Both Pakistan and West Indies will play a test series against New Zealand in the New Zealand summer.

Out of these 2 teams who do you think has a better chance of upsetting New Zealand? New Zealand are a strong team at home and usually beat lower ranked teams at home. Both West Indies and Pakistan have talented bowlers but very inconsistent batting line ups.

Who has a better chance of causing an upset?

Us but having a better chance doesn't mean much if that chance is still only like 1% :inti

I would give us about a 20 percent chance of winning a test. We are mediocre but if we get the combination right, we can win one test.

NZ batting lineup is kind of patchy. Latham is pretty good, Williamson is excellent (but he's a bit out of form in tests.) Taylor used.to be great but form what I've seen he seems.to have an age related decline, and hasn't really scored much in recent years. The guy is almost 37. The likes of Nicholls, Raval etc. are mediocre.

The bowling is a big threat though, I hope someone can manage to face Wagner and Boult.

New Zealand will whitewash both teams rather easily. They dominated India last season, not sure how anyone thinks these us and the Windies can even hope to compete.

T20 series can be won.

I think NZ will win both test series. Just wanted to know who has the better chance of causing an unlikely upset.

West Indies most likely. They have a better pace bowling attack than ours, experienced too.

Basically this. West Indies have ability to take 20 wickets. Pakistan on the other hand depend on Shaheen Shah (still a noob) and Yasir Shah (declining and ineffective in NZ conditions).

NZ should aim a double whitewash.

Doubt Yasir will get a game. NZ will most definitely prepare helpful tracks, which will automatically knock him out of the equation and force Misbah to play Faheem Ashraf.

Nah, Yasir will play at least 1st test. Misbah is super dooper defensive. I'll be (pleasantly) surprised if YS is dropped.

Plus Shah is probably our 2nd or 3rd best bat.

I think Pakistan has a better chance

New zeland should win the series 2-0 but you never know what could happen

WI will win 1 test but we will be whitewashed. Misbah is too defensive coach to win a test match in overseas.

West Indies has a better bowling attack and New Zealand's batting is a bit wobbly. Even though Pak's batting is slightly better, I expect Windies to compete better and even win a test.

Also the fact that, they're playing 3 and Pak are playing 2 puts them in a better position to win a test.

Pakistan has a better chance if they get the combination right.
I will be rooting for both windies and pakistan as we desperately need nz to lose some points to qualify for WTC.

West Indies.

They are currently a better Test side than Pakistan outside Asia.

Having said that, New Zealand should be bitterly disappointed if they don’t whitewash both teams.

WI are also playing 2 tests not 3

West Indies last won a test in NZ in 1995, so no chance. Pakistan has a better chance but most likely both will be whitewashed.

WI are more likely to take 20 wickets but I feel our guys are more capable of putting runs on the board.

I am concerned about pace attack, especially when 2 of our 3 pacers are very raw.

The series will finally show that Naseem shah has arrived

Pak to draw 1-1

I think both sides may get whitewashed. NZ are too good at home. Even India and England got beaten badly there.

Can't believe I am saying this but Pakistan should hope for swinging conditions.

Pakistan has a tremendous tendency to collapse in perfect batting conditions, giving opposition the runway to post big totals.

Swinging conditions will ensure that while the team may only score 180, the ability to take wickets remains.

Going by both teams performances in England, I'd give Windies the edge to nick a test. Not sure Pakistan can take 20 wickets outside Asia.

Yes but Pakistan have not been as potent recently with swing bowling conditions as they have been in the past.

Amir’s spell on day 1 in the First Test against NZ on a green mamba against Jeet Raval was a major fail, and Pakistan since then have just been very ordinary in all conditions with the new ball. The reason why you can say that we are mediocre or below par is because our bowlers have declined whilst our batsmen have started to show slight improvement.

I would be terribly disappointed if Pakistan are not taking the game into the 4th innings on day 3 if NZ do continue a trend of producing those green mambas.

Windies have certainly improved their test performances in last two years but in NZ, they generally get smashed apart. They have been competitive in England but fail to replicate that in NZ.

Pakistan also haven't done well in NZ in last few years but I think Babar is capable enough to challenge Williamson in the test format. But NZ bowlers are certainly much better in NZ conditions.

I think Pakistan has a better chance but NZ are very strong at home and depending on the form of Ross Taylor, the result will be decided.

Exactly swinging conditions pakistan will have a better chance if it's not swinging and the pitch is flat no chance Pakistan can make 350+ in both innings and tests.

True. I can't believe Yasir Shah was man of the series last time around. Hope yet.

Pakistan might do slightly better but still a whooping on the cards. Mans will still be watching shamelessly through the night as usual as our batting collapses yet again. :yk

Pakietan. They always had the psychological edge over New Zealand, more than any other sub continental team

That psychological advantage is long gone. New Zealand have won the previous two series between the two teams.

Both teams can....Wi batting is raw...Pak bowling is raw... Good chance....it would be a good series

Boult is in for a big hunt though....I will give both the t20 series to visitors ....

The series will finally show that Naseem shah has arrived

Pak to draw 1-1

He will fail like he did in Australia and England. But I am sure he will bowl a couple of good balls that his fans will celebrate.

I too have a feel this might be the contest between bowlers... Naseem would do good.....
