Whatever happened to Abdur Rehman?

Very memorable Test match. England's collapse was stunning.

I remember going out for errands thinking ok England will square and then beat us (they were ranked No 1) and then coming home and reading/re-reading that score on TV

Well this is the series they banned Our Prime Spinner.. Saeed Ajmal and M.Hafeez... I also Remember where shoaib Akhtar Rattled England in Multan.. That was treat to watch..

Now Our Test team Doesn't look that good.. !!!

Memorable win.

People forget that this was the Test match where Azhar and Shafiq established themselves in the team. If not for their partnership, we wouldn't have had a score to defend.

Whatever happened to Abdur Rehman?

To quote the fount of all wisdom "He bowled three consecutive beamers in an ODI match against Bangladesh on March 4, 2014 and had to be taken off for the match; he became the first bowler to concede 8 runs in one over without bowling a ball. After this performance in this series he has not been picked in all three categories ever since."

That was some game and series.

England were such a strong test team in those days.

No one gave Pakistan a chance and England were whitewashed 3-0 :misbah

I dont want to derail the thread but Shafiq is anything but established.

I was conveniently 'working from home' that day and watching every ball from the early morning. Every time a wicket fell, I would let out a primal scream. So loud was I that I woke up my parents who live next door to me;)

This was Pakistan as it best...

I wasn't able to watch match on that day..
but listened to match on Radio with my Brother and 3 cousins and evey time wicket fell there was a disaster in room...
My cousin became so much excited that he jumped continously on the bed and it broke.

what a day

top 5 favorite days of test cricket ever

The most remarkable win of the Misbah era. Have to feel sorry for England though - I don't recall a team getting whitewashed after competing so well in the series. They probably won as many session as we did.

I watched the whole game.

Misbah's captaincy was remarkable

credit goes to abdur rehman. THe guy had a terrific accuracy. He kept bowling in the rough, and picked wickets from there.

I remember this match. I had very low confidence we would win but it was an amazing fight back. I remember United losing to Liverpool later that day though but still didn't ruin my mood.

One of the few Test matches I completely remember. Abdur Rehman and Ajmal bowled the best spin spell in tandem in recent history. The win was made even more memorable because I was in Pakistan at the time and watched it with friends.

loved it..great stuff..watched this live as I had a day off..Ajmal, rehman were amazing..but we should have lost that match..great batting from Azhar and co helped us with a target..Just amazing stuff..

Some lovely moments post victory

I was at the game and when England needed 145 to win many of us had thought of leaving but how wrong we were!!!!. This was one of the best atmospheres at a match especially in the uae, the stadium was full to capacity. What a great game, England in all fairness have never recovered in test cricket since this series.

Along with the victory in multan in 2005, this has to go down as one of the best and enjoyable test wins over england. Number 1 side in world got humbled again.

The duo of Abdur Rehman and Saeed Ajmal, and the pair of Younis Khan and Misbah.

I miss those days of Pakistan Test Cricket.
