PCB or its political affiliates failed to understand one key thing; which BCCI learnt in year 2000

1) If you select right players
2) They will win matches consistently
3) If they win matches consistently
4) Then your team becomes watchable and demanded
5) And PCB much higher broadcasting rights, and huge $$$ pour in to PCB and players get richer

On the other side, what we marketed, the more inconsistent we are , more watchable PCT is; which is absolutely wrong assumptions

nope.

The only issue in this world cup squad is Iftikhar not being there. Rest of the squad is a perfect representation of the best we have got.

I remember back in 2010 I used to whine that if we select so and so player we would be the best and all. I later realized that even if we select the players we want the team would not be the best it will still lack in somewhere.

Select the “right players”?
It’s as if we have Viv Richards and Tendulkars and McGraths and Malcolm Marshalls playing in domestic and are unable to get a chance?

We hardly have any “right players”. What you saw in the Pakistan cup is the best that our third class domestic cricket has produced.

We need to get our heads out of India n BCCI’s rear end.
There is no comparison!

They have a HUGE cricket crazy population, it’s probably close to a billion fans. This is an astronomical market size that generates an equally huge amount of revenue.

Second, they have an extremely strong and very well school level cricket in place for decades, and hence their system continuously produce world class quality cricketers, you know, the “right ones”.

Cricket in Pakistan is sort of dying sports that is on a gradual decline. Unlike squash n hockey that took a straight nose dive.

Today the youth is addicted to smart phones n social media. Hardly anyone cares to put any extra effort n focus on playing sports.

If we want to copy BCCI then we must start and stick with a well organized school level cricket. We don’t need (and neither can we) pick the “right players”. We need to PRODUCE “the right players” who are world class quality.

I think what OP is saying is pcb should groom & invest in players they believe from a very early age, give them confidence & intl exposure - like bcci did with virat, raina, jadeja, pandya etc. - not only because of their talent but also star power

No the OP is trying to ride some sort of high horse, read the title again, thread is supposed to be about PCB's wrong logic becuase in the OP's mind, the BCCI is full of logical and impartial people right?

Pakistan never selects their best 15 for anything and they haven't ever tried to since Pakistan cricket came into existence, there are at least 2-3 dubious characters in 15 who don't deserve to be so whenever that happens Pakistan will become unbeatable.
