It's been raining today, and more rain expected later. Not sure what the situation is right now but hope we can get a game.

It rained heavily today so don't think we'd have any game tonight knowing drainage facilities in our grounds
 
It is baffling to see ground not fully covered. They are open like as if drainage system is world class :))

It hasn't rained for some hours still the match is delayed.

It is not that it is happening for the first time. Karachi ODI and pindi test yet these things keep on repeating

Confirmed because of 3rd class drainage system. We could learn a lot from Sri Lanka

Hopefully after this home season PCB will look at this and other things as well which are required.

Couldn't they have learned their leason after Sri Lanka series

It takes time to to construct and build a drainage system and upgrading other facilities. There was domestic season then Srl series, than BD series and now PSL and then end of BD series. Didnt have enough window in my opinion to carry out such changes.

Lets see what they do after BD series as there is a big window for these things.
 
Rain is the only way LQ could have avoided humiliation :))
 
yes just seen pics on cricketgateway no rain at the moment umpires worried about some soggy patches..next inspection at 9pm Pak time which means definately losing overs

Is there any chance of play today? Really hard luck for PZ .... if it's a wash-out :)
 
Yes overall drainage system up gradation might require time but I am not sure how hard it is to have sheets to cover the ground.
 
Lahore Qalandars have a good squad but they haven’t found a right combination yet.

Also they have 2 excellent fast bowlers must utilitise them correctly.

Shaheen
Rauf
Dilbar.
Hafeez and Samit patel.

Hafeez and Samit should bowl 3 overs in power play to buy wickets. Shaheen and Rauf should bowl last 4 overs. Dilbar 2 spinners should bowl remaining overs, wise should bowl on 2 overs and middle overs only.
 
inspection taking place right now ...but martinez doesnt look happy with the damp patches i am pretty sure there will be more time wasted here...
 
According to a survey. Tv Ratings of PSL 5 have smashed records numbers of viewership this year PSL.

Also last 4 PSL totals crowd of attendance was 135K for the 4 years. This year PSL 5 in 7 days the attendance have touched over 145K. Amazing PCB has done a great Job and also thanks to Najam Sethi for introducing PSL.

Also I am not a fan of opening ceremonies. I think its waste of Money especially for PCB who is struggling to make money atm. So for next just do simple ceremony with some fire works and thats it begins the game. Lets spend that money on Improving facilities and cricket infrastructure.

Batting is the main problem. They have the lowest average score historically in the PSL, and in this one the middle overs are letting them down.

Lahore actually has the highest powerplay run rate of all the teams in the powerplay in this PSL so far, but then from overs 7-15 their run rate is under 6, the worst of any team. That's where the problem lies.
 
First time im watching all the matches of PSL. This is the best PSL so far. Thanks D sports for telecast in India. Trust me guys this PSL is only second to IPl in terms of entertainment

Lots of amateurs sitting on this forum had already pointed out when the squad was announced, that there was no middle order batting in LQ squad.

Something that professional coaches/managers at LQ failed to see.

Don’t understand Fakhar Zaman. I think we find talents but with no brain on how to develop your game. He hardly lasted 5 overs so far. He is a senior player and experience, he must show responsibility when gets in. Hafeez is a great example of how you should bat if you have experience. A shehzad, Umar A are prime examples of not fulfilling their talent.

These are impressive numbers. Maybe we should get a separate thread to discuss how PSL moving to Pak has changed the dynamics of the tournament.

You mean average bowler and average coach Aqib failed to see.
 
maybe a 10 overs match i think ...as those damp areas the groundsman was very using showels and all sorts not looking good
 
Looks like the ground staff is not paid well.They should be paid well.Some extra for the psl at least.

Lahore will be bowling with no Haris Rauf or Shinwari, Zalmi might get off to a flyer here in Rawalpindi
 
The two most annoying and obnoxious franchises will battle it out. I might actually root for Lahore in this one...
 
Looks like Lahore have lost faith in their two golden boys (Rauf and Faizan) already.

Excited to see Haider Ali and Shaheen though.
 
Good opportunity for LQ to restrict PZ and then chase it but they rarely do two things right
 
The Urdu commentary in this match looks better possibly due to Urooj Mumtaz
