Why are they not playing any cricket for a whole month? England, Aus, I think IND and SA too are playing lots of ODI cricket in the build up but by the time the CT arrives, Pak will not have played any limited overs cricket for 2 months. Who organised this rubbish? They should have put together 3 match or tri series against the likes of Zimb or SL.

Players will lose form, we won't really have any idea who should be picked, or nay idea of the fitness and form of the older guys who are headed for their last tournament.

I had no idea this was happening, an absolute shambles. Pak are going in completely underprepared.

Eng and SA are playing ODI cricket throughout May, and the others are playing in the IPL. Yet Pak are going to play tests and then go cold.

Tut tut tut.

Don't think so man...We have played too much of cricket in the past few months. need a few days weeks and then a long camp in England...3 weeks

They will be Done playing test mid may ? So only two weeks of break. And u find this long?

We finish in WI mid-May.

Hardly a 3 week break before the CT which is an essential break before an ICC event.

Good time to get the squad together and get them to go through drills etc. Maybe even send them to England early. :ma

We can give them a 2 week break and then they should go to England and we should get some practice matches in. The best we can hope for imo.

Who are the warm up games against in the CT? I assume they will be teams in the other group.

We should give them a break as they were playing continuously from some time, also there will be most probably warmup matches before CT to get the team in shape, although you are right and PCB should have planned better and maybe should have not played T20s and Tests just before CT as ODI practice is much needed for a big competition.

Ideally, team should reach UK couple of weeks earlier, may be with provisional squad of 18/19 & play few List A matches with County sides, even 2nd XI of Counties will do great help than those dummy sessions in Abotabad hills, like last CT in 2013.

Or PCB can arrange a challenger trophy between PAK Red & Green - more or less, 8/9 players select themselves - Sarfraz, Babar, Malik, Imad, Amir, Hasan, Shadab, MoHa - allow to rest those; pick 22 players from other probables & play 3/4 List A matches in a week before finalizing 15. I actually don't trust those "special" sessions arranged by jokers at PCB, rather happy to see players playing effective matches when selection is at stake.

BCCI does this & BCB as well, before a major tournament, schedule permitting.

Not announced yet but you are right that they will be against teams of the other group, so we can expect them to be against any of Australia,New Zealand,England and Bangladesh.
