His critics after seeing the horror show of Babar and Rizwan in the Asia cup (dot balls and lack of intent) would argue that Sharjeel has fallen off the track and isn’t even performing in the Pakistan cup

Well guess what! He responds the very next day after Rizwan scored his 55 off 47 (chasing 170) with an emphatic 107* off 62 balls in the Pakistan cup!

Once again Sharjeel leads the way by becoming the first centurion of a T20 domestic tournament. His 5th T20 hundred whilst Rizwan has 1 T20 hundred.

Absolute nonsense to keep this man out of the side considering how badly our strategy has been exposed in targeting powerplay overs!

He’s done his time. Misbah and Waqar brought him back into the national side only for Rameez to bring his personal ego into it. This culture of favouritism and personal egos needs to go! The man is all clear and he is a must for the national side!
 
Sharjeel's inclusion would be great, but he is another batsman out of form.

Can't carry out of form batsmen, especially considering Babar and Zaman are already doing nothing.

Was dropped multiple times and they were student forward. He’s a fixer and on top very unfit and has flopped the whole tournament bat today after being dropped numerous times. No thank you we don’t need him.
 
I don't think he is reliable anymore. He will be found out very soon. He already had no feet movement whatsover. Given his excessive weight now, the feet movement has become worse. He is just another domestic bully.

You keep advocating for his inclusion in many threads. All I see is you ranting none stop about Rizwans performances. Could you kindly please post sharjeels innings by innings list for the last 20 domestic t20 matches he has played barring this match obviously as you been ranting before this match that he should be in Pakistan team.

I'll be waiting...
 
He is mostly overweight. I am surprised no one has mentioned a possible return for Umar Akmal.
 
There's no harm in trying Sharjeel after the sh1t show we've seen from Babar and Rizwan. I genuinely believe they've cost Pakistan the WT20 and the Asia Cup over the last 12 months.

I'd bring Sharjeel in the squad but I'd be more keen to experiment with Haider Ali first or perhaps we open with these 2 and see how they get along in the bilateral T20Is first.
 
Match fixer, unfit, leg side hack and not even performing regularly. Never.

When was he supposed to be reliable? He bats at a 140-160 strike rate. Who is reliable batting at this rate???
 
I agree. sharjeel is a must, and if anyone is worried about his fitness and fielding with the pathetic fielding performance we saw yesterday, he can’t be any worse.
 
He is way too overweight. You cant have someone like that in the national team, although he is killing the domestic level, he will maybe play one decent innings, if he plays in world cup, more than anything his fielding alone will cost you matches as well.
 
Sharjeel is Pakistan’s Alex Hales. England did the right thing and brought him back into the team. Pakistan must do the same.

To those who say “leg side hack”, so is Rizwan.

To those who say “fat sumo” so is Rohit Sharma.

To those who say “match fixer” show us proof of fixing. Any footage would suffice.

"Pakistan’s banned Test batsman Sharjeel Khan has accepted all five charges imposed on him by the Anti-Corruption Tribunal of the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) as he targets an early comeback to domestic cricket.

Khan is serving a five-year ban, half of which is suspended, for his role in spot-fixing scandal during the Pakistan Super League (PSL) in February 2017.

If you want to analyse his true performance, the highest level he’s played at is at the PSL recently. In 2022 he played 10 games for KK, with an average of 23.1 and a s/r of 130. He had one 50 in the whole tournament. In the national T20, Fakhar bats like a legend as does Ifti. Id like to see a change at the top of the order, but Sharjeel, with his boundary dot dot dot style, is not the solution

What was Babar’s sr who was his batting partner?
 
He is unfit, for that reason alone he does not deserve a place in the squad. He has had years now, however he could care less about fitness. Not to mention he costs the teams runs with this fielding.

And's its not like he is dominating with the bat in domestics either. He has been just ok.

In the last PSL he averaged 23 with a strike rate of 130. And before today's century he was not that impressive in the National T20 tournament either.

In fact the only reason we’re mentioning Sharjeel is because his stock has risen by being out of the team. Let’s discuss solutions, but ones which can perform now, rather than in 2016
 
Sharjeel is way to out of shape to represent Pakistan. The guy has had ample opportunities to get himself in shape but he seems to get worse every time I see him. Also, the highlights of that century in National T20 is available on YouTube. Two easy catches were dropped and a number of runs came through outside and inside edges.
 
Sharjeel has been pretty meh for most of this tournament and even this game, he was dropped 3 times. Twice when he was on 19 on routine catches.

One thing I will say however, is Sharjeel does enjoy playing pacers and spin won't as big of an issue - something which will benefit the entire team. It was way back in 2017 when Sharjeel did have a pretty good series batting there with a 50 AVG & 115 SR in ODI's.

I am not against trying Sharjeel-Rizwan with Babar at 3 but he is a pretty limited player at this point and often struggles against spin. I do think he could succeed in Australian conditions but he is unfit and a poor fielder.

What impact? Batting at a max 130 s/r whilst not rotating strike? How’s that an upgrade on Rizwan? Need an upgrade , not more of the same

Most Pakistani’s would admit to a crime they didn’t commit if it meant that they’d be allowed to resume their cricket career.
 
We are in a mess today because we don’t have the batting resources to play modern t20 cricket. Rizwan or Babar isn’t a favourite of mine, but I’d rather we try realistic solutions that don’t cost us in the field. In the final, one big momentum changer was Shadab’s drop. Sharjeel, with his lack of athleticism increases that risk. Haris, atleast is sprightly and a future alternative to Rizzy as keeper

Even if you take fitness out of the equation, you can watch the highlights of that century and than give me your honest opinion whether at international level he would have been able to replicate it.

You have Pant and Rohit as batsmen and malnourished Arshdeep and Bhuvi as pacers. Let’s not forget Chahal as well.

Balochistan dropped 3 very very easy catches. Haris Sohail dropped the easiest catches you will ever see when he was on 19.

He relies on his pull shot on one leg, once a clever captain places a fielder there for him he will be caught anywhere.

Domestic bully!

His belly is also big as ever!

I’d love to see a attacking opener but if he’s allowed back I’d be surprised.

Pant has put on a bit too much recently but Rohit looks alright. Anyway, like I said this guy looks like he has twice the fat of Rohit

Once he was dropped by the keeper and once by Harris Sohail

There was also one half chance later by Khurram Shahzad but that wasn’t as easy as the first two
 
A part of me feels God wanted him to score this hundred today. Just imagine scoring a ton of this kind when the team is screaming for a power hitting opener!

If it happens once then you can say it’s a miscalculation, but it happened almost every game in the Asia cup. You cannot consume 50% of the deliveries going at a run a ball whilst expecting new batters to come in and go big from ball one.

PLUS Shergeel is done he is overweight too old Pak should look for someone who is young and has talent
I even wonder if PCB has scouts looking for talent or they just watch bunch of domestic games scorecards and select players

Must have miscalculated to a win against India.

Important to recognize, the batting unit struggled against Afghanistan & Sri Lanka. Both teams who have really good spinners and Pakistan simply have batsmen who struggle against that.

Lmao what a take. Pakistan are a completely untalented nation carried by a few individuals. The reason they have punched above their weight for the last 2 years is because of Babar and Rizwan. Regardless of their limitations they are our best batsmen by a country mile.

If you think Khushdil and Asif Ali were going to win the WT20 if they had a few more balls to play then i suggest you find a new sport to type about.
 
Even today 3 catches were dropped.kepp this khan Baba out of the team. people like him with poor fitness and dodgy past will make more probelms.
