PZ Alert: We are pleased to announce that Nobel Peace Prize Winner Malala Yousufzai had a cordial meeting with Mr.Javed Afridi yesterday. The meeting lasted for two hours during which both Malala and Javed Afridi agreed to work together for educational programs. Mr.Afridi lauded Malala's work and both decided to work together on various projects which will be announced in due course. Malala meanwhile is an ardent supporter of PZ and gleefully accepted the team jersey and jacket handed over to her by Mr. Afridi. PZ is glad to announce that Malala will also be an ambassador for the team.

That's a pretty ridiculous question. She got shot in the head last time she was in Pakistan.

? its her own country. things are normal in SWAT area. kids are going to school. its not like SWAT of 2007.

Haha pretty easy to say that sitting behind a keyboard. Much harder to act on it when you have actually been shot and nearly escaped death. Not to mention that there is still an active threat against you.

It's not normal bruh. Step out of Pakistan for once, all your comments for western Pakistanis is based off of your experience of just living in Pakistan.

The Question is, why she is not coming to pakistan ?

She currently attends a very good school in England - Edgbaston High School - and will probably be off to Oxbridge soon. Why would she come back to Pakistan at this stage?

how do you both know that i dont know the ground realities ? infact i know the ground realities of many cities very well.

She should stay in England and continue her education. It would be better for both her and Pakistan to have a strong, educated shining example of progressive Pakistan and she can achieve it only if she finishes her education outside Pakistan. It would be stiffling with lots of hindrances (apart from security) for her to return to Pakistan and continue on there.

Just saw the comments on Javed Afridis Facebook Page. There is nothing more pathetic and saddening than seeing grown men hating so much on a little girl.

So despite that you want her to give up her education and the luxuries which come from living in England to return to those places where you're aware of said ground realities, that's very unselfish isn't it.

Do you have any idea that how many Fatwa's are floating about her in Pakistan ?

How she is termed agent of Israel and foreign Intelligence agencies and think tanks ?

How many people are calling for her head in Pakistan ?

What sort of security she needs in Pakistan ?

She has genuine Life threats. Let her breath.

Shameful behavior by some - thankfully few in numbers

Looks like enough for the Zalmi to backtrack!

#PeshawarZalmi Clarification!
In past few days there is a lot of miscommunication & misinformation regarding Peshawar Zalmi ambassadorship!
I hereby clarify that Noble Prize Winner Malal Yousufzai is not the ambassador of Peshawar Zalmi

As long as she can speak better Urdu than Bilawal i can see her coming back and becoming the next Allama Iqbal, liaqat Ali Khan and Aga Khan who went to Eton

Disappointing decision by Javed Afridi. There is no reason to give in to bunch of misogynists. If all foreigner players should boycott this team.

Did you even bother to read the thread? Read post 21. Spineless afridi backtracked.

Yeah just read it, simply pathetic and cowardly move ..

Its our society really with strict male dominating norms and don't like to see women prospering in any phase of life ..

Nothing surprising here..

If foreign players have any respect they would boycott this team.

Maybe she was just wanting to be a supporter and didn't want to get dragged into being a political football again. I know she is not shy from being a public figure, but perhaps she has enough on her hands making a new life in England.

Maybe Javed afridi was fearing backlash from KPK fans because of this.

Not sure about what her image is in KPK but judging from his fb posts, the locals were very angry.
