According to reports, Pakistan’s upcoming tour of the West Indies will now feature five T20 matches instead of the originally planned One-Day Internationals (ODIs). The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) and Cricket West Indies (CWI) made the decision together, focusing on preparations for the 2026 T20 World Cup.

Why not just hold odi's first and then t20? I'm not a fan of 5 t20's. 2026 is still ages away. Some odi should be played to develop the 2027 team.

However on the other hand im not upset either. Odi performance even medicore ones vs WI would give ba/riz an excuse to come back.

I am guessing scheduling extra T20's will help/count towards their T20 rankings which is quite pedestrian at the moment. They need to find a way to get into the top 6 to qualify for the Olympics if I remember correctly.

I think it is not a wise move to just kill the whole ODI setup. Team should stay relevant with all formats but I think both boards have already decided that it will be 5 t20s now.
