Makes sense for Balochistan since its mostly desert so hard to maintain grass outfield.

Looks pretty good.Good on the armh for developing this project.Though I suppose it’s easier to get hurt.

Will do the job for the moment so credit to Pak Army for taking the initiative.

Why and how is the army able to build a cricket stadium? Shouldn't this be the duty of the PCB?

Good Stuff but you cannot even remotely think of sliding on this. Skin will peel off in an instant!

Fielding will be a nightmare on this ground tbh, can be good for small city based tournaments only using tape ball or such and in addition to this every fielder needs to be told to NOT DIVE!

I am also wondering how much cooling down is needed to stop the plastic from melting.

A lot of water because (a) It's in Baluchistan where the weather is already dry and hot and (b) That's a lot of Astroturf to water regularly!

Life at the border near Chaman, Balochistan must be pretty uneventful.

Yes, which makes me wonder if this was a wise choice and money well spent.

At the end it just appears to be short-term feel good project.

I have experienced these stuff to go pretty hot pretty soon and that's in a much more cooler climate than Pakistan.

I purpose a proper indoor cricket hall, unorthodox but far more practical and wise.

They should turn it into football pitch. Chaman's footballers are best in Pakistan.

Hate to be a downer but honestly what a waste of money, whose going to even play here?

Easier to get hurt, that was in 80s, not on new turf , I was told by an person who deals with installation of the turf.

Balochistan gets first-ever Astro Turf cricket stadium

CHAMAN:- In a bid to expand cricket to all the corners of the country, Pakistan has introduced its first ever AstroTurf cricket stadium here Friday. The stadium was inaugurated by Commander Southern Command Lt Gen Asim Saleem Bajwa. The commander opened the stadium by playing a shot before officially handing it over to Cricket Association. Later on, a friendly match was played between the local sides, as Chaman XI took on Qilla Abdullah XI. “Peace is visible everywhere. Wherever we go, people ask for good educational institutes and roads,” said Lt Gen Bajwa while addressing the inauguration ceremony.
