I noticed that there are no threads on Taskin Ahmed. But I was impressed with his pace and debut against Australia even though we got thrashed, the moral victory was we got Taskin. Also he didn't disappoint when he picked up a fiver against India, again we lost that match but the morally we won that match.

Wasim Akram was quite impressed and gave him tips personally on swing bowling. The kid like me understands and speaks Urdu, I hope Wasim's tips makes him into a beast like :akhtar oneday. Your thoughts.

Do not go India route of selecting baller who can ball fast but nothing else. Select bowler on their wicket taking ability and work on them to increase their pace.
 
good prospect and OP can alot of bangla people speak urdu I have met one or two who can who say they picked it up from bollywood.

Salam dear brother, agar humko urdu nehi ata hain, to hum to insaan hi nehi hain :yk . By the grace of Allah most of my friends can speak urdu, most people that i know of speak very fluently. I learned it from my Abbu jaan :moyo

Now trying to learn Dari, beautiful language.
 
He needs to work really hard if he wants to become a top pacer but potential is there. Looked raw in that West Indies tour. Maybe he will spark and surprise at world cup. Only 19.
 
I hope Bangladesh manage him well. I am afraid with the lack of experience in grooming pace bowlers they will destroy him
 
Nice, smooth action and has the physique to be a proper fast bowler as well. Usually Bengali pacers look meek (no offense), but this kid has something menacing about him. Has the right ingredients to be a good fast bowler, looking forward to seeing him at the world cup.

Would really like to see him develop into a world class cricketer like Shakib.
 
Good bowler.

Has all ingredients of a good smooth fast bowler. With proper guidance he can be quiet handful.

Shahadat was very aggressive, and early in his career he was solid with a Test strike rate in the 50s. He was tall and bowled right around the 140 kph mark. Sadly laziness spoiled him.

Taskin is not quite as tall as Shahadat, only about 6'2"... But he's just as aggressive and he's quicker. Also seems to be a hard working lad as well.
 
Taskin is more built and looks like a kid who is eager to play while Shahadat in his interview said he wants to be like Shahrukh Khan :yk

Shahadat was super skinny until 2011-12 when age started putting charbi on his belly. Taskin was super skinny till 2013 when he started working out. I reckon he's added 5-7 kg of muscle since his BPL debut.

Picked up the big two wickets of Pakistan, 7 overs 41 runs for 2 wickets, well played lad.

Bowled :misbah that's a big achievement, bowling the second best batsman in the team. Sheer Pace
 
Pace sensation.The guy is an ATG got rid of the greatest no 3 in hstory of the game.Give him sitara e imtiaz.:asif
 
He looks half decent in the video to be fair. Nice swing and pace. Also looks up for it in a way Ehsan Adil was lacking against NZ.
 
He'll probably take up Mashrafe Mortaza's role of being in the team for the next 10 years and bowling the new ball. Hardly a bad thing.
 
His action looks good. He is well build for a 19 years old pacer.

Good prospect. Looking forward to following him.
 
The main problem with Bangladeshi teenage sensations are that apart from Shakib no one have seem to improve. He looks like a great prospect.

Inshallah let's hope so. The kid needs to generate more pace. Saw some comments where people are saying that Rubel is faster than him, i hope not. Taskin needs to work under Shane Bond to be a genuine quick bowler. Bond transformed Milne, Milne when first arrived was even smashed by Akhtar and Wahab.

Rubel is not bad either though, after Murali's bashings he came a long way. Just needs to focus on his career and stop doing haram things :amla

His fastest ball today was 145.1 kph, he looked very nervous today, thus he lost another 10kph :butt

He had two catches dropped of his bowling. Bowled a thunderbolt to Shenwari which had him ducking for his life.

What was "Asia's fastest bowler" (your quote)'s average speed, today? Even Wahab Riaz bowled 154 kph vs. India.

Wahab Riaz? That was a speed gun error, his other deliveries didn't even touch 150 kph. Speed gun was fixed :butt
 
Saw him bowling yesterday. He is poor mans Shami Ahmed . Not more than that. Stop hyping mediocrity like we do with Pakistan players.
 
Taskin's domestic figures look awesome, though I am not sure what the standard of Bangladeshi domestic cricket is.
 
extremely impressed with this young fella, tall strapping lad who bowls an almost perfect line and length, and that too at 140-142 kph.

brilliant find for the Bangladeshis.
 
^ Ok I trust 90% of AZ's commentary on cricket (forget Tanvir stuff) so I believe he is good.
 
Lol, 'OP' had hyped him as a 150 kph bowler. Dude only bowls at 144kph max, that even on a good day.

Anyways, if u discount that false hype, he is a descent bowler with a good action but lacks the flexibility in the wrist to generate swing.
U can't be successful at the int. level by just banging the ball into the turf. Even a far quicker bwler like milne is not penetrative coz he lacks the skill.
U need movt. which taskin lacks. If he doesnt develop it, then he'll become another trundler coz on dead tracks that enthusiasm in banging the ball into the pitch will eventually wither away due to encountering fitness issues.

Just the other day their was a post about southee being hit for over 100 in 10 overs.

From the tone here you would think Tim Southee's career ended that day

People here tend to enjoy when a player from a different country is having an off day. Other's misery brings them happiness. It's all fun cricket at the end :misbah
 
Taskin second fastest bowler today. Rubel fastest!

Not bad for Bangladesh :)

It is a difficult day for any bowler in the world. No one ggetting the wickets, catches being dropped, flat pitch, poor ground fielding and Sanga and Dilshan on song.
 
Who is this Dushmantha chameera from srilanka i have heard russel arnold saying that this guy can bowl fast... If yes then please anybody can explain how fast he is?
 
Kid has been impressive, got away with a few bad deliveries today, a catch was dropped by Tamim today or else he would have had 3 wickets instead of 2. His fastest ball today was 144.5 kph, commies were impressed with him.
 
^bowling on wickets where 300 is scored for fun isn't easy.

He did well so far
