New SS custom made cricket bat (Virat Kohli)

Finally after a log wait I have received my SS bat which I bought direct of SS. Told them to make me a exact bat like they do for kohli but in 2.9 weight. Received it today and it just looks absolute great. Also the balance and pick up is the best I have come across it feels like a 2.7 which is great for me as I always been using light weight bats. Ping is great too.
I been advised that the bat is ready to play and needs no knocking in or oiling by SS. What do you guys think shall I oil it or not?

How much did it cost?Hope it isnt over dried and is properly pressed.SS bats are normally known to be on the heavier side.And no stickers?

I got it direct from SS as I managed to get hold of someone who works their. Been told not to tell the price. It pings beautifully. This is 2.9 but it's balance and pick up is excellent and it feels light. I asked them for their best willow bat and as they make it for Virat Kohli.

Reason no stickers because SS has dealers in UK so they can't sell ss ton products hence plain and also as it's a custom made bat it comes plain as that's how they make players bat for them then they stick what ever stickers they want.

I have also ordered nike stickers to put on.

SS is getting very popular in last few years,so obviously they must be doing something right with their bats.Hope its not overdried to reduce the weight.

How do you find it in comparision to CA bats.People on this forum seem to prefer them.

CA are too over dried compare to SS. It's hard to get a top quality SS in 2.9 or less weight and CA you can get 2.7 weight top range bat because they over dry it and hence it starts cracking up very quick. I prefer SS as it suits my game more. And SS has a excellent ping. Also Ca bats are bit shorter which I don't like. Both SS and Ca bats are top quality depends on your style of game.

Oiling and knocking in is a must!! Both CA and SS make top quality bats. It's true that some clefts are over dried but both companies make sure that their top quality willow is not and they have moisture checks for those clefts regularly. I am sure most of the CA bats crack due to people reading the sticker that says ready to play and already knocked in, bats crack quickly because either you haven't oiled it properly or you didn't knock it properly. If you feel your bat is over dried , oil it from both sides.

Thick edges and no concaving. That's pretty nice for a 2.9; however I am not sure if this is the exact same copy of Kohli's bat or even if he gets his bat custom made from SS?

Bat is performing well so far. Ping is just great on it. Used it in about 5 games so far.

nice bat. i have a contact who had a limited amount of bats to kohlis exact specs. yours is nice and similar to kohli shape. quite a few ss are. main thing is u like the balance and the ping. enjoy
