As the series reaches its conclusion, Pakistan and New Zealand prepare to face off in the third and final ODI at Bay Oval, Mount Maunganui, on Saturday.

With the hosts already claiming an unbeatable 2-0 lead, courtesy of victories by 73 and 84 runs, they will aim to seal a clean sweep.

Pakistan, on the other hand, will be eager to turn things around, regain momentum, and end the series with a morale-boosting win. With pride and momentum at stake, will the Black Caps maintain their dominance, or can Pakistan finally crack the code?

Pakistan might end up getting whitewashed... want to see change in opening if usman is fit. Also give chance to Irfan instead of tayyab.

Glad I don’t bother watching anymore as long as Shafique, Imam, Babar, and Rizwan are still in the team.
Bro these are important times. We have to watch this lot to know what we DO NOT NEED.

We cannot tell people about what the team truly needs if we do not keep highlighting to the gullible masses how they have their priorities wrong.

You would have thought Pakistan cricket would have learned its lesson in 2023….2 years later you have a top 4 of Abdullah, Imam, Babar and Rizwan.

Nick Kelly playing his 2nd ODI looked more appropriate and better than all 4 of these players.

Abdullah
Imam
Babar
Salman
Rizwan
Tayyab
Faheem
Nasim
Sufiyan
Akif
Abrar

Take a risk play both Sufiyan and Abrar.

Praying for a Pakistani win. Let there be healing.

Pakistan need to understand home or away their pacers are worse than their spinners, so they need to groom more spinners. Everyone was asking for Suffyan but they kept resisting, and now in just few games he has become the most reliable bowler.

FGS this should be the farewell match for abd, imam, babro,tt and rizwan. They should never play for Pak ever again.
maaz,Azan,Saad Baig,Mohsin Riaz,Rizwan mehmood would have done a better job than these jokers.

KG was doing well but the nexus unfortunately managed to sideline him.
So right.

Saud also, not being allowed to develop freely and properly.

Sufyan and Abrar are bright prospects. But their real challenge will come when teams have enough data on them and batters will come better prepared at reading their hands.

Disagree with the saud part.Saud should stick to red ball and look to retire as 52+ averaging batter with 15 tons.

What's left to say ? Supporting a team isn't conditional on results but when you endure defeat after defeat after defeat - and you see no signs anybody in a position of power is trying to put together a long-term plan out of this mess - you lose all hope.

Even when we get our noses in front against a B NZ team, we still can't get the job done.

PAK at full strength is a very good lineup

Fakhar
Saim
Babar
Rizwan
Agha
Khushdil
Faheem
Shaheen
Rauf
Abrar/Sufyeen
3rd pacer

Bench strength is just rubbish though. Tayyab is garbage in such conditions and Niazi looks good without making any runs.

It doesn't matter what batting lineup they field if their bowlers don't stand up. The only time they won in recent times was when bowlers got some help and restricted the opposition. This lineup is not one of those lineups that can "out-bat" teams in flat conditions.

Well you can disagree,

But Saud is way more of a batsman than Rizwan is at least. You can get rid of Rizwan and then you will have to find players who are going to do that role properly at number 4.

Kamran, Saud and Agha have been the best middle order batsmen in Pakistan domestics for a long time whilst Babar was doing party time in the national sidez

Maybe it’s time to reverse the roles and force Babar and Rizwan to do the domestic grind like these guys have.

The Pakistan team tour of New Zealand:

The national squad has arrived at Mount Maunganui from Hamilton.

The Pakistan cricket team will practice tomorrow at 2 PM local time.

The third match of the series between Pakistan and New Zealand will be held on April 5.

All of this started when you arrogantly claimed Rizwan will create history at CT, and mocked other Pakistan players.

Pakistan has not won an ODI in NZ since a decade, may be all this started the rola rappa which you do all the time

Usman should come back for Imam. Abdullah needs to be given a kick if he fails in the last game as well.

Let Salman play at 4 while riz should bat at 5 now although he will not do that but yeah.

Bowling lineup is fine..

I think Agha is fine at 5 since he's comfortable at that position, no need to move him up. What Pakistan needs is a new batter at no 4. Rizwan should only play test cricket.

1) Saim Ayub

2) Usman Khan (i like fakhar, but the issue is he's getting old, i think usman or maaz need a run, bit preferrably Usman due to keeping)

3) Kamran Ghulam (On current form he's better then Babar, people need to stop living in 2019-2021 past. Babar use to be better in odi then Joe root. Not anymore)

4) Hussain Talat (Don't get why they dropped him, he's the best no 4 in domestic, Classic PCB, dropping an odi and no 6 test batter due to t20 performance even though he's a 125 sr batter in t20 🤦🏻🤦🏻🤦🏻🤦🏻)

5) Salman Ali Agha

6) Haider Ali (he's fine for no 6, and honestly he should be in our test team)

7) Mubasir Khan (Solid replacement for Imad Wasim)

8) Wasim Jnr

9) Naseem Shah (I'm nit aware of any replacements atm)

10) Akif Javed

11) Sufiyan Muqeem

2 spinners, 3 pacers, one part timer in Agha

@jamie smith fan What do you think of azan awais?

As far as I'm aware he's a solid test batter but hasn't kicked off in list A or t20.

I saw him batting however, he seems very solid technique wise though, although he tends to shuffle across a bit

Yeah but we cannot derail the match thread for such stuff..

Babar and Rizwan should sit out

Get Khushdil and Niazi in.

Get Usman Khan in

Get Muhammad Ali in for Rauf

4. Tayyab

10. Akif

Maybe swap Abdullah too.

Chances of that happening are zero.

Knowing thick tank of Pak, they will destroy the confidence of Riz Babar further and play some tullas in their place. According to thick tank of Pak, problem is:

Babar : average 55 and 19 100s
Rizwan: average 41, multiple 100s against the likes of Aus, dynamic skipper and keeper

Not the other tullas who average 15 and can't last an over if their life depended on it. Absolute joke and we deserve this humilaition.

Chances of that happening are zero.
I know

There is more likelihood of NZ calling in XI new players from their domestics to give international exposure towards instead of Pakistan backing its entire bench

Glad I don’t bother watching anymore as long as Shafique, Imam, Babar, and Rizwan are still in the team.
You, and those who have liked the post are part of the problem of Pakistan cricket.
You want to drop Babar from the odi side when he is one of the finest odi batsman going around and that too in a weak team like Pakistan.

I would also like to see both Spinners in the XI.
For the batting order, that might be Tahir Tayyab's last chance so I would mine him to bat at 4. I don't rate him at all, but Still it's not always easy to bat at 6-7.

Had you said this in 2019 I would agree with you but it's not 2019 anymore.

You're living in the past.

Nothing.
Maybe next time you can think a little bit before saying something. It might help.
Think like you do? Should I learn how to write what I must by following your role model?

The issue is that likes of you are still holding onto Babar Azam's performances from 2019, similar to how teenagers cling to their early crushes, making it tough for you to move on.

Most fans prefer to support players who are currently delivering results, rather than sticking with big names or established brands. In recent times, Babar Azam and Mohammad Rizwan have had mixed performances against full-strength teams.

Furthermore, the game has evolved over the years. Having four accumulators at the top of the order is no longer effective. As a number three batsman, Babar Azam needs to adopt a more aggressive approach, playing in a manner befitting his position, rather than adopting the cautious style of an opener on the first day of a Test match.

Babar had a 78 & 64 recently vs newzealand but then he had a string of 20's it's still not good enough for a number 3 batsmen

78 vs NZ c side, Will o rouke is their main bowler but their still missing their big guns, Satner especially who babar is a bunny against.

And that 64 came of 90 balls chasing 320. I watched that innings ball by ball and it was one of the most ugliest innings I've ever seen. It's a miracle he reached that far.

It isn't a well composed 64 by any means, I saw a has been batsmen barely struggling to make ends meet.

They not only lost the last match. Also lost 5% of match fee due to slow over-rate. This is 2nd match in a row. Will they breach again?

Pakistan penalised for slow over-rate against New Zealand in second ODI

Mohammed Rizwan-led Pakistan side have been fined five percent of their match fee for maintaining a slow over-rate against New Zealand in the second ODI in Hamilton on Wednesday.

Jeff Crowe of the Emirates ICC Elite Panel of Match Referees imposed the sanction after the visiting side was found to be one over short of the target after the time allowances were taken into consideration.

As per Article 2.22 of the ICC Code of Conduct, which governs minimum over-rate offences, players are fined five percent of their match fees for each over their team falls short of bowling in stipulated time.

Skipper Rizwan pleaded guilty to the offence and accepted the sanction, eliminating the need for a formal hearing.

The charge was leveled by on-field umpires Michael Gough and Wayne Knights, along with third umpire Paul Reiffel and fourth umpire Chris Brown.

This is the second consecutive instance when Pakistan have been fined for a slow over-rate. In the first ODI against New Zealand in Napier, which the visitors lost by 73 runs, the team was found to be two overs short of the target after time allowances were considered.

Trailing 1-0 in the series, Pakistan were bested by 84 runs as Mitchell Hay scored a career-best 99* to help the hosts post 292/8 in the first innings. Ben Sears led New Zealand’s charge with the ball, registering career-best figures of 5/59 to help bowl out Pakistan for 208.

The third ODI between the two sides is scheduled for Saturday, April 5, in Mount Maunganui.

2nd match in a row this has happened. It also happened against NZ in the CT match

That’s 3 in 4 matches. What are they ICC doing about this recurring issue?

Typically they would hand out bans for a match or two. Not sure what the new law is.

Azan is a good batter but not fit for Lois.
But on current form I would take him over Abd and Imam Parchi in Odis.

As Chanderpaul
Chanderpaul was a great batsman of his era... Rizwan is a no match to him...

Gayle , Hinds, Lara , Chanderpaul and Sarwan make up formidable batting lineup.. Marlon Samuels was budding that time..
They also had openers like Dwayne smith , Runako morton, devon smith who are waiting on the bench for their chances..

You don’t have a prayer with that top 4 & a cowardly captain who can’t pull the trigger even before a stationary target a couple of inches away.

Want to see more humiliation of Rizwan @Rana @RizwanT20Champ
Kaptaana is blessed and always has the last laugh. His haters ran away when he led Pak to demolition jobs vs SA in SA and Aus in Aus (same Aus that keep owning India). A minor blip here just shows he is human. Wait for the riposte. He is not called the Pakistani MSD for nothing. When the response comes make sure you're around.

That is not the same aus that kept owning india. Secondly Australia owned india in tests. In odi and t20 india is superior however Australia can usually pull an upset with a full strength side due to Travis head and bowling.

No aussie side is complete without Travis, Carey and Marsh in odi.

Atm in test cricket Pakistan stands no chance. India got demolished, Pakistan got brutalised in an even greater fashion

Chapman ruled out of 3rd ODI | Seifert remains with squad

BLACKCAPS batter Mark Chapman has been ruled out of the third and final Chemist Warehouse ODI against Pakistan at Bay Oval tomorrow with a hamstring injury.

Chapman was ruled out of the second ODI in Hamilton with a minor hamstring tear, and an assessment at training today revealed he has not recovered sufficiently to take his place in the XI for the final match of the home summer.

Tim Seifert, who was called in to replace Chapman in Hamilton, will stay with the squad for the third ODI tomorrow.

Not a bad replacement for New Zealand. He was excellent in the T20I series.

Aus won 1 test series vs India after a decade and that too at home and were spanked by railu kattas Nattaranjan and Saini LOL! They survived last time in Pak because of flat tracks although Head HTB got humilaited. If they face the same turning pitches as England did, Head will average 10.

They didn't survive, they butchered Pakistan into oblivion in that series.

he was demolished in all ICC events and came empty handed. On top of that he was humiliated by a NZ rookie bowler. He ain't coming back the corrupts pay the price.
