Looked like Rizwan had let go of the ball and luckily it cannoned onto the stumps with Axar out of his ground.

Fair decision or not?

Gloves hit the stumps, nothing in the replays suggested it was the ball.

Question is whether the ball or gloves hit the stumps first. Looked quite 50-50 to me

clear out, ball hit the wicket at the same time as glove.
as long has ball is hitting wicket, it should be out

Impossible decision to adjudicate. Either way it would have been the right decision. I don't think the laws have covered such a scenario whereby evidence at best shows simultaneous dislodgment by the gloves and ball. Which should reign preference?

it hit same time, the bail got dislodge due to to the force of the gloves, but ball touched at the same time.

However, this was zing stumps, so even if ball touches the stumps will light up. So it was a good decision

I don't think a batsman like Axar Patel would have made any difference. It was a strange decision to send him above Pandya. Also just like that mankading incident recently, it was decided by the umpires so just leave it at that now. :inti

The bails need to be dislodged with gloves and ball. Here when they were dislodged ball was clearly out of it. Not out for me.

It wasn't clear at all. The gloves might have dislodged the stumps first.

There was no same time. Gloves were ahead of the ball all the time, and half the gloves were not even visible. We only see ball and gloves together because front half of the gloves was behind Rizwan.

Easy decision for me. Ball touched first. Benefit of the doubt has to go to the WK...

If ball is firmly in hand and pops out... how in the world will ball's forward momentum be greater than hand that actually started that momentum and is accelerating towards the stump? :)

Clear gloves, but whatever, it was a nothing batsman.

there was an angle shown from the covers after the decision has been made. that angle showed that the ball popped out and he hit the stumps first with his gloves before the ball.

Was Axar Patel run out?

I saw 4 or 5 replays of the run out but didn't see a a definitive angle where the ball clearly broke the stumps and not Rizwan's gloves ?

I felt that Rizwan broke the stumps with his gloves first and then the ball hit the stumps. Not sure if it was out. I thought 3rd umpire would rule it in favor of batsman. But it was a very close call.

Is there full video of this incident?

Dravid and co think Axar is a much batter than Pant #5 position.

In one angle it looked out. In another angle looked doubtful. I won't say that was a howler. He made his call based on the evidence available. Evidence said more OUT than more NOT OUT.

Your favourite opener aka mental midget and finisher Dk almost lost it for india but thanks to Virat and Pandya india won this game .pant inclusion in playing eleven is need of hour .:ashwin

It certainly looked out in 2d TVs but looking at Rizwan's reaction we all know it was not out. Having said that had Akshar stayed around it would have only benefited Pakistan as score would have been 45/4 after 12 overs instead of 10.

Should have kept him in would have been celebrating a Pak victory today !

He wasn't, the ball was out off the gloves when they made contact with the stumps. Rizwan's reaction, following the attempt is a clear giveaway. That was even before the umpire ruled.
Okay, what are we reviewing, next?
