Our bowlers were clueless in the following series

England in UAE 2015
England in England 2016
Australia in Australia 2017
New Zealand in New Zealand 2018
Asia Cup vs India 2018
South Africa in South Africa 2019
Australia in the UAE 2019
Australia in Australia 2019
England in England 2020
New Zealand in New Zealand 2021

These same bowlers look solid whenever they play against Zimbabwe, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, West Indies e.t.c

There is clearly a problem vs the top 3-4 teams in the World. When Misbah had the services of a pre 15 degree Ajmal, Hafeez, a prime Gul, an inform Afridi, Junaid Khan, Mohd Irfan you knew the bowling attack not only had attackers but also had reliable run chockers who even if will not pick wickets will not go for plenty.

In the present Pakistani team there is not a single bowler i see who can be relied upon to blaze through teams or keep the run rate down. Even our best bowler Shaheen Afridi goes missing vs the top teams.

I am not sure whether Waqar is really the answer, he has had 5 stints as bowling coach now and lets also be clear, the guy played cricket in a very different era. This is now the T-20 power hitting era and the blindly bowl yorkers at the death method of Wasim, Waqar doesn't really work flawlessly anymore.

Now bowlers have to have the ability to bowl 6 different deliveries, bowl defensively, intelligently with respect to their fields and use containment as a method of building pressure on the batting side.

Pakistani bowlers are still bowling the Imran Khan type blindly attack with full force at 90 mph and hope for a wicket. Cricket does not work like that anymore. I am seriously hoping that the PCB next time experiments with a Western Bowling coach i.e. someone who has coached in T-20 franchises extensively who can teach the Pakistani bowlers the art of atleast bowling to a plan, a field and looking to bowl dots when the pitch does not suit racing in and bowling at 90 mph plus.

Shaheen and Rauf were bowling at 88-90 mph but absolutely zero plan on what they were doing or suppossed to do.

Pace is pace, yaar.

I think the keeper should stand at the boundaries because Phast Bowling.

This is what happens when you back players based on pace alone and not skill.

Don't think skill is the issue. Issue is a complete lack of identification and understanding of what has to be done on the field given the pitch. If the pitch is an absolute belter, what is a better plan i.e. just blindly race in bowling at pace hoping god will give you wickets or bowling to a proper plan where you have fielders in place, the bowler bowls to his field and the area where the batsman is weak in. These are the things which are missing in our team culture and think tank and sadly Waqar is just not the answer, he never played his cricket like this.

We haven’t been able to bowl properly since 2018. It’s very much the norm for all Pakistani bowlers to go for 1-2 boundaries every over. We have lacked penetration in Tests also.

We need to move away from Waqar ASAP, he is a complete nuisance! How could I guy be so confident and declare that he will turn Naseem, Musa, Hasnain and Shaheen into world beaters (basically asking for a 5 year gaurenteed job)? Even Bharat Arun or whoever that Indian bowling coach is wouldn’t go around making such bold statements and that guy really has the credentials to make a claim as such!

Hasan Ali is finished as a spearhead bowler. He is simply useful as a 4th seamer instead of Faheem Ashraf as the guy can probably add some valuable runs as a batsman. Shaheen has a mental age of a 15 year old, PCB is grooming this loose canon to become a captain lol.

Like, we genuinely can’t find a single guy in Pakistan who has the ability to swing the white ball?!?

Bharat Arun in comparison has improved every single Indian Bowler given to him.

Problem with our think-tank is that whenever they probably get a to a point where they think a certain bowler is finished and should be replaced, up comes a series against Zimbabwe or something and that same bowler is back in the wickets - back to square one.

I think Pak fast bowling is fine. Posters here have insane standards for your bowlers. These days 300 is a par score in ODIs and bowlers from every team are being taken apart by the T20-bred batters. In fact, I think Pak is among top 3 bowling line ups. You just need to find a very good spinner (Shadab is not very convincing) and one new ball swing bowler to pair with Shaheen. (Hassan Ali is good, but he will probably do better as the first change bowler).

Pakistan whole team is either hit or miss at this minute in time and that is reflected in results. They can take down England strongest XI as was seen during the WC or can fold against zimbabwe.

Its just a reflection of inconsistent players Pakistan have got at the minute.

Shaheen, hasan ali, faheem and haris rauf are not gonna set the world on fire if you wanna beat top teams you need to have four solid bowlers out of those 4 their is only one currently
