So today is the 2nd day of the final test. Day 1 totally belonged to the Kiwis as they bowled out Pakistan for 223. Now once again just like so many other occassions in the past its upto our bowlers to drag us back into the game. There was no success with the new ball for our bowlers. So just hope that soon they will get the ball to reverse swing. And when it comes to reverse no body can do what the Pakistani pacers can do.

So lets get behind our team and please leave all the negativity out of this thread.

:aamir :gul :asif

Gooooooo Pakistan.

I hope our bowlers bowl better than yesterday, no one looked threatening. I hope we get som reverse-swing going :D

let's go!

Pitch seems to be at its best now. New zealand should be eyeing 500, however, Pakistan need just one early wicket to get right back in it.

The stage is set for:gul to take the honors today and 'reverse' the fortunes in Pakistan's favour..

So there is a serious possibility for reverse swing?

Any target to Kiwis over or around 250 and we will win the game.

yup I also think that even a target of 230 might be enough for black caps but
250 in 4th inns=Sayonara Kiwis!..

I really don't know what I want. At heart I want Pakistan to succeed, obviously, like all of you. But for that to happen drastic changes need to take place (duh). Every recent series that comes to mind was a case of Pakistan throwing it away rather than the opposition beating us. A backing collapse in the tests and final ODI when we were playing South Africa which cost the test and ODI series (during Lawson/Malik tenure). Collapses against Australia in the ODIs prior to the Twenty20 WC which cost that series. Collapses against Sri Lanka in the recent test series which ended up causing us to lost 2-0 as opposed to winning 2-0. The last ODI match against NZ which cost us that series. We dropped the first NZ test, literally. We almost dropped the last test, again literally. This is a sorry state of Pakistan cricket without much to be optimistic about. I think a face-slapping failure, some gruesome realism, is our only 'hope' right now.

I think this thread is only about Day 2 of the 3rd Test b/w Pak and NZ??

With Vettori in at 6 hopefully pakistan can get into the kiwis tail early and do some real damage. Come on Pakistan!

Come on Pakistan, make us happy, muhammad aamir will start the proceeding with a wicket and then it will be all asif, and aamir. Come on Pakistan, Inshallah we can win this!
Allah will help us inshallah!

Pakistan Zindabaad!

Anything can happen today NZ are worse as us. Just hope we come out with the right frame of mind.

I think you mean Pakisatn not NZ! :D
Nope meant NZ. Our bowling attack is one of the world's best atm so that should get through the NZ lineup, assuming catches are held. Fortunately for NZ I think there will be more dropped catches than held catches, and for my sake I hope that's the case too. I have a bet with my dad, for every dropped catch I get $10 and for every held one he gets $10. I'm expecting to buy the new Call of Duty 4 after today's play ;-) . So to make a philosophical point and a personal one, I (depressingly enough) hope NZ dominates the day.

Well in that case, reverse the bet, cause something tells me something good is comming! and that too in the favour of Pakistan Inshallah! Sooner or later you will get you call of duty 4, dont worry! :D

the openers will get a century; ros taylor will play a farhat; vettori and mccullum will build another 100 stand. we're doomed, i tell ya

And you won't be jumping up and down if Kiwis collapse, right?

Our best batsmen at 6 and 7, our worst opening, and you're still confident?

oh really pumped up reading all the upbeat comments, keep them rolling!. This is the reason i came to this forum after following cric info for about 14 years, since it was on gopher servers pre http days. I remember it was 95-96 series i believe against the Kiwis in NZ and there was one NZ chap who was providing updates to cricinfo gopher chat room and I along with another guy was translating it into a running commentry like (3 balls, 8 runs to go, waqar bowling), oh well those were the days, sitting in the computer lab of my university in Mobile, Alabama :). Just reminded me of those days when we were able to win games with the opposition requiring 50 runs in last 10 overs with 5 wickets in hand and the W's used to turn it around. On a side note, the same kiwi dude who was watching the game at home and updating the score for us had to run to a net cafe on his bike as his dial-up service at home went down, so we were blank for about 15 mins and then he popped up again. Any how, Pakistan Zindabad and we will turn this game around today

Haha, I know. This series is the most untalented team against the most undisciplined team. Who will play worse to lose the series in Napier? It's looking like Pakistan after Day 1, but only time will tell.

Agree, you won day 1 and now inshallah we will own day 2! Watch out!

Considering the pitch is quite flat I hope the bowlers don't experiment too much with their lines and lengths. They just need to keep it just outside off on a length and hope the kiwis to make some mistakes.

me too but I hope Ross Taylor goes out too then :)

Pak need to get to take NZ out early to stand a chance knowing our fragile batting line up
