So what to do? Stop expecting anything from this team or what? It looks like story is same just the characters are changing.

Why is misbah not dropping Hafeez, why is he presisting with mediocre Asad Shafiq
 
They thought he is Ambrose not Jason...The guy just need 1 more wicket to have his first 5fer in his 4th ODI...
 
Where are the decision makers? Why is hafeez being picked day in and day out without performing?

This is just sickening to watch !

Pakistan have shuffled personnel and batting order but the results don't look like improving. What next?
 
The Whole batting mentality is wrong! When the captain keeps saying we need to keep wickets in hand first 15 overs you will get results like this.
These players are not techniqually good enough to Battle it out. Just play postive cricket, then you will at least have runs on the Board.
 
Don't you think it's better to lose with youngsters than to lose with the same tried and tested failures? At least the youngsters can improve their game by learning from their mistakes. With the same tried and tested failures you are guaranteed an embarrassing exit from the next World Cup.
 
Lack of good quality young talent in Pakistan let's face it :D but Pakistan aren't the only ones :D
 
Which new faces have they tried? Recalled a couple of familiar faces but all the newbies are sitting warming the bench as usual
 
Now all the blame will go to Umar and Afridi if they dont click instead of other failures...
 
Batting order is being spoilt courtesy hafeez ! You dont simply take up someone elses position if you are a garbage at your own !

Ideally, Asad Shafiq should be number 3 or even Umar Akmal ! Hafeez is just spoiling the whole batting line up for pakistan ! When will someone ever step up and make a decision to get rid of this mediocre player?
 
Jamshed, Shahzad, Shafiq are all relative youngsters and all 3 failed. Who else can be tried in their place? Especially the openers.

He's a better all-rounder than Afridi. You really think Shafiq would have performed differently if he came in earlier?
 
Are we still lambasting Azhar Ali for scoring too slow? The fact is tht as long as AA was in the squad, he stablised the batting order, ever since hes been dropped despite averaging 40, pakistan hve been collapsing.

Im not saying shafiq would have performed better, but seriously, hafeez is not a number 3 ! Your number 3 has to be a real solid batsmen ie. someone like kohli !

Point is, if you cant perform at your position (which is opening for hafeez), then please dont spoil the batting order by grabbing someone elses place !

And honestly, i'd not have afridi and hafeez playing for pak ! Afridi should be replaced by Hammad Azam IMO ! Guy packs a punch and cant do worse with the ball than what afridi has done recently !

So you'd be happy if he opened and Shahzad batted 3? The fact is that no one else has put pressure on his position through weight of runs.

Give youngsters in the team a long run before giving up on them, if guys like malik, farhat etc. can play series after series despite failing we need to be patient with the younsters like shehzad, jamshed and akmal

Good point.

Youngsters need 50 or more games before you can make a call.

Akmal has 70 games averaging nearly 40 and we aren't convinced by him yet.

No need to disturb opening combo of Shahzad and Jamshed yet, Give them this whole series and series against Zimbabwe, if they dont perform you can go to Azhar Ali...

Not really.

No Haris Sohail, Hammad Azam and other young players.

Hafeez and Shafiq can't play ODI cricket long-term.

I cannot understand if a guy is being dropped from opening position due to technical reasons then how can someone on earth thinks he can bat one down instead in over number 3... Shambles
 
I don't see why we need two allrounders in Hafeez and Afridi. Should have not included one for a specialist batsman. I say specialist however but most look like amateurs.
 
Clearly Umar Akmal lacking in confidence here, he will get better by spending more time out there...and, why does Misbah smile after every TUK - sooo annoying
 
Shouldnt have two teams.. Test and odi teams should be similar..dissapointed with shafiq as im a big supporter of his..and jamshed is just losing it..hafeezs position is becoming untenable..cant play both hafeez abd afridi in same team..bring in a proven test player like azhar..push hafeez to 7 and get him to compete with afridi..perhaps bring in taufeeq too..have to question the man management..seems non existant atm..

Web , fans must have realistic expectation . having said that , 23 for 4 is actually very poor .

Even more poor when 47/5...And you have 2 completely different batsmen on pitch...Misbah & Afridi...
 
Exactly what is it in this wicket or in this bowling attack that has made Pak batsmen fall like flies?
 
Change the tuk tuk mentality, please

Today all the batsmen seemed low on confidence and relying on tuk tuk to save themselves, which isn't how you come out of the rot...simple rules like bat positively and naturally aren't being realized.

I would definitely remove the mother of all tuks tuks Misbah from captaincy and give it to somebody who instills positive attitude and supports the young batsmen in the team, just about anybody who could think on their feet and stay positive & bold throughout.

It's 57/5 .... is anyone missing Farhat and Malik?

Would those two have made a difference?
 
simple Misbah should be removed from the captaincy in ODI's.. batting problems will be solved it's all in the mindset
 
Pakistan has no good young players. Okay on flat tracks. Pity what they be like without old players like Misbah. Times are indeed changing :D

CHANGE IN CHARACTORS....???? Really...???? It the same old :hafeez :afridi..:misbah :shafiq... When Misbah is around do you think other young Batsmen can play Freely or even get opportunities to play in the final XI

The only good bowl I saw was that against Shehzad,.. and Jamshed just got a bit unlucky.... other than that every other wickets were pretty ordinary....... nothing special in those deliveries... Our pathetic Batsmen mistook Jason Holder and batted like they were facing Michael Holding...:facepalm:
 
id rather be 23-4 with youngsters than imran farhat , kami and malik
 
hafeez never had any talent wen he came in to international cricket he looked useless
he then worked hard and became good bowler , but his batting is still same
so now he is exposed again and should b shown exit door or demote him to number 7

Let's hope shehzad and umar are given full run in this series and don get dropped because of the failures by Hafeez and Shafiq...
 
Afridi is always like that. Plays one good innings and then fails for at least 10 innings. I hope I am wrong this time.

If we win this match everybody will forget we were 23/4 or 47/5...The bad thing about winning is that you can easily forget your mistakes....
 
Pakistani batting needed urgent revamp especially the top order.it is the worst in the cricket world barring minnows.is this the best batsmen they can put up.then the condition is alarming

The problem seems to be with mindset not technique...
 
We surely won by a huge margin today because of Afridi...But we shouldn't forget we were 23/4 so we need to fix this top order collapse issue which happens in almost every match...

I am hopeful for Shehzad and Jamshed but Hafeez & Shafiq both don't deserves a place in ODI 11...Hafeez can only fit into it if he play at #7 while Shafiq is not really an ODI player TBH...

Moral: Never stop watching a Pakistan match...You know so many people still want to ssuicide :p for not watching those Umar Gul sixes live against Africa in World T20...They stopped watching after that famous collapse...

misbah was adamant in the post match about the condition and pitch, he even said you cant blame the batsmen.. I highly doubt there are any changes in the top 7 for next game
