Pakistan's Noman Ali became the first spinner to register a Test hat-trick, completing a spell of 6-41. West Indies fought back to finish the first day of the second Test at Multan Cricket Stadium with a nine-run lead. Gudakesh Motie and Jomel Warrican shared seven wickets, but Pakistan were all out for 154 in response to the visitors' first-innings total of 163.

Mohammad Rizwan and Saud Shakeel contributed well to lift Pakistan with a 68-run stand for the fifth wicket, but Sajid Khan's unbeaten 16 off 20 balls was the last Pakistan batter dismissed. Kashif Ali was the last Pakistan batter dismissed while attempting to steal a single on the final ball of the 47th over, rounding off a 20-wicket day – 16 of which fell to spinners. Pakistan had dominated the opening hour of the day after Kraigg Brathwaite won the toss and elected to bat first. Noman Ali made history by becoming the fifth Pakistan bowler to take a Test hat-trick, first since Naseem Shah against Bangladesh in 2020. Motie, batting at No. 9, added 109 runs for the last two wickets, while Roach and Warrican supported him.

As Aaqib Javed defends Pakistan's spin-heavy strategy, the stakes remain high. While the pitches deliver victories for now, any slip in results could reignite criticism of the approach.

Seems to be the final day...lol

Hard to believe it would be the 2nd Day of this Test

I was glad to see Kemar Roach have a good day yday.

In his own way he is a legend of the game with a 16 years career (and still going) and it was nice to see him work over the openers.

He has had multiple evolutions - going from outright speed demon to canny seamer who can find solutions in all conditions . His career is a lesson for any up and coming fast bowler to emulate.

That batch of 2008-09 saw some amazingly talented pace bowlers announce themselves - Roach, Southee, Ishant, Siddle, Amir and it is great to see Roach as last man still standing with 280+ wkts and a proud body of work.

Westindies is likely all out around 70-80 odd runs and Pakistan to win by 8 wickets . Shan to Play agressive 40-50 runs inning.

Match will be over today.

I think this game is evenly poised.... Windies have better chance to win because batting in 4th inning will be even more difficult especially these Pakistani batters.

phainta incoming for pak bowlers, windies will score 300 on the back an athanaze ton

This batting group doesn't inspire much confidence and all that keeps coming to my mind is Pakistan vs SL in 2017 and failing to chase 136 and 2018 vs NZ where to failed to chase 176 and lost 5 runs.

WI will probably feel really good if they can get a target around 175.

I think best way to do something is get the kookaburra ball really old then the seam will wear off. Effectiveness will be gone.

Easy runs coming.... Make it tight as this game is going out of hands every over.

This is a pitch where you have to punish bad balls severely. Otherwise you won't score any runs.

This Kashif spends a lot of energy in his run up only to bowl a 128 kph trundling delivery. He is merely depending on the angle.

Final home test for Pakistan season

2vs BD, lost 3v eng 2-1 win, 2 v wi ..

Windies have certainly done a good job here... They can win this game.

Amusing to see WI having a better idea how to bat and bowl than Pakistan in this match.

Pakistan bowlers have not bowled proper line and lengths here , may be they trying too hard.

Another match lost due to Shan Masoods clueless cowardly captaincy in crunch moments

Pakistan fans must be missing this at their home ground. THey are reduced to seeing two spinners opening :)

156 kph ball cleaning up the batsman neck and crop on a flat wicket

This game is slipping out of hands... 150+ would be enough for these batters to fail

Run rate is over 4.5 , not bad , they are getting runs quickly. Pakistan need to slow things down.

Shaan, spreads the field easily and allows easy singles, not going to get wickets with limited fielders close by.

wasim jr or awais anwar would have been good on these pitches instead of the kashif trundler pro max

Noman is okay today with line and length. Just that WI takes chances against him. Sajid was garbage though. He was lucky that he was not punished enough.
