Pretty unnecessary excercise this. The apology tweet was enough in the first place

It shows he's realised how seriously the rest of the world takes issues of racism, intended or not. Personally I think it's good he's gone the extra mile, the whole thing was an embarrassment in this day and age.

End of the matter now. At least he didn't call him "monkey" like Harbhajan did Symonds. Sarfaraz was man enough to apologise.

I would say the opposite. The apology tweet was unnecessary and this gesture far better.

Totally agree.

Something like this needs a personal touch not a tweet to the world

now that's the leader every side needs.. ready to take full ownership of his and his team action..

Respect for both sides, Even the SA board and Andile did not create a fuss about the situation.

Saffers have shown themselves to be more gracious than this idiot. He represents PK on a world stage and he shouldnt even be thinking along race lines, never mind say them.

Now the picture is there anything else people need.. a video or anything??? some posters were lookign for video too I guess..

Personal apology is much better than tweets in such situations. People should move on...

Unnecessary and childish act, hope he learns his lesson that he is playing professional sports and not leading his mohalla team. He also needs to apologize to some of his team mates who take verbal abuse from him on a daily basis.

Sarfraz has been a weak captain who has surrendered infront of Arthur and Inzamam, but he will go down as the most amazing ambassadors for Pakistan cricket in history. Extremely down-to-earth and humble guy. Few instances back a security guard was waiting with a bouquet when he came out of the airport. That guard gave him bouquet and gave him hug and went away. Sarfraz was not having a good timeoin recent past, he did'nt want to interact with media people and tried to avoid but regardless of public whoever came towards him he obliged, hugged, took a selfie. As far is his cricket portion is concerned its extremely wanting hope the discussion is brought back towards that.

The rants on this issue have left a bad taste.

I have just made peace with the fact that some 'Pakistani' people will hate Sarfraz no matter what he does. They were disloyal towards Pakistan when they made it a racist issue when the player player was never tounted in English or degraded, insulted in anyway. He never felt anything on the pitch and match presentation before these people went overboard. They even ignited the fuel for the likes of Junaids and when they said "this will show Pakistanis are racists". I dislike many things about our people and our scociety in general for example ethnic and religious extremism but RACIST we are not (a vast majority of us). We dont hate or downplay others on the base on their race.

Sarfraz haters have shown their true colors in this episode and showed us how low they can stoop.

If he would've meant to be racist he would've said it in English on his face.

I criticise players on their cricket and really its not our concern beyond that. I criticise Imam but I don't consider Imam's fault that he has been catapulted inthe national side. He is young and he thinks he can improve and achieve it. Its the elders like selector which is why I don't blame him. And still we don't go below the belt.

Anyways I hope some positive thing comes out, we all seriously were disappointed with the personal comments open accusation against a national team captain who is representing Pakistan also.

Well done! Good on Sarfraz and the Saffers. Hopefully we can bury this unnecessary controversy and get on with the cricket.

I hope it wasn't just "I'm sorry. I didn't mean it" but more about how the taunt did not have a racial undertone. Andile doesn't have any idea about Pakistani culture or how these words are used as mere taunts (crude, but nothing more) and would see the whole incident in a different light if made aware.

Does this set a precedence? Next time someone uses a racist slur, he will apologise and ICC wont take action?

It's good.

But, 3-5 match ban is a must.

Racist remarks like this, even casually, by a national team's captain are not ON.

Needs to be taught a lesson.

Yes, PCB doesn't have the moral standards of a side like AUS.

A 3-5 match ban is a must. Sets wrong precedent.

Fair play to Sarfaraz.

This is all it needed - it didn't need the ridiculous tweets that were done from his account.

Look at the Pak team manager in the photo :)

Good on him! Should have done that in the first place instead of dragging it for a few days.

This should have been done instead of the 'unfortunately the stump mic caught my words' disaster.

As a little mark of respect for the opposition, Sarafaraz should not have played today's game.

Should have been punished, to teach him and others some lesson. In Pakistan ( and I'm sure in India too ) people pass racist comments routinely, like its not a big deal.

Both players have accepted this as a silly mistake and it was not racist in nature. I know many are disappointed but it's time to accept it and move on kids. :)

Haha. Yes calling someone black is racist.

calling someone black is different. But making his color as an identification or refrencing him by his skin color is wrong.

A guy cant go around saying, "the blacki(e) is batting well", its wrong.

see even the word is banned here because its wrong.

Wicket of Babar Azam falls and all credit to Andile Phehlukwayo. Although he is bowling too slow today.

Sarfraz was always a major motormouth - more against his own team than outside.

Eventually the mouth got tired leading to the almighty yawn we saw in the 2019 WC.

Pakistan taking revenge on Andile after years. LOL. Sarfaraz would be happy.
