Three Test matches played in Pakistan :

Pakistan v New Zealand at Karachi - Oct 10-15, 1990 : Pakistan won by an innings and 43 runs

Pakistan v New Zealand at Lahore - Oct 18-23, 1990 : Pakistan won by 9 wickets

Pakistan v New Zealand at Faisalabad - Oct 26-31, 1990 : Pakistan won by 65 runs

This was an amazing series; Apart from Waqar who had NZ mesmerized, Shoaib Mohammad topped the batting charts for Pakistan. Wonder why he could not cement his place?

Before this series, Waqar had 10 wickets in 5 Test matches at an average of 46.

New Zealand didn't know what hit 'em :waqar

To be precise, New Zealand knew exactly what hit them.

Which is why Chris Pringle openly and blatantly used a bottle top to ball tamper in the Third Test at Faisalabad, and took 7 wickets in an innings in which he suddenly resembled Waqar Younis!

It was too late by then.

The NZ team of that time blatantly complained about ball tampering from the home team throughout the series

Wonder what would've been the statistics of Two Ws in the current playing conditions where reverse swing dosent play a huge role.

From whatever highlights I've watched from the 92 england Pak series, Two Ws didnt came across as amazing new ball bowlers. Wasim wasn't a ground breaking new ball bowler and Waqar in his prime was exclusively an old ball bowler.

I do think Wasim would still be amazing with his height advantage and skill. Being a left handed bowler would also help him. When It comes to Waqar, he would definitely struggle without reverse swing as i think he was more of brute force bowler depending too much on the swing of the ball and less on the planning side of the game.

On This Day in 1990, Waqar Younis took 12 wickets in the match (7 for 76 and 5 for 54) and helped Pakistan defeat New Zealand in Faisalabad and win the series 3-0.
