Salman Butt as captain?? Don't we have anyone else? What privelege allows him to captain sides after the spot fixing scam he did while captaining the country?
I'm all for reintigration of players, however I don't think Butt deserves to be captain. Maybe try some other youngster as captain.

Interested to see how Sahibzada does against Mudassar- bearing in mind the former's lack of foot movement and the latter's ability to move the ball.

Farhan was looking like he was trying too hard earlier, but now looks more settled.
 
Why is this asif Ali guy not appreciated much? Is it because he is a friend of Misbah? He is apparently only 26 year old so no 30s uncle and whenever I look at the scorecard he always has some 6s and 4s to his name.
 
Fantastic T20 cricket

Amazing chase by Faisalabad, today it was Sohaib Maqsood-mania, carried his side for another convincing win but a really great game to watch.

Lahore Whites made a good total, and minus Amir opened the bowling with spinners, it worked. The openers [Gauhar-Farhan] contemplating going after pacers had to change their game. Lahore got Gauhar early, in 4 overs they were 21 for 1.
Sohaib Maqsood and Farhan started to build, Hafeez alongwith Khalid U. employed brilliant strategy with some tight spin bowling to restrain the 2. Farhan still continued to hit a 4 every over with Maqsood hitting a six [in 5th over]to keep the Run Rate around 6-7.4 barring the 3rd over by Mudassir and 8th over of Khalid Usman. Khalid[took 1 wicket] and Hafeez only gave 25 runs in 5 overs with Mudassir conceding 14 runs off 2 overs, in 9 overs Faisalabad could only manage 66 with 1 down.
Sohaib/Farhan continued to wait for pacers and as soon as other bowlers came they went berserk and the chase was on. Hafeez returned back to bowl and got Farhan out with a stumping. Over was going great when Hafeez bowled a wide Adnan Akmal failed to collect conceding a boundary [5 wides]. Asif Ali hit the next 2 balls for 4s.

After that Asif Ali-Sohaib were unstoppable, they just decimated Lahore side reached 50 partnership in 18 balls.
Asif Ali hit 42 off 16 balls, a super knock.

Again Faisalabad finished the 180 odd chase with almost 2 overs to spare.

Sohaib Maqsood is an incredible talent, if he had some of the connections and like Akmals got multiple chances to continue in Pakistan side[instead of being regular in Pakistan A], he would've been the player to watch. His injuries and disciplinary issues wasted himself. Simply effortless in hitting the ball, has one of the best pull shot in Pakistan right now.

Take a look, I have updated his thread. He is one of the best power hitters in Pakistan, and can hit from ball one.

Did have consistency issues, but playing FC cricket this year seems to have helped.
 
Sarfaraz on 31 (20)- batting nicely.

Just hit Wahab for six. :))

Abrar Ahmed (the one who used to play for KK) is getting spanked.

It's hard to believe this is the same Sami Aslam. Someone needs to tell him to play his natural game when in national colours. Has to overcome that barrier. He is a quality player and is a l/t test opener with the right support.

His chances in the shorter format will come if he continues these consistent performances, but right now his priority has to be overcoming this mental weakness and transferring his domestic style of play onto the international stage.

Amad Butt and Aamer Yamin showed cool heads. I'm happy Yamin showcased his batting ability in front of Sarfaraz- should encourage him to play him in the XI.

Karachi team is full of sarfraz's friends and full off big mouth players such as Tabish Khan (thinks he's the best bowler) and Anwer Ali (best all rounder). They might as well call the Karachi team as Sarfraz's Friends 11.

Feel sorry for the likes of Danish Aziz who actually fielded well today (subtitiute), but was dropped after given 1 game and that too he was made to bowl 4 overs when he is a top order batsmen.

"Going Misbah's ways". He's already gone that way just look at QG and this team it's full of his friends. Atleast 1 thing i will give him credit is that he hasn't picked them in PAK squad.

by picking them in pak squad he may lose his captaincy.SO better k dostii bhi tahay awr kaptani bhi.i dont like his attitude with the youngsters but better than Misbah.Malik was superb for the youngsters promotion.

I don't like Malik what so ever but, he is by a country mile the best captain when it comes to youngsters.To name few, usama mir, nauman anwar, haris, saif badar etc. By the way i don't understand urdu when written in english bro.
 
It took Yamin and Amad Butt[coming at 9th rofl] to push this Akmal ship over the line, it was Lahore's match to lose and remove Yamin, Karachi would've won easily. Karachi still put up better fielding/bowling performance to defend not enuff total and brought the match close. Fielding was'nt great but Karachi is still the best fielding side in the tournament with some good catches like the diving catch by Danish Aziz. Really surprised why Tabish Khan was picked by Karachi Kings, nothing good about him.

Umar Akmal proved to some of his supporters how he can do even worse batting at the top. Both teams still are worse as per t20 standards given the passengers they carry. The PCB's pre-allocated seniors are proving the world they are awful than the domestic players. PCB's trio Asad Shafiq, U. Akmal, Anwar Ali

i mean he wanna retain friendship as well as captaincy.so keeps them in buddy eleven but can,t in pak eleven.

Yes, exactly. If it was up to him we would have been seeing the likes of asad, anwer etc. But i am sure he knows deep down if he selects them he could lose his captaincy as that trash won't perform.

Most definitely.

He is a proper bowling all-rounder and has a very high ceiling. Ticks a lot of boxes (young, physically and mentally strong, swing etc) but he is very raw. Domestic coaches have been meddling with his action which has pushed him back. Still put in some decent performances with both bat and ball in this year's QeA which is great to see.

Happy to see IU keep their faith in him- working with Waqar should do him some good. Really, he needs to work with national coaches if he wants to make it. Thankfully, Mushtaq Ahmed in a recent interview did mention they are keeping an eye on him so let's see what happens.

Going to the technical issue, I have reposted [MENTION=141557]Chief Destroyer[/MENTION]'s post below:

His problem is the contraction of the torso before the ball is even delivered. Unnecessarily straining himself and actually losing pace instead of gaining, waste of effort and energy. This is a problem with many Pakistani pacers who try to extract an extra yard by bending their backs like idiots. What they don't understand is that pace is actually generated from tightening your core muscles maintaining the torso upright and bounding off the crease from the bottom up. If your body has already collapsed before delivery you limit leverage and solely rely on upperbody strength and armspeed.

Than Lahore XI should be called Akmal Khandaan and yaaran XI. Even Lahore region players have to play for other teams to get noticed thanks to this family. I doubt there are teams where non-performing brothers, cousins get selected and played every match just due to their relationship status

This is the worst pitch for pace bowling, Tabish Khan, Mir Hamza or even Dale Steyn would've been hit.

Anwar Ali, Asad Shafiq and Rumman Raees are PCB allocated players, not picked by Sarfraz in a draft .

Facts do hurt. First of all i am not gonna explain Shadab which you can work out for yourself, coming to rumman i give him credit for it. I am not a hater of anyone, but just stating a fact.

Please tell me why he called up rifit when he had Talat. What about umer amin oh i totally forgot about Babar Azam, lets not even mention what he dd with amad and kamran ghulam and forget about selecting 30 plus for our team. Only a genius like him can drop haris from squad.

Plus Blind love is also bad for your health.

And ironically they are his best friends. Yes when did i say the lahore team is full of saints infact they are even more worse as they have corrput players. But atleast they have promising players like amir yamin and amad butt who can play for pakistan. The one player who can represent pakistan in future from Karachi was Danish Aziz who was made to bowl 4 over when he is a top order batsmen and dropped next match.

Doesn't matter if it is the worst pitch i just said he is a big mouth who thinks he is the best bowler in pakistan which i believe he said in an interview with PP. Surely a best bowler of pakistan won't get spanked like him.

You mean the same Talat and Amad Butt that played in PSL 2 and have been retained for PSL 3? What about them?

As for Kamran, I rate him but let's not forget by dropping Kamran they got Shadab. I'm pretty sure everyone would say that was the right call.

We are talking about PSL here so no need to discuss national team selections.

Very rich of you ignoring babar and amin. Can you tell me how they were treated. Yeah i mean the same talat who only got 2 games and rifit was played ahead of him. Please don't ignore facts or there is no point discussing anything. As i said early i will let you figure out shadab.

From Karachi Whites Mir Hamza, Azam, are also promising players. And there are more TTFs in other sides than Karachi.

Maybe you didn't read my post. Please read it again i have criticized the lahore team too as well as the fixers too. Did I say they done the right thing by making him bat at 9. I will criticise anyone who picks their friends even if they are my favourites. If I criticise someone don't mean i hate them.


I say it again this whole tournment is full of TTf's including all teams and all captians are favouring their buddies.

I got bad new for u. He is in a team that has got Andre Russel, fahim ashraf, Shadab Khan.
He will be fighting it out with talat for the all-rounder spot and it's more likely to go to talat who is a better batter.
Sami rumman and Badree to complete the bowling line up.
I don't see much chance for amad which is a shame
