Pitch was sluggish but Pakistan batted on the same pitch and have had no issues. They simply were much better than us with bat and in the field, then our bowlers were just way off it and did not bowl well in these conditions.

It'll be interesting to see what the trend is for knockout games outside Asia featuring Pakistan, assuming they make it past the group stage in future events and are the underdogs.

If it's a continuing trend then you might be right. But for now the sample size is too small (2017 CT SF and 2022 WT20 SF) for me to draw any conclusions.

We lost 4-3 to ENG at home (could've been 6-1 without two miraculous wins), and were far from convincing en route to the Asia Cup Final which we completely botched on similar surfaces.

It's the wettest summer on record, which means no chance for the pitch to bake hard. So you can leave it green to get it lively for one day but then it will just die out and settle down after a day or two and lose pace- not quite hard as usual summer, as we see.

There's zero conspiracy here since a slow SCG is actually quite most similar to some NZ pitches anyway.

I'm not buying into any conspiracy as yet - as mentioned above the sample size is too small.
