The announcement came from PCB Chairman Shahryar Khan on Wednesday, he stated that a cricket academy will be opened in Karachi on the name of the legendry batsman late Hanif Muhammad.
Shahryar was addressing the Senate Standing Committee on Inter Provincial Coordination (IPC), reported local media.
“Academies will also be opened in Abbottabad, Balochistan and Peshawar,” he said adding a mini cricket academy will also be opened in Hyderabad.
The city of Karachi once home to a number of renowned sportsmen in the country ranging from cricket, hockey, squash and boxing, now witnesses a dearth of parks and other sports facilities.
Shahryar further informed that the chief minister of Balochistan has assured to give place to establish a cricket ground in Gwadar.
