking about pace and then selecting imran khan.

I like Usama Mir and was surprised he never debuted under Mickey as he rated him pretty highly. Its unfortunate that Mir, Ibtisam couldnt get games. While Mohsin definitely impressed me but I think he will be better of with few more matches and over under his belt as he is a late developer as a bowler because he was mostly playing and known as a batting all rounder.

really thats good but how can he be batting allrounder as he came about 8 or 9 down every game..

He is picked in national T20 cup this time around as a bowler who can bat however if you see his batting positions previously he has played in it was as batsman. That is why you there arent much overs under his belt as in 18 FC matches he has player he has bowled around 25-27 overs in total. He was never considered as a specialist leg spinner or bowling all rounder previously.

Blistering knocks by Fakhar Zaman and Khushdil Shah helped Khyber Pakhtunkhwa beat Central Punjab by seven wickets and bag a semi-final berth in the ongoing National T20 Cup at Iqbal Stadium, Faisalabad.

Fakhar and Khushdil put up unbeaten scores of 82 and 46 – at strike rates of 152 and 177 respectively – to help their side chase down the 178-run target with three balls spare.

The defeat knocked Central Punjab out of the tournament.

Fakhar cracked seven fours and two sixes and crafted a 45-run stand with Sahibzada Farhan (17 off 15) for the first-wicket and a 62-run stand for the third-wicket with Iftikhar Ahmed (19 off 20).

But, it was Khushdil’s 46 not out off 26 balls, studded with three fours and three sixes, which settled the match for Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, who needed 68 off 42 when the 24-year-old took the crease.

For his batting exploits, Khushdil was named man-of-the-match.

Zafar Gohar, Naseem Shah and Usman Qadir picked a wicket each during the run chase.

Earlier, Central Punjab scored 177 for three in 20 overs after they were asked to bat.

Their captain Babar Azam starred with 83 runs from 56 balls, hitting five fours and four sixes.

Umar Akmal hit an unbeaten 37-ball 53, which had two fours and four sixes.

The pair of Babar and Umar crafted a 111-run stand for third-wicket, which came to an end with the run out of the former.

For Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Irfanullah Shah and Mohammad Mohsin took a wicket each in four overs for 22 and 33 runs, respectively.

After the completion of this contest, four semi-final teams were finalised. The final group-match, between Balochistan and Northern will decide who secures the top spot in the points table.

Placed fifth on the points table with two wins from five matches, Sindh were the other side to be knocked out of the tournament.

Scores in brief:

Central Punjab 177-3, 20 overs (Babar Azam 83, Umar Akmal 53)

Khyber Pakhtunkhwa 182-3, 19.4 overs (Fakhar Zaman 82, Khushdil Shah 46)

This Atif Javed is a special talent

The inswingers are very similar to Amir in 2010

Pace and swing

Akif Javed must play in T20 worldcup if he continues to impress in domestic cricket this season, the guy got everything from pace to both ways swing.

This guy Ali imran looks good. Two youngsters playing really well. That inside out shot against Yasir shows how good a batting talent he is. One for the future i guess

Really like the fearless approach of Ali Imran which is not very common in young Pakistani batsmen.

That shot to Akif by Rohail for 6 was pretty impressive

Kudos to Northern (Mohammad Wasim and Imad Wasim) to give opportunities to youngsters in the top 4 rather than wasting them down the order.

M Wasim is a good coach - you can see he persisted with Rohail Nazir every game and developing him. Brought Musa in and dropped Amir for a couple games. Apparently he's been working with Shadab on his bowling and its clear Shadab is improving as seen the last couple games. Gave a chance to a youngster to open, how many other teams have done that???

You can make fun of me if you want but rohail nazirs technique is 97 percent similar to virat kohli and that includes the shot making.

I want to see mohammad wasim involved with the national team as an batting coach might well do wonders for the national team.

Rather he was the head coach with Rashid Latif as the chief selector.

Misbah has no clue what hes doing at moment. Somwhere stuck between trying youngsters and not believing in them (hence picking Irfan senior and Imran Khan )

Averages 36 @88 in List A

Is that good enough to get in as a specialist batsman? I mean there are a few other batsmen with better List A averages and Strike Rates.
He deffo isn't an all rounder. Atleast his age has been corrected. i'm sure he was 16 last year.
1 more good innings and some fans will make him the next captain too.

Its too early to write misbah off i will wait a couple of series before making any judgements. He still had the guts to pick up naseem shah and musa khan in tests.

Faisalabad, 22 October 2019:

Northern beat Balochistan by seven wickets to finish at the top of the points table as the group stage of the National T20 Cup, being held at Faisalabad’s Iqbal Stadium, concluded on Tuesday.

Ali Imran and Rohail Nazir hit half-centuries for Northern to help their side chase down the 156-run target in 17 overs.

The pair crafted a 105-run partnership for the third-wicket which got Northern out of trouble after losing two wickets for just 18 runs in 1.5 overs.

For his 37-ball 65 - studded with eight fours and two sixes - Ali was awarded man-of-the-match.

Rohail, the captain of Pakistan’s U19 side, scored an unbeaten 56 off 46 balls, hitting four fours and three sixes.

That Balochistan had managed 155 for eight in 20 overs was largely due to Hussain Talat’s rearguard effort.

The all-rounder scored 77 runs from 51 balls, hitting nine fours and two sixes.

At one stage, Balochistan were 93 for six in 13.5 overs, courtesy Shadab Khan.

The leg-spinner starred with the ball for Northern with four wickets for 26 runs in four overs.

Other notable performers with the ball were Mohammad Amir and Sohail Tanvir as they took two wickets each for 37 and 39 runs, respectively.

The second best performance with the bat in Balochistan’s innings came from opener Awais Zia, who scored 31 off 23 balls with five fours and a six.

The two semi-finals of the National T20 Cup will be played on Wednesday, 23 October.

In the first semi-final, first-placed Northern will take on fourth-placed Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

The second semi-final will see Balochistan, second on the points table, face-off Southern Punjab, who finished number three on the points table.

Scores in brief:

Balochistan 155-8, 20 overs (Hussain Talat 77, Awais Zia 31; Shadab Khan 4-26, Mohammad Amir 2-37, Sohail Tanvir 2-39)

Northern 156-3, 17 overs (Ali Imran 65, Rohail Nazir 56)
