Lets enjoy the footy

I hope the footie is much better than Pak's batting! We certainly need it to be.

Hope the players can pick themselves up before the next ODI.

atleast.... erm.... :13: atleast......... :)))
oh well lets hope for better in the final 2 odi's. we can do it, the key is to learn from these mistakes.

sorry to see pakistan lose, but a very entertaining game nontheless.

I suppose Pakistan is paying the price of not playing enough and constant change in the setup of the national game.

But there are also some positives, we have found a quality opener, Afridi is bowling very well and Younis is a captain who has the respect of the team.

Hope the result of the next game can be in Pakistans favour.

thats what i like to hear. we can win it 3-2.

like geoff boycot will say..you have to play pretty aweful to lose a match like this when you got a perfect start..well 2 wickets on 2 balls..happened 3 times..1 just wanna be with the player just left the pitch..

Well, I can't believe I am saying this. Butt played like a Bradman, I guess then.
Never expect anything normal with the Pakistan Cricket team. :)

YK is the skipper, we need to give him time to gel with the new unit. The whole squad is selected with YK's input and the playing 11 is selected by him as well. Give him time to get his philosphy in. We have not had enough games under him to raise the red flag yet. Sometimes these embarassing losses can be beneficial for the team in more ways than other.
I believe in YK and his judgement. He is the leader and no leader will give immediate results.

time for grandpa misbah to step aside..yeh maybe faisal iqbal can do lot better than what we have now..asim kamal any1?

You gotta give it to Australia though. They are fielding a B team and had to defend a low score. They battled right till the end and never gave up the fight. But then this is Australia. A B C or D Team - what a team!

This thing about playing positive cricket got into everyones head. Instead of a slow and steady approach we wanted the blazing glory approach!

A lesson for the fans as well and their inane desire to see 4 and sixes.

This is one of those games where OZ played terribly but still somehow won. I'll give them credit for at least not giving up and having a go when all seemed lost at 0/89, but geez it was an ordinary performance all up.

seems like the pakistani tradition of collapsing to australia continues even after mcgrath warne et al are not even there

I am really disappointed. Even the target of 198 isn't enough for our batsmen. I really liked the mature inning by Shoaib Malik who has stayed on the crease to make sure provided little hope for the team, but unfortunate run out has cost him and therefore, has changed the destiny.

Irresponsible shots by Younus, Misbah, Afridi and Kamran during the under pressure. I always maintained my statement that protect the wicket no matter what but the run will automatically. Sadly, some of our batsmen were in hurry to speed the run rate up, and therefore, has changed the destiny. It was the slow pitch, and supposed to be slow scoring contest game.

I am surprised after the brilliant start from Butt-Ahmed partnership has put Pakistan in top position for a while, and then sudden collapse has changed the whole story.

Pakistan lost, ok, but Pakistan is still a better side than australia, believe it or not. Pakistan didnt lose coz of good cricket from australia, it was only that the pakistanis didnt use their brain.
Everyone wanted fours and sixes but all pakistan needed was 3-4 runs pr over after the good start by openers.

They'll also collapse to the likes of Chigumbura, Utseya etc; the way things look at the moment!

Mate at the end of the day people wont see who played well or not its all about who won on the day I am afraid to say

Asalaam alikum wr wb Brothers;

you can say that again all of us in immense pain !. I am normally resident in UK but am on holidays for three weeks in lahore, pakistan ( Coming back to london,Uk on 3rd of may :( **. I was watching the match live on Ten Sports here from pakistan and enjoyed the match uptill the self destruct session. We were cruising with butt and shezhad( i watched ahmed shezhad for first time and was impressed !) at it was at 95 when the first wicket fell but i never watched the first two wickets fall. When pakistan were at 88/0 my wife shouted that zaid hamid is live on AAG channel with Ali Azmat as presenter hosting the show " Iqbal ka Pakistan" and since pakistan were in such dominating position i scrolled through to channel AAG to catch glimpse of the ever popular revolutionary defence analyst Zaid hamid as i love this guy for his service to pakistan. After 15-20 minutes i changed the channel back to Ten Sports to find pakistan at 106/2 and although the score was more than reasonable but still i was surprised that we lost two quick wickets.

As it turned out younis khan had failed for the third time in the series to make a impression with the bat which is very unlike his high standards and as it turned out misbah too failed to impress which is also uncharacteristic of him. The manner in which both younis and misbah got out is unusual this is not LIKE THEM AT ALL !. Butt really should have gone on to complete a century since he had become so well set. Ahmed shezhad too played a poor shot to get out but this was his first major match against a top side. Nevertheless Pakistan batsmen YET AGAIN failed three matches in a row. No complaints from the bowlers they have done their job in restricting Australia in all three matches but just like in the past most of the times our batsmen let us down against the aussies yet again when we really should have won today's match with comfort. I am heartbroken this is unacceptable cricket, very very unprofessional. Like ex england skipper turned commentator boycott said pakistan batsmen have themselves to blame as not much credit goes to the aussies. This is probably the weakest australian side pakistan is playing in a bilateral series and a golden opportunity to win a series and set the record straight but i am sorry to say i don't think such a unprofessional team like pakistan can even beat second or even third strength professional australian team. Look at the way we won the first match ???!!. 160 something to get and we literally crawled to finish the match this is pathetic.

Pakistan will lose the series 4-1 unless a dramatic shift in made in attitudes of our batsmen and bowlers continue to restrict alongwith immaculate fielding. I suppose it's too much to ask !!!

The same old problem where our batsmen refuse to break the shackles and continue moving the scoreboard with healthy singles and twos instead of committing themselves into the usual miscalculated lofted risky strokes played in in air resulting in ticket to the pavillion. It was more a case of throwing the match due to complacency and largely due to a unprofessional approach by top order batsmen younis, misbah, akmal and malik.

Interestingly i have small calender infront of me ( It's my brother in law's computer desk) on today's date " 27th" the message is a verse from the Holy Quran (Surah Anfal :8:22) it reads " Without doubt in the sight of ALLAH the worst type of animal are those deaf and dumb people who don't utilise their brain, who don't think loudly/positively who don't consult who don't tolerate being criticized, these are those deaf and dumb people "[/I]

Sorrry guys if i sound harsh but just summing it up as how i see it. :( :( :(

Yaar i am here in lahore, pakistan uptill 2nd of may and fortunately will get to see the fourth one day international on Ten sports live from pakistan. As i get back to London on 3rd of may i won't be able to watch the 5th one day and the T20 match as no other channel has the rights apart from ten sports ( As far as i know unless someone corrects me !!!).

What a shame it sure would have felt great to leave pakistan back to Uk with pakistan team leading the series but here we are to our favourite position, BACKS TO THE WALL !

Yaar can anyone tell WHAT THE HELL IS WRONG WITH YOUNIS KHAN, MISBAH AND MALIK ???. All three normally score past 50 couple of times in atleast three straight matches but this is ridiculous. Younis, misbah and malik who are the most reliable batsmen have all failed. What;s going On ???????

What the hell are the openers suppose to do more than posting wonderful opening partnership of 95 runs for the first wicket ???. Why the hell in so many years have our cricketers not learnt to outfox australian team consistently with a professional manner ?? Why the hell are our batsmen always in a bloody hurry to score boundaries rather that work moving the scoreboard continuosly with singles, twos and an odd four ??.. Why always the unprofessional approach ???.. Honestly from 95/1 to 171 allout is school boy cricket, absolutely amateurish stuff. This is how you play cricket against a second or even a third strength australian team ??? This is what they have learnt from so many defeats against australia in the past ????

Play some pper or ppers answer me ..i am so much upset really i can't tell you guys. So much was i looking forward to see pakistan win today after a brilliant opening partnership. Unbelievable STUPIDITY !

Aussie's wanted it more badly than the Pakistanis.

Misbah and Afridi's attitdue showed that Pakistan was more interested in ending it quicker, rather than winning it

It's more the case of pakistan not wanting it rather than aussies wanting it more !.. Pakistan batsmen were more hell bent in loading unnecessary pressure upon themselves. Honestly the middle order experienced trio of younis, misbah and malik should have done better according to their high standards.

Problem with pakistan team against australia has been lack of consistent temperament and professional approach. Today's loss in hard to believe though from 95/0 to 171 all out, i bet the aussies will find it harder than us to believe that they won so comfortably in the end.
