This is my list in order of merit of the technically best batsmen who averaged under 50.in test cricket. This does not ***** overall merit of batsmen but only technical correctness.

.Hanif Mohammad
.Vijay Merchant
.Colin Cowdrey
.Frank Worrell
.Geoff Boycott
.Lawrence Rowe
.Rohan Kanhai
.Martin Crowe
.Alvin Kalicharan
.Mark Waugh

.Glen Turner
.Gundappa Vishwanath
.Zaheer Abbas
.Desmond Haynes
.Ian Chappell
.Majid Khan
.Conrad Hunte
.Gordon Greenidge
.Graham Gooch

Hanif was simply the epitome of technical perfection resembling an architect,Vijay Merchant looked like a surgeon performing a successful operation on bad wickets,Cowdrey the closest technical equivalent of Len Hutton,Boycott resembled a boulder weathering a storm on many an occasion,Worrell the ultimate epitome of grace,Rowe was technically more proficient than even Viv Richards or Lara,Kanhai blended his genius with the most solid technique,Crowe and Mark Waugh could be more refined versions of even Greg Chappell with their amazing flow,Kalicharan was like a left-handed Kanhai , Aravinda de'Silva was the technical match of Sachin Tendulkar,Vishwanath and Zaheer Abbas blended artistry with great technical skill,Des Haynes had a unique flowing style,Turner could be as hard to dismiss as Boycott and Ian Chappell was the ultimate batsmen in a crisis.

The answer here is probably Sir Geoffrey, a very limited but perfect technique that allowed him to score against the mighty windies bowling as an opener at age 40+, as an opener in England no less, I don't think anyone has a feat that potent in comparision.

Don't know about Michael Hussey average but he seem to be the man with perfect technique
