The current Pakistan team has been displaying a newfound sense of confidence and aggression, which is a welcome change for fans. However, this bold approach has also led to some heated exchanges with opponents.

A recent example is the altercation between Pakistan's Ghulam and South African keeper Kyle Verreynne in the ongoing 1st Test match. The incident occurred in the 31st over when Ghulam seemingly provoked Verreynne, who responded with an angry look and a verbal retort.

This isn't Ghulam's first run-in with an opponent. During the white-ball tour of Australia last month, he exchanged words with Australian skipper Pat Cummins, who ultimately dismissed Ghulam to silence him.

Warning: Abusive language

What are your thoughts on this new aggressive approach by Pakistan players? Should they continue to show this level of passion and competitiveness, or does it risk crossing the line into unsportsmanlike behavior?

Did anyone notice this? Well imo Kamran Ghulam was just trying to have fun in the park lol

In SA you have to, they always be up to their usual tricks, you can’t back down & you need to back it up. Remember when Younis Khan gave Steyn the middle finger, whipped a hundred there as well. KG is not the same player but has a similar fighting mentality, you need to show a pair in these conditions and take it to the bowlers & think outside the box when the wicket is not in your favour.

Well Klaseen started it but unfortunately پاکستان might not walk the talk in red ball

I would prefer Pakistani players not indulge in this especially in broken English and if they can't consistently back it with performances.

If you do it in poorly spoken English and Paindu accent you just ruthlessly expose yourself to counter ridicule and comebacks.

Ghulam went too far dropping the f bomb. Don't think that was necessary at all. Even if Verreyne said that, there is no need to drop down to his level. A number of people are watching the match at any given time, including young kids. You set a bad example for them by using this kind of language.

Loved the aggression though. He was really getting under their skin and having a fair bit of verbal back and forth with Rabada. Had he not played that stupid shot and kept his cool he could have went on and played a memorable knock. All he needed to do was play out that period and not lose his wicket and he would have won the battle. Sadly, it wasn't to be.

Ghulam is not going to be consistently successful with his Ultra aggressive batting approach. Why does he want the South Africans to mark and target him specially?

Well you don't know that. He just started his test career. And this approach seemed to pay off pretty successfully for him in one of the ODIs.

I would rather have someone who has that confidence and belief in his abilities rather than a mental midget who is scared of being targeted. This is test cricket, no one ever said it was going to be easy.

Kamran Ghulam in post match presser shared following thoughts on today's episode:

"You know how cricket is, it's a beautiful game. Sometimes these things happen in cricket. There was nothing major, just a bit of talk on the field, that's all."

KG trying to impress the color kit skipper, lost his wicket with lack of concentration

in just a bit of talk they were doing maa behen of each other... its just a non sense!

verreyne looked more suprised than anything, lol, think kamran learned some new words and wanted to try em out.
Vereynne probably said something like:

“Yeah you want to (effing) stop the game because of some guy moving a mile away from the sightscreen”

Kamran thought that he is saying the F bomb to him just because it’s the only word he understood in that sentence.

So he swore at him and Vereyyne was like, “what did he just say?!?” :ROFLMAO:

as someone who enjoys swearing, i learned today, that the dynamic of saying F you to someone completely changes when you stress the "you" in the statement that hard. KG teaching everyone something new.

He had the same passion and intensity of a grandma saying "I love you"

He sounded very out of place saying what he said. As if he just wanted to say it for the sake of saying it and seem 'cool' but he looked ridiculous. This wasn't aggression it looked childish

Ew. Even the fans have gotten soft now. Sad.

“there’s no need to drop down to his level” that’s what parents teach to their school going kids!

Expose themselves to ridicule from insecure people like you maybe. Saffers, or in fact any athlete, wouldn’t give two cents about the opposition’s language skills or accent.

Got the chance to revisit the video, GK misunderstood him. He just cut a joke with him regarding his pauses during play. But GK thought that he uttered something negative

This is your inferiority complex talking. You’ve probably only started watching Pak cricket in the last decade or two.

news flash. You have all the right to give it back to the opposition. You are not the world’s punching bag.

Pakistani cricketers have been aggressive in the past. Your mind is just used to watching softies

Maybe he has this thing called confidence?

Why so scared? Ohhh the opposition is going to mark me!! Better keep my mouth shut!!

Yeah there is nothing “grown up” about the advice you gave.

These are not school going children
You're not the only one watching the match. Not everyone wants to hear expletives when they watch a cricket match.

Then you can mute your TV. It’s an intense sport played by adults. It’s a part of sport - intense competition can bring out intense emotions.

Next time when our players get sledged, they should say “yeah we can’t give it back because some of our fans don’t want to hear expletives” sure

Mitchell Johnson always covers his mouth when he uses inappropriate language.

I have no problem with our players giving it back and sledging.

However here Kamran had no clue what the other guy was saying and he kept parroting the “f” word like he just learned something new.

Our players who can have a conversation in English AND swear/sledge in a way the opposition also understands what you’re saying is what makes it effective.

"Intense emotions"? That was the cutest, softest, most CLUELESS display of bombing I've ever seen. That was my point earlier. It's not an inferiority complex. Give it back to them but don't embarrass yourself.

Embarrass why? He’s entitled to give it back the way he knows how. What’s the criteria for giving it back? Who defines it?

He’s not looking to score cool marks. What matters is the intent. There are no points for using correct grammar or having the perfect accent. Sledging is all about not taking any BS from anyone and standing up for yourself. That’s what KG did.

Love it. Give it back. This is what cricket is about.

Talk back. Talk smack. Brings the game alive.

Just hurl abuses in urudu. Who cares.

Good on Kamran to give it back

But when Virat does it- Chi Chi :rizwan

When some Pakistani player does it- WOW :pmik
Cut it with the victim mentality man. Its a problem with some indians.

Are you equating this with Kohli shouldering a 19 year old kid? What is wrong with you? Like fr, why would you even present this as a justifiable argument.

Lol Indian posters here are indirectly trying to say what Kohli did was no different.

Kohli shoulder barged a 19 year old kid on his debut because he got so rattled. Beta male move.
They have a constant victim mentality and always try to build equivalence with us. In the time pass threads, the same posters are telling Pakistanis that same would happen to them in response to Americans hating on Indians. Like can you please stop this obsession with equating us with yourselves?

90s Pakistani cricketers were brutal with this stuff. Sadly that also turned internal sometimes with them going at each other in the dressing room. :wa

This is baby stuff compared to that.

It's good to give it back to the opposition within a reason (i.e. don't be a Kohli and start getting physical with a debuting teenager) and as long as you don't lose focus. If you're losing focus then just let it go and concentrate on the game.

There is no victim mentality when there are constructive debates. When there are 100 other probable credible issues that Pakistanis can discuss most focus seems to be on Indian bashing. Had people left it at Virat’s behavior was inappropriate, I probably wouldn’t have even bothered commenting because it’s obvious. When it descends into BCCI and further spirals into politcal toxicity, some mirror is required to be shown.

Whatever you were trying to do completey failed and fell on its face. getting hurt over your beloved bcci being mentioned shouldnt make you post such stuff.

Speaking of time pass, I mentioned earlier today, in the thread below, about the contrast in their behaviour and mannerisms between what they're like in the west and what they're like back home.

Aggression is fine but over-confidence is something different. You gotta be a very good player and dominate bowlers in a game if you want to swear at someone in that game as a batter. You gotta prove yourself first.

why not show aggression with bat or with a ball in hands? its just a pathetic way to show urself a winner.

Things got heated and intense between Shaheen Shah Afridi and Matthew Breetzke during the 3rd match of the tri-nation ODI series.

kamran should have refrained from such aggression. He is not even playing,

Totally ridiculous & stupid display by Pakistani players after running out Bavuma...especially at 170-2 in 29 over !!! South Africa could very well be on its way to a score of 340.

So what?

South africa likes to give to Pakistan and now they are reciving it back.

Good to see Shaheen is having a go.

The players are all pumped and showing aggression. Loving the scenes

Aggression would have been if the bowlers and fielders would have restricted South Africa to 170 all out.....
.... when a team is beating the crap out of your bowlers at 170-2 in 29 overs ...this type of behavior is stupid.

I hope Saud Shakeel & Kamran get banned for an ODI or two.... in addition to the fine.

170 all out doesnt happen.

300 score at this ground is not high as the wicket is not for pacers.

Also, you dont look at the score card and do aggression, aggresion is done to pump yourself up and get under the skin of the batter if he is doing well aswell.

So if a team scores 129 in 29 overs that means the opposition should stop chirping and act as nice boys?

South africa sledges teams even if they are scoring ate a good rate

Yes pulling out a one off match.

Expecting 170 all out ona flat track of karachi in 2025

Sometimes its better to watch an actual game than looking at stats only.

In last two years...

Too bad..... there is still no cure for foot-in-mouth disease!

As always.... putting words in other people's mouth. Where did I say, I was "expecting"?

Speaking of flat Karachi wickets.... I'll let you check where this match was played...

Again, come out of score cards and go watch an actual match. Posting stats without even knwoing the actual conditions of the ground.

Its easy to paste ss of cricinfo but not be able to do a logical analysis.

I advice you to keep finding stats that prove babar as relevant

Wait for the South African bowlers and fielders to return the favour. Pakistani players have forgotten their aukaat.

Pathetic from kamran Ghulam and that 4ft saud who averages 28 in odis.

That 4ft guy can't even clear 30 yard circle. Here he is acting like he is some kind of gunda.

Hearing this next gen Pak fans is so sad.

When did y'all lose your confidence so bad? I know we haven't been world beaters lately, but that isn't a reason to lose your pride.

We were once a force to reckon with. I know you guys were probably too young to remember, but having an attitude on field is not only reserved for other teams. Yes, backing it up with performance would be nice, but that isn't a prerequisite.

So, please, ditch this inferiority complex and show some spine. Let our boys be men and do not project your own insecurities onto them.

Are you convined it was a flat track or not?

So yes where are the posters that had issue with aggression when the score was 170ish?
