In what is probably the most ridiculous news you will hear today, a PIA flight has taken its passengers for a wild ride, literally.

PIA flight PK307, which was bound to go from Lahore to Karachi, actually ended up in Muscat, Oman. The aircraft in question was a Boeing 777-340(ER) jet.

The passengers on the plane were in a state of shock and disbelief as their plane was made to go to a far flung country. Their plea for clarification and information from PIA officials also went unanswered to date.

Flight PK307 was scheduled to depart from Lahore at around 9PM last night but it took off early morning today. But instead of landing in Karachi, PIA took all passengers to Muscat.

FlightRadar24 data shows that airliner descended to 10,000 feet, encircled a few times and then continued its flight to ultimately land in Muscat.

Now the passengers are in a foreign land and that too without roaming, meaning that they can’t inform their family about the adventure.

In light of these events the Bakray ki Qurbani doesn't really seem a bad idea now !!

When you think PIA is rock bottom, they pull out the rabbit out of their hats and manage to hit yet another low smh !!

Well Done guys !! :14:

Hard to believe this, are you sure this is not satire? How did Muscat even let them land there?

I am not too sure if this is Satire but the link provided usually is considered a goodish enough source of such Media. Although this is not 100% as of yet !!

Presumably the Pakistani media is out to get PIA after the recent incident.

I can tell you with enough experience in the industry that this could not have occurred.

It has, and a certain Pakistani musician was part of the flight and he's expressing his anger over Twitter atm.

That's funny, I would say the flightrader site info pretty much confirms it did happen, i've seen BA flights that are scheduled to land at Heathrow get temporarily diverted to Manchester or Glasgow or due to technical issues at the airport, so it does happen.

Must be Wx related for sure. IRROPS must have come into play, just that the passengers weren't briefed before they whipped out their smartphones and started to tweet. Pretty sure they'll get to KHI in time.

Queer? Sure. Impossible? No.

Some days ago A Biman (successor of PIA in Bangladesh) landed in Kolkata but it was supposed to land in Sylhet. The plane is supposed to go in east from Dhaka but only the pilot and all the air traffic controllers know why it flown west from dhaka.

Finally some clarity. The diversions were due to fog. QR 610 was another one who vectored to MCT.

Also, the husband of the previous deceased Prime Minister of Pakistan Benazir Bhutto (Asif Ali Zardari, Bilawal's father) is returning back to the country after 18 months. I am sure the airport is thronged with his supporters and is probably causing unimaginable chaos.

Once, when coming back from the Middle East, I had planned to fly to Heathrow and then take a connecting flight (with a different airline) to Manchester.

Due to fog and bad weather, the flight was diverted to Manchester. But instead of being allowed to leave the airport (since Manchester was my final destination), we were put on coaches and a 3 hour journey back to London Heathrow via road.

By the time we arrived at Heathrow and went through immigration & customs, the fog had started to clear and the flights were running again. And I had to take my 'connecting' flight back to Manchester, where I had been 5 hours earlier!!
