I know we've struggled in the past tours to Australia but we seem to have plunged new depths here.

Pakistan's bowlers finish the series averaging 61.63.

They have only fared worse in two series:

Sri Lanka in Pakistan 08/09 (only 2 Tests) where they averaged 63.36
Pakistan in England 1962 (5 Tests) where they averaged 65.63

Pakistan's economy rate is this series was 4.25. Which is the worst for us in a series.

Absolute carnage...

Yet another declaration from the Aussies

Out of a potential 60 wickets across three tests how many did we actually take?

Pakistan is still predictably unpredictable , similar bowling unit won 2 tests in England.

This series definitely is the lowest I have seen the Pakistani bowlers. They have had no clue what to do. Azhar Mahmood is clueless as a bowling coach and if he after the first test match could not even get the bowlers to pitch the ball better it is just poor coaching and mentoring. Ofcourse he is not totally to blame as well these guys should have learnt what length to bowl after the first test. Right now the pace bowling is a huge worry. Guys like Rahat, Sohail Khan and Imran Khan put in a performance once in a while but are in general poor and not up to mark. Aamir does not know how to take wickets any more. This is really a major worry and needs a massive reshuffle. I am unsure Inzi is the right person to be a selector now as well. He says the right things but he has not really been able to highlight any better players and is still working on what he got from his predecessors.

wow, thats a big decline really. We averages 43 per wicket in our last tour to australia.

Australia took our twenty wickets in two tests in UAE in 2014 , only 50%
Pakistan took 33 , thats 56 percent of their wickets.

Australia averaged 76.7 with the ball in 2014 and pakistan averaged 61.2 with the ball this series.
Australia averaged 24 with the bat in 2014 and pakistan has averaged 31 with the bat so far.

Just reducing the effect of humiliation a bit

I said it in the matched thread on day 2. Never have I seen Pakistani bowlers bowl so helplessly.

West Indies	2015-2016	3	0	2	0	1	0.000	12	124.08	4.66	4	583	-

Pretty dismal reading for all of them except South Africa.

Pakistan is still playing overseas with the 90's or 80's mentality (bowling blows oppsition away while batting scores just enough to let bowlers have a sniff) . But they absolutely don't have the personnel to succeed with that . At least in the UAE you tailored your playing style to your strength - Blocking out pacers and smashing spinners & spin focused bowling attack.

Similarly the playing style needs to change to suit the present group of players..

In any case you have to take 20 wickets in a match to win the match and you should have good enough bowlers to get those wickets. Without those 20 wickets you cant win a test match.

With India one can say it was the 1st tour for lot of guy's, also since that tour one can see a consistent improvement in lot of guy's and mind you even that team had a bit better batting unit than this team.

It's getting ridiculous now. This is Pakistan, not India. Get Asif and Junaid into the squad and drop Sohail and Imran.

I read that this was the worst bowling performance, in terms of the average runs per wicket conceded, by a Pakistan side ever in a three Test series.

Batting collapsed badly in 2 out of the 6 innings, but don't expect to win Test matches without taking 20 wickets.

We are far, far worse than India in every department.

Indian bowling was bad but they still managed to take 60 wickets in 4 matches vs Pakistan's 33 in 3 matches. They also managed to draw 2 matches!

This is the bowling lineup that Misbah the saviour assembled after 6 years as captain. If you praise Misbah for his 'achievements' you should also have the objectivity to deride home for his falacies.

Junaid's not doing jack at the domestic level, how could you expect him to take wickets against international level batsman?

But its not equal weight. he won more than he lost. so all in all a good bowling line up considering he also had to reinvent after ajmal was chucked out.

Who else then?

Suggest names.. and not unknown players who are yet to make domestic debut.

Can you please explain why utterly mediocre folks like Rahat, Imran and Sohail are in and around the side for so long. Why haven't any new bowlers been tried out? When was the last time a pacer debuted under Misbah the saviour?

Because they have done the job required of them to get pakistan to no 1. By comparison they are marginally worse than other teams who have visited Australia recently. The rest is just about hating

What more has he won ???how many titles and trophies?? Even in home ground his record is strictly average.

Bowlers need to be held accountable, some of them need a strong wake up call, you cant let players play indefinitely without earning their spots.

By saying "who else then?" I presumed you would want Juanid to be inducted into the squad.

And you made the assumption by looking at my avatar?

Going by that logic you are rooting for Sarfaraz Nawaz to be inducted in the squad

On what basis have you come to the conclusion that I thought you wanted Junaid to be selected based on your avatar?

The bowlers on this tour were invested in for the last 4 years, who is going to be held accountable for their performances?

Do the selectors even have a benchmark? At one point should they give up on a bowler where they are convinced there is no further hope for improvement?

I always rated the Pakistani attack above India's but it seems I overrated them. We weren't this horrendous last time we toured AUS.

Amir: Overexpectations took a toll on him. Doesn't look the same bowler of 2009. Also, always we hype players who are either out of the team or banned. I just don't see him in the same league of Hazelwood/ Rabada let alone Steyn/ Starc.

Yasir: Lost his mojo since England 2016. Was expensive vs WI where Bishoo outbowled him. Was arguably the worst spinner in a long time in 3 match test series. If I am not wrong, he averages above 85 in this series.

Wahab: He is a spraygun but still was the best bowler for Pakistan in this tour. He is already 30 plus so doont think many years are ahead of him. Pakistan should look for other talents in the domestic.

Imran: Nothing special to be honest. Loses his line and length easily. I still can't believe he is the best youngster in Pakistan today.

Rahat Ali- Same as Imran. Only a little worse. Without assistance in the track, he is just a popgun bowler.
