I have been seeing off late that the likes of Shaheen, Hasan Ali, Naseem Shah and Co have all been bowling a good 10-12 km/hr slower than their peak speeds.

These Pakistani players readily play all formats ie T20's, ODIs and Test matches during the year, they also play in all the T20 leagues, county games, domestic matches available to them.

This is not sustainable and it is no surprise to see the pacers starting to slow down and show ineffectiveness.

In contrast look at how Australia manage Starc, Cummins, Hazelwood, they don't play these players in every ODI and T20 game, the first priority of these top 3 Aussie pacers is to play Test cricket for their country and they only play the most important bilateral series and ICC tournaments but this pair is always rested for dead rubbers or inconsequential series. Cricket Australia also ensures that these pacers are not burning unnecessary miles in foreign T20 leagues except for IPL and Starc has in fact dropped out of the IPL.

Pakistan has a rich pool of pacers to choose from in the national and domestic set up. Surely the reserve pacers should be made to play the ODIs and T20s whereas the first choice pacers should only be used for the most important ODI, T20 games and should be first priority for test cricket.

They should manage Shaheen how SA managed Dale Steyn. You want your best at their best in key games and tournaments

Not sure if Pakistan have the same bench strength as Aussies.

However, Shaheen should definitely be managed better. I don't know why he plays bilateral T20s. He can be rested in those games.

Only Shaheen probably needs workload management. Others don't bowl as much. Especially not Naseem..

Hasan Ali plays in different T20 leagues and county. He plays for Pakistan as well. His bowling speed and effectiveness is diminishing now, his workload needs to be managed.

Pakistan has many pace options to choose from

Ie Shaheen, Hasan Ali, Faheem Ashraf, Naseem Shah, Mohd Hasnain, Haris Rauf, Mohd Wasim Jr, Sameen Gul, Arshad Iqbal, Zaman Khan etc.

A lot of these bowlers can be used in ODIs and T20s to save the likes of Shaheen, Hassan Ali from burnout from playing all formats

Agreed.

I noticed the same while watching Srilanka game today. Hasan Ali was bowling at the same pace as Pandya. Naseem Shah bowled few at 140+ otherwise avg was around 130s as well.

No bowler needs workload management, pakistan hardly plays 6 to 7 test matches on average per year unlike Eng or Ind who play 14-15 test matches per year . If still these bowlers require workload management then it us better they retire from Test cricket like Aamir.
At workplace or at job, do employers ask for workload management ? 40 hours 5 days a week per year. We get paid for work. These test cricketers also get paid way better than most people and it is their job to play & deliver.

Such soft policies have ruined pakistan cricket.

Pakistan doesn't have the capacity or the ability to do so as they've played their players even against Zimbabwe.

Burnout is what actually takes them down.

No need for guess work.

Since 2020, only Southee has bowled more overs than Shaheen. Since 2021, he sits at the top. Talking about seamers here.

Shaheen is clearly being overworked and the signs are abundantly clear. He is exhausted and down on pace.

This isn't how premium pacers are managed.
Its a physical job and takes toll on your body, sometimes permanently. Can only hope Shaheen's injury isn't serious.
