I can't think of a better modern overseas batsman who has done so well in Australia. Pakistan's biggest flop has been performances in Australia and this if this continues we will be never become a true World no.1 team. Cook can implement a new approach in our next generation of batsmen on how to prepare and play in Australia.

I think PCB should seriously consider involving a professional like Cook in Pakistan cricket. May be even start with hiring him in PSL to start with.

I think he's in his early 30s. He is going to play County cricket and, may even make a return looking how bad Eng batting is.

This is not even an option. And, no player becomes a Coach/ consultant as soon as they retire. They take some 3 - 4 years of rest to spend time with their family. Give some practical options if u need to.

And, I am not even adding his thoughts. He may never ever accept this position, especially with Pakistan cricket.

I cannot see how Cook will return to the test team. Yeah he may not consider to work for Pakistan cricket but it is worth a try. I am not saying to offer him a full time role. May be see if he is interested to work on a 2 or 3 weeks contract and if things work for both the parties then he can engage for a couple of months in a year.

I know Cook will now want to spend time with his family but off season when there is no county cricket he may consider opportunities. This by the way will also enhance his own credentials as he may work as a full coach for England or any other country in future.

Our batting was not the problem in Australia

I know we struggle in all facets of the game in Australia (reminds me of Hafeez). So we are poor in batting, bowling, fielding and general behavior.

But if our batsmen start to score some runs there then it will certainly help.

No, I mean our batsmen did as well as could be expected last time around.

Cook cannot teach them to play under pressure

Joke Thread, Cook is still a player for atleast another 5 years.

Cook will be playing county cricket for a long time yet. At least 3-4 years if not 5+.

Don't see it happening as Cook will play county cricket and also has a young family who he will want to spend time with.

Lol batting coach isn't the problem. Psychologically, these boys are meek. The talent is there, but they just can't play under pressure and nake poor decisions.

Misbah would be a much better and a viable option. He has played all forms of cricket, is educated and will have the player's respect in the dressing room.
