[PICTURES] Wasim Akram meets Pakistan U19 squad in Melbourne

Must have given nice tips to young players, this will boost up their confidence. Btw I thought Wasim earns enough money, yahan to bhabi ki pant phati howi he..

Yes. He will tell them how difficult batting will be. So the aim should be to tuk tuk for 40 overs and hit out during the last 10 overs to reach 220.

Don't forget the classic "lock your wrist and flick it for swing" tip. :wasim

If Wasim was in the city and had not gone, we would have had the 'he cant be bothered to help his people' brigade patrolling the streets here!

A good gesture by Wasim. But sadly none of the under 19 would have seen Wasim live on tv. They were at max only 5 years old when he retired.
I guess most of the bowlers of this batch would have idolized someone like Shoaib Akhtar, Dale Steyn, Anderson or Lee.

These players will make it because of talent, hard work and luck. A pep talk from Akram may help but in the bigger scheme of things it makes very little difference.

Oh yes, exactly like who in this day and age would use internet to go to youtube and watch wasim bowl. Or like they never talk about the only one day world cup that Pakistan won in ODI's in 92' because that was such a long time ago and no one has really talked about that world cup triumph since the summer of 95'.

Why'd any one these kids know who Akram is and what he did?

Bro did you even read what I wrote? I said none of them would have seen him bowl live. There is a big big difference watching someone bowl live or seeing someone's clips on youtube years afterwards.

because seeing him bowl live changes everything.

Wasim Akram remains an inspiration for many Pakistani cricketers.

Good to see this.

because seeing him bowl live changes everything.

you can't recreate the passion, excitement, anxiety or get to live the magic moments of present, there is no substitute to that. On clips and highlights, yeah sure you know what's going to happen next. But in live game, you don't know what's coming next, the sheer belief and unexpectability of the nature of the game is what it makes so brilliant. While watching CT final 2017 highlights, everyone knows Amir gets the top 3 wickets in his 6 overs, but did any of us know that was going to happen when it was happening live? Maybe you have some super powers that can see the future, but pretty sure 99.9% others don't.
