I am curious.

Do people feel comfortable wearing such a dress or piece of clothing?

Especially in Pakistan when your countryfolk are struggling to put one square meal on their table?

Of course those who can afford it will do it but just feels odd.

Thoughts?

I swear you can take this picture to any Bridal darzi in Lahore and they would make it for you for about £800?

$45k for a bridal dress,

I would expect it to have a button that would allow me to hover 50ft above ground.

So what makes this dress worth $45k? Is it made from rugs/carpets stolen from the palace of a Mughal emperor?

If I’m paying $45k, I would like to know what exactly makes it worth this kind of money

You are wearing a $45k dress. The price defines the gravity and Not WHAT defines the price. You are looking at it in a wrong way.

Just the idea of it. Designer clothes work on the same concept as brand. The name is the selling point, not the product.

Nice dress but if I saw that without knowing its market value, there's no way I would value it at £45,000.

who knows...

But there is a brand called Pasha that is hell of expensive and its Shalwar Kameez cloth for one suit can sell upto Rs. 1 lakh. Rich business owners of Punjab where that.

There is massive variety in cloth, the price goes up due to the stitching and the print of the cloth. Having precise stitching cost alot, having a cloth with no minor defect is expensive.

That is just nonsense. If the cloth is double quality and the print of the cloth is triple quality, and the stitching is done quadruple intricate, how much more can the cost be justified? Instead of $800 let's say it might cost $3000 to produce. In reality the real cost might be half that.

You are paying for the idea. Not saying there isn't value in the idea, but it can't possibly cost that much to produce the garment.

I am not justifying this dress, i am just explaining about a brand that sells expensive clothing and someone who is involved in textile can tell the difference not layman like us.

Anyways who cares man, if someone can afford and buy it let them. There are people with iphone 13 that only use whatsapp .

Yep it's just about making nice stuff, marketing as exclusive, and that gives rich people somewhere to spend their money.

i heard you were in the advertising industry (correct me if i am wrong)

That’s what I’m saying

It has to look $45k if that’s what it’s price is. Who would buy a Nissan Micra for the same price as a Nissan GTR just because the manufacturer says that they are proving the Micra at the same price?

That's why financial education is very important in schools.

How you see money at your stage of life is different from another person at their stage of life.

There was a time I was very frugal and saved tonnes, once I started making a lot my perception of money changed and I started to splurge, that's why you see people making $200k and still saying they are struggling in bigger cities.

People only comeback to their senses after a hard life lesson, then they realize peace of mind is most important thing in life.

Good analogy. This dress just doesn’t fill me with any excitement for itlll

On another note, Indians/Pakistanis should get out of the socialist attitude where anybody with money is judged and suspected.

If you can afford a 45k usd dress in Pakistan you should definitley be judged or suspected.

Why? Are there no rich people/millionaires in Pakistan?
There are.

But if they are rich enough to be able to afford 45k USD wedding dresses then they for sure have some skeletons in their closets.
There is not a booming tech industry or some other industry that can whitewash the money as it can for some of Indias elites.

Isn't it quite the opposite, at least nowadays?
The moneyed ones are getting all the respect, while the poorer get disrespected and judged harshly.
