That’s interesting. That is double standards.

These guys are sportsmen, the sportsmanship behaviour like shaking hands is ingrained in them from childhood, it’s a part of them. I’d feel guilty if I didn’t do handshakes I know that the Pakistani cricketers aren’t at fault for the Palgaham attacks. And when you are playing on the pitch you only see an opposing sports team you’re not thinking about politics when your hitting or bowling the ball.

I’m very sure someone higher up, probably government has told them to not do the handshakes. Just following orders. I don’t blame the cricketers.

This thing was such a mess. Pakistan did not handle it well. We should have accepted the fact that its not the match ref at fault, its not the indian team at fault, its not their captain at fault, all those guys are usually cordial and extend professional courtesy.

The problem is with the directive from the top. Our folks should have expressed regret at what happened but also made it clear we dont hold any ill will towards their players, team and the match ref. We should have put the blame squarely on the people who we all know are responsible for this.

All this could have been done in a few sentences and we could have all moved on from this. India govt is fascist, they are hypocrites and this is a very good example of it. They are dictating which of their national teams should conduct themselves like pro sportsmen and when.

In cricket should’ve gone for handshake and then dodged the hand that is what war mongering kumars deserve, plenty of decent and cool Indian people but have no pity for war mongers.

I have problem with Faheem , Abrar specially racists 🤡 Faheem.

A team who having These players doesn't deserve to respect or Shake the hands .

:kp
The entire Hindutva cult is racist and you have been attempting to lead them on this very forum.

It should be up to the players. Not government.

If Indian players want to shake hands, it should be their choice. Cricketers did not choose to shake hands and volley ball players did. Did BJP government put a ban on shaking hands? Not sure.

The cricketers should have ignored the directive from above anyway. What would have happened? This is petty stuff which no govt or official body should be involved in. Going after individual players for a handshake would only make them look even more petty.

If a cricketer did that he might be blasted in the media, lose sponsorship deals, lose government favour, pressure to drop him from the squad from these weird fundamentalists. Didn’t one of our cricketers pretty much get sidelined from supporting Imran khan? On the whole it doesn’t seem worth it at all to go against the directive. Most of these cricketers just want to play cricket and get paid. They don’t want to be embroiled in a media frenzy.

Their families might even be brought into it too, which would be a horrible situation. Much safer to just play along.

Disgusting! Those Volleyball players should be sent to the Mexican border and never allowed back in Old Dehli!.

Why did the cricketers chose not to and the volleyball players did? This is the question obviously? lol

Well it's instructive you mentioned the cricketer who got sidelined for supporting Imran Khan, because we do get cricketers who get more involved than is healthy in mouthing off on behalf of political parties, and if they get the blowback, then they have less room for complaint.

But we are talking about shaking hands at the end of a game of cricket here. It's actually more scandalous when it doesn't happen as in any sport there is usually the acknowledgement of you're opponents at the end of the contest. Even in combat sports like boxing or MMA where athletes literally try to knock each other out in acts of extreme violence.

Its their choice. One cannot force people to shake hands or stop them from shaking hands.

Cricketers felt they will be showing solidarity with Indian Armed Forces by not shaking hands with Pak players. Volley ball players did not feel the same way.

Now you are just obviously promoting a lie. Indian cricket players would normally shake hands at the end of the game, if none of them did so, then it was because they were instructed not to. Or are you going to pretend that all of them unilaterally decided not to?

LOL,
At this rate, pretentious atheists will soon be telling us that Modi pisses liquid gold every morning.

India’s too big and diverse a nation to have a standard response to anything.

I can say there is no God. It is man made.

Can you say there is no God? You cannot. Because you are not an Atheist.

You seem to be suffering from the same disease as Sweep_Shot when it comes to Modi. :dw :cobra

I agree with the volley ball players. I assume now the RSS with orange dresses are going to attack the volleyball players for not showing solidarity with armed forces who took a good beating. Thanks for clarifying.

I'm not an atheist. But if I were, I certainly wouldn't waste time defending a religiously extremist group or making absurd excuses for them.

You have no evidence of Calling Hindutva an Extremist ideology or RSS an extremist group.

I am an Atheist and I defend the Savarkar version of Hindutva.

Hindutva believes in supremacy, this alone is extremism.

Its interesting every other Indian is atheist but spend more time defending Hindutva than Yogi himself!

The Indian cricket team didnt shake hands because Hindutva ideology is inbedded within the organisation. Volleyball players are so far safe.

You're not an atheist. You're not even confused.

What you are is exactly what experience has taught us, just another Hindutva loyalist hiding behind the atheist label.

The mask always slips. But you? You went a step further, trying to convince us that Modi pisses liquid gold every morning.

You want evidence?

Start by taking off those orange tinted, hate filled goggles. Maybe then you'll have a shot at understanding what it actually means to be an atheist.

You're one step ahead of @Rajdeep though, at least he never pretended to be anything else.

Anyway, I am done discussing your true self.

No you don't otherwise you would be sitting in India and not the land of the cow burger.
