Happy B'day Wasim bhai. You are true Pakistani and a genuine role model for Indo-Pak peace . Wish every Pakistani thought on the same lines as you and there would have been no hatred between the two countries .

Happy bday Wasim bhai ! Awesome guy you are and a role model to all.

Please don't give a damn to what the haters say. :wasim

This must be one of Wasim`s happiest Birthdays ever after an historic win in the IPL which brought joy to millions of cricket mad Pakistani`s.

On This Day Jun 3, 1966: Wasim Akram was born

He turns 47 today.

Wasim Akram is often termed as best left-arm fast bowler to have played the game. There is reason to that thought as well - Wasim had it all: a complete handle over swing and seam, ability to move the ball both ways, well-direct bouncers, deceptive slower deliveries and much more.

Wasim represented Pakistan for 19 years making his ODI debut in 1984 vs New Zealand and Test Debut in 1985 (as part of the same tour) vs New Zealand. In both formats of the game he surpassed 400 wickets, 414 in Tests and 502 in ODI. It is important to note that Wasim Akram became the first bowler in cricketing history to reach 500 wickets. He achieved this milestone during Pakistan's disastrous 2003 World Cup campaign after which he was among 8 players to be dropped from the national side.

What is your favorite memory of Wasim Akram's bowling?

happy birthday to the best swing-bowler of all time :)

My favourite Pakistani player, wish him all the best for the future.

Happy birthday to the closest to a pace bowling genius-Wasim Akram. He was a magician who could do thinks with a cricket ball that no other paceman could do.No paceman ever had more variations or natural talent even if there may have been quicker or more accurate bowlers.Had Wasim done justice to his great reservoirs of talent he would have been the greatest pace bowler of all time.

the most flamboyant, charismatic and gifted cricketer of his generation, happy birthday legend.

Best cricketer of the 90's (for me) which says something when you look at the 90s players

2 WC finals (1 as captain)
500+ ODI wickets
400+ tests

God knows how many chances where dropped by our fielders, revolutionised the game with swing + reverse swing
Career slightly blemished with alleged controversies (none found true). Champion player for Pakistan, we should be proud to call him one of ours. Happy Birthday Wasim !

Exciting, entertaining, thrilling, brash and arrogant. A dream cricketer. I'm not sure if the world will ever see another Wasim Akram, not just his ability but the persona as well.

One of the best bowlers of all time BUT he still underachieved, in my opinion.

The most charismatic, stylish bowling superstar in 90's.

Hated him in 90's. But admired him whenever he had ball in his hands. Pure magician and can never forget that over to Rahul Dravid where he completely owned the Wall. Not easy to do to a batsman like Dravid.

Absolute magician with the ball! However, as many have said he underachieved due to quite a few reasons.
Even taking that into account, he is still one of the best fast bowlers to ever play. Testament to his talent.
Happy birthday legend!

Underachieved?! :))

Let some fast bowler take as many wickets as Wasim first then we might talk.

But drop catches and ridiculous umpiring cost games and wickets... :wasim

With his ability, he should have been one of the top 3 fast bowlers in Test cricket history which he is not.

Best ODI bowler ever without a doubt.

Happy birthday to my most favorite cricketer of all time!

Just watched about an hour of wasim clips that i have saved on my computer lol

A true artist and magician with the ball, he was truly blessed!

Among my top 3 greatest bowler ever, if not number 1. On a lighter note, i reckon,it would have been apt had he been born 3 days later ;)

I once saw him bowl a delivery that swung out and then dipped late and came back in.

Umpire didn't give it. He was furious.

Later the umpire was asked why he didn't give it. He said something to the effect of it wasn't physically possible that the ball could be coming back in, I thought my eyes were playing tricks on me.

There is a video of this floating around on YouTube.

Yeah. Actually went in and curved out late, not the other way around. Unbelievable.
