Kaepernick is quite gifted actually. He was among the best quarterbacks just a few years ago with all the hype around him. This Colin Kaepernick is out of NFL already.
From what I read he is mediocre and by making political statements on field, he ruined his career even further. Most NFL teams see him as a distraction.
Malcolm seems to be a very good bloke however there was a dark side to, what are people's thoughts on the not so good stuff like the black supremacy etc
Did he not disavow that ideology when he came back from Hajj?

He changed his stance later in life.
You should read his autobiography if you get the chance.
It had a big influence on me as a teenager.
What I took away from it was not the politics or religion but the story of redemption and the power of the human spirit.
It’s unlike any other biography, in that it was narrated as events were unfolding and you see the shift in his views and tone.
He had flaws like everyone else. But he was willing to challenge his beliefs at many stages of his life and change, which very few ever do.
Nice one for the info, is the book this one:

That’s the one. Narrated to Alex Haley.
Haley would go on to trace his ancestry back to Africa and wrote Roots based on what he found.
Enjoy! I think you’ll really like it.
Thanks, have ordered it just now should be a very insightful read. My head teacher always use to quote him outside the likes of Ali and Martin Luther King, I've only read about his connection to Ali given how I follow the boxing and the controversial nature of NOI but at the same time he inspired many people.
Ali didn’t believe that he could beat Liston in the first fight. Malcolm gave him the confidence and they were almost brothers from that point on. They separated which is Ali’s biggest regret but as a young man, he had no choice. Because those who crossed Eijah Muhammad, ended up like Brother Minister Malcolm X.

Malcolm exposed the fact that Elijah, who was the “prophet” that was born to save the black people from the white oppressors, has impregnated three of his teenage secretaries. He was warned not to do this but Malcolm risked his life to expose the fraudulent N.O.I. Their whole idealogy is a weird mixture by one Turkish immingrant. It’s mentioned in detail in one of the chapters. The N.O.I had helped Malcolm turn his act around and Malcolm helped them grow from a few hundred into thousands of strong supporters and represented Elijah on national television. Eventually, he made the fatal mistake of exposing Elijah and he was going to take the U.S. to the United Nations for denying the African American community their rights! He was murdered beforehand and had accepted the orthodox Islam a year before he died. I can’t tell you all about him in one post but if Ali had left Elijah after joining the Nation, he would have signed his death warrant. Just to tell you how feared they were at the time, the infamous “Phantom Punch” thrown by Ali to Liston in the second fight was a pure hoax. Liston deliberately laid down because he was afraid the “Black Muslims” or the N.O.I would hound him down. Also, what do you mean by he had no choice and crossing Elijah Muhammad?

I wasn't referring to the first fight as the one he took a dive in.That’s the popular narrative but the truth is Liston took a beating in the first fight despite cheating.
For the second fight he was older, out of shape and completely shot of confidence. He cane for the pay day.
He did what many bowers do and turned up for a payday and took a dive the first opportunity he got. To save face he later claimed he was threatened.

Liston's death to my knowledge was more related to the mob, not the N.O.I.When Ali left Malcolm and the NOI, wasn't he technically leaving Elijah as well? Or was it a matter of Ali specifically pledging allegiance to Malcom X and then leaving him, also; was Listons death linked to the NOI in anyway although rumour suggests it was figures from the underworld who dealt with him once he was past his sell by date
