It's a shame that its been 20 years since the last victory down under,
1999/00 Hobart we where robbed blindly and then 2010 Sydney.
Probably one of my hardest defeat's to handle in life.

Some player's on that tour who never had the intention to win.Felt really sorry for M.Yousaf as captain.
You can't do much when some of the player's (key players) don't want to win

Yes..because you can read the minds.

Pakistan are yet to win a test in Australia after that yet they have the audacity to question India's overseas record.

Pakistanis lost due to suspect match fix type performances. India lose because they don't have the skill-set

If Misbah is still fit to captain Pak then he has a very good chance to at least win one game, not too sure about a series win since that is extremely difficult.

Was this the game where Mushtaq ran riot?

You got the wickets right but he played all 3 tests in the series.

He missed the 1st test and played 2nd and 3rd and took 18 wickets, but i remember we had a pretty strong bowling attack all series, sadly our batsmen let us down all series otherwise could have been a series we could have won instead.

Great Test. Interesting looking at the scorecard, Ijaz Ahmed wasn't the best of batsmen but his ton was vital in this game. Mushy took 5 in the 1st inns and 4 in the 2nd. Hopefully Yasir Shah can replicate Mushy's success next year, Mushy's on the coaching staff too.

The only way we can beat Australia like we did in Sydney 1995 is through low-scoring shootouts. We're not going to beat them when they put 400+ on the board. Our batsmen don't have the skillset to cope when the ball isn't bouncing at ankle height, they don't have the backfoot game needed to survive and score off the pacers.

As we saw in Sydney 2010, our best bet is to bowl Australia out cheaply which I believe we can as, barring Warner and Smith, this batting lineup can be got at and then hope our batsmen can limp to a decent enough total.

His poor captaincy was one of the reasons why we didn't win that match. The other was Kamran's suspicious wicket keeping that day.

Too often Pakistan has gone to Australia underprepared and already a beaten team.

Having said that they have been close on a couple of occasions of winnings Tests. The Gilchrist Langer one where Pakistan were robbed by the umpire and of course the Kami Test match spring to mind.

This was a response to the Indian chest thumping when they reached the no.1 test rankings back in 2011 and subsequent hammerings that followed in Eng and Oz.

Leg spinners are key in Sydney and remember ball always turn on late day 4 and 5.

Where else we can win? Batsmen has to score 300 runs to win. Getting Warner early is key, otherwise he takes away game in one session.

Pakistan might get some pitches with life in them next summer as a reaction to the rubbish served up this summer. The bowling generally gives you a chance but the history is that you don't take those chances when they arise.

Ijaz was a pretty good batsmen and scored 6 test tons against Australia in 14 tests and also scored 3 test tons in Australia including in perth. Ijaz was very good players of the horizontal bat shots the hook and the pull so he always thrived in Aussie conditions, even scored a test hundred in perth. His record for Hundreds per game Against Aussies is as good as batsmen like vaughan and laxman.

Axeman was very good against us.

Babar like his cousin will enjoy the pace and bounce as well if he's on the team.

Absolutely.

If Pakistan's batting line-up twelve months from now in Australia features Babar Azam, Umar Akmal and Salman Butt in addition to Azhar Ali and Asad Shafiq they will do well in Australia. Potentially very well indeed.

I don't hold any hope that Umar Akmal will learn and improve. Last tour he was obviously the work class talent in the batting line up but all we needed to do was bowl a rubbish ball, he would hit it to the fence, then bowl a good ball which he would try to hit to the same spot. Got himself out constantly when set.

The idea that Warner could do what Slater used to do is petrifying. He usually set the tone against Pakistan as well. Would get a life or two in slips and then plunder runs.

Humiliation has followed since  .

I hope we rectify our embarssing record in Australia soon.

Victory is far fetched thought in this case.

Pakistan is only team without any drawn test in Aus since then.

What a victory - so memorable!
