This for me was the biggest factor behind our failure to beat India 3 times in a row. After Pakistan's first defeat against India, Mohd Amir in a tv interview mentioned his ILT20 experience where you have to go hard aggressively against the bowling in the first ten overs because batting against spinners in the last 10 overs becomes very difficult as the ball stops coming on to the bat.

Forget about Kuldeep Yadav, Varun, Axar who are world class T-20 bowlers, Pakistan struggled badly against Oman, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, Afghanistan. Our batsmen including someone like Fakhar who has been playing for Pakistan for almost 10 years and in Pakistan's domestic cricket for a good 12-15 years did not have the technique to play with a straight bat, to maneuver the ball consistently on the leg and off side for single, he was looking to hack his way out of trouble and he only had the legside slog sweep.

Salman Ali Agha is apparently among the top players of spin bowling in Pakistan and he was exposed like a school boy by Kuldeep, Axar, Varun and Hasaranga.

In contrast look at Indian batsmen like Tilak Varma, Dube, Rinku Singh, these guys have the batting technique, skill to defend with good technique against the moving, spinning ball, to rotate the strike on all sides of the field and go beserk once set.

The first step the PCB needs to take is to stop glorifying and promoting tape ball sloggers with zero technique as it is pretty clear they cannot last more than a few balls against quality bowling attacks. PCB actually needs to back technically correct players like Abdullah Shafique, Umair Bin Yousaf e.t.c. where atleast they have a solid foundation to work with and then work towards their power hitting.

Pakistan lost all three games against India because of being cluless against Indian spin bowlers in the middle overs.

Also in the bowling department, Pakistan has to learn from India and realize that bits and pieces spinners like Nawaz, Saim will work against weak associate teams but against teams like India, Australia, New Zealand, South Africa, England e.t.c you need proper specialist bowlers. I was dissapointed that Pakistan did not give Suffyan Muqeem a chance against other teams and allow him to build his confidence.

They key to play spin on this wicket is to play with the straight bat in the V and play as late as possible but pak batters doesn’t have the technique nor the fast hands to play the ball late , it was amazing to see Tilak and Samson playing the ball very late and with the straight bat.

Pakistani betters have zero feet movement and very poor technique. Hard to survive with this technique in international cricket. T20Is you have may still slog a few but in ODI and Test Cricket it will not work out.

You have to get to pitch of the ball for playing spin - this is what made YK so effective as well.
