Good move? Lets see what the uptake is this for such a position - not sure how many are qualified.

Somebody who has played International cricket or at least 75 FC matches is a pretty arbitrary requirement.

Excellent initiative- now former PAK players won’t have any excuse for “not being given opportunities to serve their country”. Roughly, I think $10-12k/year as total cost to company is very good package for these roles - that comes around PKR 1.8-1.9mn/year or 170000/month. 60% as base wage comes at around 100k; after tax still it should be around 75k take home + benefits. Obviously, it’ll be a bit stupidity even for MoYo or Basit’s standard if they think that PCB should match their paydays like their playing career from this job.

The other two Sr. Manager jobs are extremely lucrative for someone like me. Despite being an engineer, MBA major in marketing & finance (& a CFA part II fail😝), I have worked mostly in Marketing strategy, planning, product/brand management, business process development and those two are like dream jobs for a Brand Strategist & Business Developer - in a cricket mad country with so many brands to be associated with PAK cricket, it’s like a green field for a dreamer.

Long back, under Management trainee program, I traveled PAK (Islamabad, stayed in that cursed Marriott ....) and one Unilever guy had a 3 hours session for us on brand building & business development for consumer products - didn’t notice when three hours went fly by. I took his contact (he also was interested to share for there had to be a reason) and that guy was a keen cricket enthusiast, played at club level as well, a LUMS grad and did his engineering from a top PAK technical school - therefore I am sure there are top, top class professionals available in PAK, but it won’t be cheap for sure. Instead of “budget” hiring, I would like to see PCB hiring couple from MNC at premium and allow him full autonomy. It might cost 2 X $120k+/ year but worthy investment. With the right guy in action, PCB can double, even triple its earnings from domestic sources. I am sure, thereafter that customary quarterly nagging for BCCI’s conspiracy won’t be required.

Yes - excellent and hopefully the seniors who cannot get games due to the change in structure will now have some work to do. Its a changing world and people need to think carefully how to make themselves relevant.
