What's new

Pakistan flags used during practice - Unnecessary jingoism or harmless display of national pride?

So, they do not represent Bangladesh and you do? ROFL!

You truly are a piece of work.

I urge you to stop getting your knowledge from biased sources.

People who have pipe dreams of surrendering the sovereignty of their country for a supposed khilafah shouldn't be trusted with their narratives.

P.S. Your unbiased sources are random fb groups which are run by extremists, terrorists & irrelevant individuals. I would prefer the media over those nutcases any day of the week.

Mostly Biharis & Mullahs. Mullahs of our country supported Pakistan even during our great liberation war. These biharis & mullahs are nothing but burdens for the nation.

Give it a rest. You are making a fool out of yourself. You are losing credibility every time you are writing something.

So, all the other Bangladeshi posters have fake narratives and you only have the right narrative. Got it. LOL.

Not everyone who disagrees with you is automatically a mullah. Also, I don't get everything from FB groups. LOL.

Stop reading Hasina-approved textbooks only and try to educate yourself with neutral sources. Stop being a sheep.

Are you implying Bangladesh only belongs to Awami League and its supporters? Are you implying anyone who disagrees is not a Bangladeshi? LOL.

I am not sure if you are aware how faulty your logic sounds like. Think about your logic for a second.

These "mullahs" are a significant percentage of the country. The fact you are dismissing them shows how clueless you really are.

He is actually making sense. It is you who is coming with arbitary numbers like 80-20 in Pakistan's favour etc. I have been in many Bangladeshi forums and most dont like Pakistan. They also dont like India but that is mostly cricket related due to BCCIs dadagiri. But dislike for Pakistan is due to politics and what happened in 1971.

Also, if 80% people in Bangladesh likes Pakistan why Seikh Haseena who is anti Pakistan keeps on winning election?

You like Pakistan and that is totally fine. But not sure why you are trying to force your opinion on others, especially on those people who actually lives in Bangladesh.

Not just me. Look at other Bangladeshi posters. They have the same view. Go through the entire thread. Check post #88 (it is written by an actual Bangladeshi from Bangladesh).

I know BJP supporters like yourself want Bangladesh to be India's lapdog but that's not good for any Bangladeshi with an ounce of self-respect.

She steals the election. Do you live under the rock? This is old news.

There hasn't been a fair election in Bangladesh for a very long time.

It is funny when Indians try to stick their noses without learning all facts.

How many Bangladeshi posters in PP? So just based on couple of posters you came to the conclusion that 80% people in Bangladesh loves Pakistan? And then you accusing other posters of making a fool of themselves? LOL

As I said, there is no definitive way of knowing this. You like Pakistan and hence looking into things from a green prism but not sure why you are somehow trying to pass your own preference as some sort of a fact.

This has nothing to do with BJP. Bangladesh and India always had good political relationship. People who still thinks 80% Bangladeshis loves Pakistan after what happened in 1971 are the ones who needs self respect.

BTW, I am a bengali myself. So Pls...give it a rest.

I did not reach conclusion based on PP. I am a member of different BD groups. I also have relatives in BD. I am not clueless about BD.

Also, I find it funny that you are giving weight to one Bangladeshi user's comment while ignoring other users. LOL. It shows you have your own agenda.

The fact you think Hasina won fair and square shows how little you know about modern BD politics.

Also, you are an Indian Bengali. Not a Bangladeshi.

His argument is flawed anyway. You can't relate some BD fans also supporting the Pakistan cricket team to voting for political parties lol.

Yeah. These people are embarrassing.

But, not all Bangladeshis are like this. It is only the thick Awami League supporters who are like this. They make me cringe.

This Rajdeep guy thinks Hasina has been winning elections fair and square. LOL. Funny.

It's a fact that majority of the mullahs are anti-national and have hatred for their own motherland. These fringe groups and their supporters have always considered Pakistan to be their actual nation and have a deep resentment towards bengali history, tradition & culture.
That's why my brother your narratives are fake, because you are basing your arguments & numbers based on these groups and their supporters.

It is not a fact and they are not fringe groups.

Just because you claim something doesn't make it a fact. LOL.

My narratives are certainly not fake and many Bangladeshis have same narratives.

Im denying the many's. Im saying those many's are mostly mullahs, anti nationals, & obviously jamat- e-Islami supporters.

They are irrelevant groups. These groups have no footprint in any mainstream media. They are ignored in educational institutions and have next to no political presence. Facebook is be all & end all for these groups :)) :))

Why do you think they are anti-nationals? Just because they want to focus on Islamic values?

I believe you are a Muslim. Why do you have a problem with that then?

You are only focusing on Jamati-e-Islami. What about BNP? Do you consider them as mullahs too just because they oppose Awami League?

They definitely have a significant footprint but you seem ignorant about it.

Also, the reason why they have little political presence is because Awami League makes opposition people disappear. Let's have a fair election and let's see who has the ultimate political presence.

Islamic values dosent require us to shed off our ethinic identity & start loving pakistan.
These Mullahs are anti Islamic & Anti national. They deny our liberation war, our constitution and the law of the country. They reject everything the country stands for.

Some may say Awami League people are anti-nationals because they turned Bangladesh into a dictatorship.

Do you think there is fair election in Bangladesh now? I do not expect you to give a straight answer.

Forget about the Pakistan part. Not sure why you and your party have to bring in 1971 and Pakistan in every discussion.

This tactic is getting old.

Try to answer the question without deflecting.

I haven't mentioned BNP because they've always publicly maintained their desire to have strong relations with India. They've also significantly distanced themselves publicly from Pakistan and talk of building a nation with people of all religious backgrounds.

There are no fair elections in Bangladesh & there never occured any. Bangladesh hasn't been turned into a dictatorship, it already has had its dictators in the form of Ziaur Rahman & HM Ershad in the past. Surprising though that an Erdogan supporter is having problems with dictatorship.

More deflection.

Your logic is basically anyone who disagrees with Awami League is automatically a mullah.

LMAO. I rest my case.

You may fool some misinformed Indians here but you are unlikely to fool the Bangladeshi posters. Try harder.

Muktijuddha Mancha filed a complaint with the Dhaka Metropolitan Chief Magistrate (CMM) court against 21 people, including the captain of the Pakistan cricket team Babar Azam.

Lawyer Md. Mahbubul Haque confirmed the matter.

He said a lawsuit has been filed against them for practicing Pakistani flag flying at the academy in Mirpur, Bangladesh. An order to this effect will be issued in the afternoon.

Meanwhile, 40 prominent citizens have strongly condemned the Pakistan cricket team flying its national flag during training in Mirpur and setting the venue for the India-Pakistan hockey final at Maulana Bhasani Stadium on Victory Day.

They also questioned the government’s silence on such incidents. In addition, the Minister of State for Sports Zahid Ahsan Russell, the President of the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) Nazmul Hasan Papon and the Hockey Board have also called for resignations. At the same time, they expect an official message of apologies and confessions from the government of Pakistan.

Now sweep_shot will say Muktijuddha Mancha is BJPs B team and only doing to appease Indians. In reality 80% people in BD loves Pakistan because that is what people says in various internet forums.

Muktijudhha Mancha and groups like this can only benefit India.

Muktijudhha Mancha is hilarious. They think they are the center of the universe or something.

Also, only 40 citizens complained. It is not like there were big riots or big protests.

I am very glad vast majority of Bangladeshis didn't make this a big deal as it would've looked incredibly stupid.

https://www.newstimeworld.com/pakistan-cricket-teams-appeal-against-21-members-rejected/

A Dhaka court has rejected a petition filed against 21 members of the country’s cricket team for displaying Pakistan’s national flag at the Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium in Dhaka’s Mirpur without permission from the Bangladesh government.

Dhaka Chief Metropolitan Magistrate (CMM) Additional Chief Metropolitan Magistrate Abu Bakar Siddique passed the order on Thursday. The information was confirmed to the media by the bench assistant of the court Parvez Ahmed. The court noted in the order that the government has no sanction to file the case. Therefore, the application to take the case was rejected.

Mohammad Al Mamun, general secretary of an organization called Bangladesh Muktiyuddha Mancha, filed the petition today. The court first recorded the plaintiff’s statement. The plaintiff’s application was later dismissed.

After filing the petition, the plaintiff’s lawyer Anis Uz Zaman said that according to the Bangladesh flag rules, the national flag of Bangladesh is a symbol of independence, sovereignty and dignity. In order for a foreign national to display his country’s national flag in this country, prior approval of the government is required.

However, members of the Pakistan cricket team displayed the country’s national flag at the Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium in Mirpur on November 15. But they did not get any approval from the Bangladesh government. They later applied to the Bangladesh Cricket Board for permission to display the flag. Through this, the members of the Pakistan cricket team have committed a criminal offense under the Bangladesh National Anthem, Flag and Symbol Order 1972. Therefore, a petition was filed in the court against 21 members of the Pakistan cricket .

Been seeing some videos of Bangladeshi fans harrassing a few Pakistani cricket fans (from Bangladesh) in the stadium on social media recently.

Looks like the intolerance against fellow countrymen supporting another team in cricket is not just limited to the Indians.

You have all sorts of people in Bangladesh. Not everyone is the same obviously. There are some who don't like Pakistan. There are others who have no issues with Pakistan.

But, I think the problem is far more present in India than in Bangladesh.

Well obviously the dynamics between India and Pakistan, and Bangladesh and Pakistan are vastly different. But still didn't expect harsh reaction from BD fans on some of their fans sporting Pakistani jerseys in the stadium.

Pictures (courtesy of the PCB) from tonight's practice. Seems like one player is given the task per practice - this time it's Asif Ali

Amazing practice... Reminds the players what they are playing for.

Nauman Ali...

Has the Indian reported on Nauman Ali carrying a Pakistani flag in Pakistan.

Arnab Goswami must be fuming right now.

Pakistan continuing with this practice in Sri Lanka.

It's a good thing if it motivates the players. A good reminder of who they are representing.

I've always thought about this during our respective national anthems in cricket matches. We are taught to stand upright at attention when the Indian national anthem is being played.

Whereas the Pakistani players had a more emotional connection to their anthem being played with them placing the hand on their hearts. I assumed perhaps it is the standard practice in Pakistan with Pakistanis placing their hands on their hearts when their national anthem is being played.

I wouldn’t think it’s a standard practice, in military school for me briefly it was either as you say standing upright , I can’t remember completely but may have had hands behind the back to but never had a hand on the heart that’s for sure. With the cricketers maybe it’s a matter of preference

US sports team do it with hand on heart as well. Any time national anthem is played, most here do it with hand on heart.
