ISLAMABAD:
In a startling revelation, a National Assembly panel was informed on Monday that over 22,000 bureaucrats in Pakistan held dual nationality, raising alarms about national security.

As the NA's standing committee on Interior met here with Raja Khurram Nawaz in the chair, members sounded alarm over the practice and called for stringent measures to restrict the practice, especially for bureaucrats, judges and members of the parliamentarians.

Shocking if true. Only shows that a sizeable fraction of the Pakistani officialdom possibly has no faith in the country's future. How can any loyalty towards Pakistan or its interests be expected from such people? Or am I missing something?

What do you all think?

Forget bureaucrats, much of their establishment does too.

It is fair to ban dual nationalities for these people, and even for their kids.

No surprise to most people with Pakistani links. They are everything wrong with the country, and also one of the reasons why the common man has lost belief in the nation despite there being so much opportunity in a developing country if the basic government was set up to serve the interests of the nation rather than seen as a vehicle for individuals to access the treasury.

Bharat has been a poor country led by rich people who looked poor

Pakistan has been a poor country led by rich people who looked richer

This is surprising, I was expecting a far great number

People running the country having one foot in another country. Just in case if this boat sinks, they can always hop on to the other stable boat.
Every politician and bureaucrat with dual nationality should be banned from having access to sensitive information.

If Bharat offered dual nationality do you think it would be a similar situation?
