Pakistan tail along with Agha Salman need to stand their ground and get them as close as possible to the 657 number.

High time for one of my favourite Test match cliche statements ahead of a session. . . .

“It’s a big morning”

I still get the feeling England in box seat to win this.

Into the tail and remove them in an hour or 90 mins...

Bat furiously for lead of 400-450.

Ask Pakistan to bat for 4 sessions to save the Test on day 4/5. Never easy to do. One or two errors and the pressure builds enormously. Maybe the pitch finds you another one or two...

I must admit I am worried about this match.

England will look to take the last 3 wickets quickly and then hammer the ball around.

Pakistan batting on the last day - anything is possible if they lose early wickets.

Pakistan need another 50 but if England smash another 200 it could trigger a collapse. Shouldn't be a result on such a benign surface

Pakistan has to have a defensive strategy to slow them down just in case if they don't strike early.

I don't expect anything dramatic. Pakistan will probably reach 600. England will probably do their Bazball batting. I expect England to have a lead of around 250 by the end of the day.

For Pakistan to score 600 and England to only have a lead of 250 by the end of the day, you think they will only score 200 today? You must be living under a rock these past 6 months then. England will smash 200 in around 26 overs. They will lead by 400+ and give Pakistan 4.5 sessions to bat.

I expect Pakistan to bat for almost half of the day (slow batting). Pitch is flat.

So, yes. I think England will probably end up with a lead of 250 runs by the end of the day. There is also the bad light factor.

I don't think England's bowling is good enough to win it on this surface.

Will Jacks somehow got 3 wickets despite bowling pies

Pak to win iA. We’re at the endgame :thanos

Chase will be like England’s in 2000. Bad lighting, but Azhar smashes the winning runs and rides off into the sunset. Signing off as Kohli, king of chase Pakistani version.

Somehow on this run fest of a pitch, Anderson still going at under 3 runs an over.

He’s proven his class time and again especially over the last 12 years. Only blind haters believe in the myth that without cloud cover and/or in Asia he’s bad.

Not a fan of this “farming” strike approach - you miss out on easy runs

Yep, only against Australia & SA, his averages aren't great but those teams have been elite Test teams for the past couple of decades (not so much for SA in recent times though).

Fun stat that is not all that fun: Anderson has by far the lowest economy in his career vs Pakistan at 2.35. All other teams including Zimbabwe, he has a higher economy against.

Lahore Qalandars talent production is good. Well played Salman.

Salman is an old fashioned gutsy middle order batsman. U could have bet on most Pak batsmen to throw it away early in the morning today

Heading towards Draw. You just have to look at the pace and bounce of this track before telling you can take 20 wickets here. Even tailender can score a 100 if he puts his mind to it.

Like always we have made hero out of nothing bowler like Jacks. Such a soft dismissal by Salman, anyway well played.

England's garbage club level bowler in Jacks somehow has 4 wickets in the match on this dead pitch. Only reason he is even pitching is because of Livingstone injury.

Just so typical of Pakistan.

Update on Haris Rauf

Haris is available to bat in the first Test but will not be able to bowl due to a strain in his right quad.

Haris rolled over the ball while fielding on the first day of the match.

If only we had a spinner who’s young, showed promise and had an excellent season in the most recent FC domestic circuit to take advantage of this day 4+ pitch…

I guess we’ll just hope for the 37 average in domestics bowler to do it

101 overs by English spinners. Rest shared by seamers. 47 overs to be precise. 40 overs by Pakistan spinners 61 overs by Pak seamers. England has managed their seamers better

Another bowler down at a crucial juncture Vs England :facepalm

Big blow for Pakistan...

Will Jacks now chasing a 5fer on debut. Would be one of the more dogged and unlikely bowling performances on this motorway. . . .

Are you high or what, if your main spinner zahid is going at 7 run per over of course fast bowlers would have to bowl more, it's other thing why Zahid was selected over Abrar.

In next match they might still play this record breaking rubbish spinner zahid again citing his batting ability, that's how dumb this thick tank is.

A rubbish Wahab Riaz clone going down is not bad news for Pakistan. If Pakistan are to save this Test it will have to be achieved by the batsmen.

The pathetic bowlers led by jokers like Naseem & Rauf already did their bit by getting smashed at 6 runs per over & giving England enough time to try & force the result in spite of the fact that over 1100 runs were scored in the first two innings.

You could bowl defensively with defensive field set on one side. Not like Pacers covered themselves with glory. THey went around 6 an over. Spinners 7 an over.

Meanwhile West indies is putting up some fight. Can they pull off an Ashwin/Vihari partnership

Oh my my my....

We deserve this humiliation 😋

If we had Yasir of the old and any other spinner with him, I'd actually be excited for a long shot chance of Pakistan bowling out England or going close.

Unfortunately with the current bowlers it's just play safe and be on the backfoot forever.

Actually even Nawaz / Shadab would have given us a boost

Wao why would you try to be buttler here, get lost loser. Talk about self destructing.

Pakistan never gets the benefit of doubt on borderline decisions compared to other countries

Letting Jacks get a 5fer on a flat pitch. :)))

Awful batting by the guys who couldn’t get going on such a feast of a pitch.

Yeah it's not why he got out it’s about why play that unnecessary reverse sweep. What was the need and was he good enough to pull it off.

Probably just quick runs at this stage

Pakistan a bowler down with two days left.

Funny that Rizbar couldn't fully capitalise on a surface they're only capable on

78 runs lead is big on this pitch. Pakistan will need to work hard for the draw.

Morning gents

Pitch still looks the same as it was on day 1

Wao 136 is a failure, is he Babar or Bradman? Give your hatred some rest. Now the actual fun begins, guess England run rate, i think even 10 pro is possible vs this sorry bowling line up of ours. If we. had peak yasir and. Shaheen I would have given pak more than a chance to even win it form here.

Pakistan continue to make mediocre bowlers champions , Jacks gets six wicket haul on debut

For a FTB on a road that's gotta be a disappointment. He wasn't playing at the Waca. 7 players have scored a century this match, one short of the record.

Root should have had a triple century too

6fer for Will Jacks on the flattest track of all time. Absolutely criminal.

An overall decent effort from England across the first innings to be honest… very hard toil for an away side.

Excited to see what happens next (LOL) I can’t see England scoring more than a very quick 250 with the approach they’ll take.
