Pakistan must do whatever they can to hire Trevor Bayliss as their coach when he becomes available

It's as simple as that. I think he is the only guy in the world who can assess the weaknesses in our batting and transform us into a modern batting unit. Even if that means to pay over the odds for him, otherwise we are doomed as a limited overs side who would rather be scared, bat overs with a majority of dot balls.

He would never become Pakistan coach because he was SL's coach during SL team attack in 2009 and might have a mental trauma

Bhai no one man can fly in and fix Pakistan cricket. Pakistanis will have to do it themselves. Starting from the very top right down to school college level. You cannot expect cricket to flourish with political appointments at the helm. Our only hope is that the new government in 2018 does not appoint their stooge as the head, instead they chose a guy who deserves to be there on merit.

It's not going to make a difference. Need to start sorting things from grassroots levels and sort out domestic cricket.

The problem with Paksitan cricket is so much more than just the coach. It's stupid people keep thinking there's an easy fix in personnel when Pakistan ODI cricket is so far behind the top sides like Aust, SA. India, NZ & England, it's not even funny anymore.

Arthur is a better Head coach than Baylis. Engaging even one Woolmer with every player won't help much if -
1. Domestic cricket/wicket doesn't improve by some level
2. Players for right format is selected
3. Genuine fitness test is conducted (which should filter out players in 30s after faking 3 to 7 years of age)
4. Imran's scouting for bowler is implemented - that's 16 to 19 years is debut age, 29 to 31 is retirement age - official age that is
5. Proper captain is appointed - some one who understands the core of the cricket culture - that's attacking, free flowing cricket; not this UAE model, neither opening with a darter in early June, UK morning
6. Players are humiliated in public for selfish game - humiliation doesn't mean calling names; but one can explain the story & characters perfectly by explaining a situation. Head is cloud type motherhood statement doesn't work, if people don't have shame.
7. Stop bashing BCB for Hollywood fictions - scripted, produced, drirected & edited by own people - rather, should look at how they are managing with limited budget, limited infrastructures and limited talent pool
8. Stop thinking players (talent) is a coconut that you shake the tree & couple of Akram & Saeed will drop from sky on your lap.

We found a pinch hitter last match but dropped him, we found another opener but didnt select him. We have got grassroots problems but when you select the wrong team it doesnt help. Shezad and Hafeez please tell me why they were selected esp if hafeez couldn't bowl

a) We didn't need a pinch hitter for this game. And he would have played in place of Shadab our most impressive bowler

B) it was a one off innings in a warm up math against Bangladesh. His domestic average is 15 for a reason

Brilliant as usual and on the spot. MMHS

Bhai problem is the players not the coach. Give Mickey better players and he will produce better results.

What difference will another coach make when the selectors keep on giving the coach so much rubbish to work with?

Delusional thread. Bring in any coach you want. Will not make ounce of a difference.

What will he do? Tell shehzad to be aggressive and take singles?

I'm pretty sure Mickey Arthur and Waqar Younis have been doing/did the same.

Even 5 Bayliss would not be able to do anything.

Pakistan does not have the talent to tap unlike England . Also , Players are not hard working enough to work on there skills. Its really disappointing.

Sorry brother but dont agree with the statement that Arthur is a better head coach than Baylis. Arthur other than his home team South Africa for which he had reasonable success, there is nothing in his plate to offer. Remember he was sacked by Cricket Australia. Bayliss did a great job with Srilanka and England and has always been a successful coach even in leagues e.g Coaching KKR.
