Sarfraz Ahmed speaking:

On security arrangements - ‘Look, the security arrangements have been superb and we have no problem here, this is our country and we should support this event a lot’.

Message to fans
- ‘I would say to the fans, that definitely come to the ground, support the tournament and this match and the Pakistani players because your support is very important and it feels like our public is fully supporting the match and the ground will be fully packed and this match will be organised in a very good manner’.

On Quetta's conundrum with foreign players - ‘Obviously, the 9 matches that we played previously the same team won’t play and there will be a difference, but of the foreign players available we have made the best picks possible and we will try to play the best possible combination as well’

They'll definitely miss KP the most. Not only his batting skill but the confidence he brings to players like Ahmed Shehzad and co. Will be hard to replicate and Rilee Rossouw could've also regained his form on the big stage. Good luck to Quetta anyway!

They should rather play local boys than those foreign ones.

No offence to the replacement players but they're not close to the players they're replacing. However, T20s can be very close and a moment of brilliance can change everything. Hopefully it's a close final.

When Sir Vivian Richard is sitting in dugout, no problem who is playing and who is not.

Anamul Haq, Sean Ervine, Morne Van Wyk, Elton Chigumbura, Rayad Emrit

replacing

Kevin Pietersen, Rilee Rossouw, Luke Wright, Mahmudullah, Tymal Mills

not as bad as i thought.
most of em have good reputation and are popular in their respective countries.
chigumbura - one of the best hitter of zimbabwe.
anamul haque- Bangladeshi call him their sachin .. correct me iiw.
i dont think morne will get selected.
emrit is quite popular in windies league.
sean ervine is decent allrounder.

According to Cricinfo Zalmi foreign players still not confirmed. How come express news reported they are already in Lahore?

Not sure but don't you think the biggest culprit is Javed Afridi this time? He announced in social media that he has convinced the foreign players to come. People started backing the Zalmi's when they saw it. I myself was supporting Zalmi's cause they had comfirmed there foreign players were going. If any of them do not go would it not be a slap to the face of millions who supported them for this cause?

Pretty poor replacements compared to the Zalmi's overseas players.

Anamul is not even a regular for Bangladesh in the past 2 years. What Sachin are you talking about lol

Emritt is a pretty good T20 bowler. Not sure if the rest is better than Umar Amin, Bismillah Khan. Esp. Bismillah was pretty handy last year.

Chigumbura and Emrit's recent form are not promising at all, though could be decent options for t20 when in form.

Ervine has not played even a club game since September last year.

Anamul, while looks in a bit of form, is too slow for T20 cricket.

Morne has been doing brilliantly of late, so he is a positive.

I feel for Sarfraz. This is not what he wanted.

Why did they play the full quota of 4 foreign players? Why not play atleast Umer Amin and Bismillah Khan, who have been with the team the whole time, familiar with the conditions, and have played before at Gaddafi many times?

Quetta still did good by restricting them under 150. Wish they had two world class batsmen. Poor Sarfraz

There are some things which only Sarfraz can answer.

What Sarfraz should have done is played Umar Amin, Nasim and Shafiq when the Gladiator's were guaranteed of reaching the playoffs and it became evident that Roussow, Mills, KP and Wright were not going to go to Lahore.

Atleast they would have done some sort of preparation and form behind them going to the final rather than select the foreign drafts in the last minute...

Sarfraz has made huge selection blunders in this psl.

Playing Shafiq for 6 game in the tournament did not make sense as he did not play in the playoff and final so that experiment was a waste which costed a lot of games.

Playing Nasim as a batsman over Amin is a joke. Seriously, I'm not saying Amin is world class or anything but he is clearly couple of levels ahead of Nasim in batting department.

Playing Anwar Ali over and over again is a selection blunder again. The guy concedes over 40 in almost every game and fails to score 5 off last over but he is played as a MVP of this team.

Luke Wright sat out throughout the tournament, now seriously this is the biggest blunder he made. Agreed that they made it to the final but how can your best batsman from last year sit out for all matches?
