.....If not even a 1000 run first innings.
There are 360 overs of play left. 358 if you allow for change of innings.
We only need 130 ( absolutely damn max to get them out again. If we can't do it in 130 we don't deserve to win!!)

So we have potentially 228 overs of batting.
Score at 3.7 RPO from here and we get to 950!!

I'd back nauman and Hasan to get quick 50s here

I guess we will no more in about 12 hours!!

Agree let's make a memorable world record and snatch that 952 Highest innings record from Sri Lanka.

Pakistan : First ever Test team to breach the 1000 runs barrier.

Not really we just need about 250- 300 lead

So 450- 500 and if we are still batting just declare

Hopefully the batsmen up their pace and we have Zimbabwe batting at the end of the 2nd day , but by 3rd day we should have them batting gives plenty of time and 300 lead is more than enough .

Winning comes first be ruthless and do it quickly

I know what you mean, but lets be honest the game is up already

Imagine we collapse in 1st hour and Faheem/Hasan have to bail us out :yk

Pak should play sensible cricket within their limits and force a Win instead of chasing useless records :srt

I think we should try and finish this test within three days and give our guys enough rest before the start of the 2nd test match. I am sure Rizwan will appreciate this as he is fasting everyday and will love to use the extra two days of rest.

Another bumpable thread.

OP thinks we are India/England and capable of record scores here. We are barely better than Zimbabwe.

At the rate we are going, we will achieve the 400 mark by tomorrow night.

Records carry weight vs good opposition.

I'd settle for a convincing win.

You can expect a small team with a minnow mentality like Pakistan’s to chase such records, but unfortunately or fortunately, we don’t have the batting prowess to establishing the highest Test score in the world even against an U-15 attack.

The top sides would have broken the record by now if they really cared. At Adelaide in 2019 against Pakistan, Australia declared at 589/3 at a run rate of 4.6.

If they really cared, they could have scored 1,000 and would have still won with plenty of time to spare.

Warner was 335 not out when Paine declared. Not only would he have smashed Lara’s record, he could have scored 500 as well.

Given that we are batting at a run rate of 2.64 against what is effectively a club level attack, I think the only record we'll be breaking is the lowest ever % of balls that are scored off by any opposition against Zimbabwe.

Nothing wrong with looking to go big and rub the opposition noses in it.
The OP is based on the game being WON already, so let's not worry about that.

Yeah, these innings are those average booster ones. Make the most of it.

Imagine being billed as the next coming of Tendulkar and then you give a soft catch to get out first ball against Zimbabwe

Should have been close to 550+ but looks like we wont make that.

413-9 against a club level attack and people were dreaming of breaking the world record score. :)))

Just be thankful we have made over 400.

With this batting line-up, making 400 versus probably the weakest bowling line-up in Test cricket is an achievement.

Same level of batting display would yield a score of 200-250 against a world class bowling attack.

Both our batting and bowling is minnow level.

They really overestimated Pakistan. Feel bad for Warner.

Looks like another chance of something big from Pakistan - the 550+ region is something they could go for.

Limping to 400 against a club level attack on a flat pitch. :91:

Definitely not limping to 500.

Nauman out here putting the top order to shame. He’s singlehandedly taken the run rate from 3 to 3.4.

Our tailenders bat better than our top order. Time to reverse the batting lineup like Bradman did

It has always been the story of Pakistani cricket even when we won WCs or CTs, our lower order always delivers

The top order grinded them down and the bottom order just put the finishing touches
